  1. Grrrrrr. I've had another thread going on finding larger clamshells that actually hold 3.5 oz of wax, many supplier claim it but they only hold 2.8 ounces in reality. I just checked the 1803 canddle website and their clamshells melts, they claim, are 4 oz. Where is this packaging coming from???????????
  2. I did this today! I think I did it right. Yes, easy to set up goals and the URL. Fingers crossed! Thank you, again.
  3. I don't have any goals set up but have seen that functionality. Thank you. I'll play with this tonight. Probably be back with more questions!
  4. Is there a report that will tell me if the visit led to a sale and what the referring site was? For example, let's say someone posts a link on the candlefind.com forum about my site. Is there any report that will tell me if 1 (or 2 or 3...) sales originated from that candlefind.com link?
  5. I KNOW WHAT MAY NOT WORK FOR ONE, MIGHT BE PERFECT TO SOMEONE ELSE. Here are my flops of CS in para blend Asian Amber - very strong, this is my PERSONAL opinion, I know others do well with this. A very deep, dark, herbal type scent if that is your thing, knock your socks off. Buttercream - I think DayStar's is much better Buttered Rum - all I can say is it doesn't smell like Buttered Rum to me. Pecan Pie - I found it to be very light in throw. I like the AH version better. Raspberry Truffle - it smells good but I find it to be light. Very Vanilla - not good, chemical notes or plastic. Just not a good vanilla. Many I like better. The CS French Vanilla is good, though. These are among those I think are great from CS Banana Nut Bread - love this one and Peak's Blueberry Cheesecake - not too heavy on graham or cream cheese but luscious blueberry pie filling notes Clean Cotton Yankee Dupe - I think this is the best version of this dupe Cranberry Marmalade - sells great all year, not too tart Day at the Spa - nice, fresh, scent. Does have lemon notes. Honeysuckle Jasmine - beautiful, very strong throw. Lavender - this is an herbal type lavender, very true Plumeria - my favorite of all I tried Pumpkin Pie - my favorite of all the PPs I have tested P.S. the Apple Maple Bourban is strong on the apple notes and weak on the maple and bourban. I really like this scent but if you're looking for heavy maple, this is not it. I renamed it.
  6. I can't answer for the OP but it might be a case of physical room. Once closed the take up less space and can even be stacked. I let mine cool completely.
  7. Much more cooked blueberry (pie filling-ish rather than natural fruit) than cream cheese.
  8. I have tried Banana Nut Bread from Nature's Garden, Candle and Supplies, Brighter Scents, CandleScience and Peak's. By far, CandleScience and Peak's are the best. Hard to pick one over the other.
  9. I use it in wax for tarts, para blend, and lives up to each review and more!!! Just a quick note, if you like to smell a lot of the graham cracker in your cheesecake scents, then this is not heavy on that.
  10. Great news! The common problem is the addiction to ordering new fragrance oils.
  11. My post didn't sound right. And I think I didn't read the OP right. Yes, I do let them know shipping prices right on my site before they order. I thought she meant should she "justify" what she charges for shipping to her customers. My bad.
  12. A few weeks ago, maybe more, I had asked about Just Scents as it seemed to me, overall, the reviews usually said they were weak. I asked and the consensus was, like many suppliers, hit or miss but more misses than hits. There scent descriptions got the better of me and I ordered a bunch of samples. Here's the samples I purchased, would love your comments if you've tried any. My OOB observations...... Bear Claw - mostly pick up on chocolate notes, this scent is getting a lot of buzz on various boards. After sniffing, not sure why. Summer Vacation - fruity and sweet, a bit light. Can't decide if I like it. It's almost like a weak fruit punch. Sand in your Shorts - smells like very toasted marshmallow to me, when it catches fire and the marshmallow turns black, which I personally love. Effervescent Fizzy Pop - I smell the bubbles, how do they do it? Fruity soda pop but not overly sweet. I like this one! Island Heat - not sure about the island part, supposed to be pineapple as a main note but I'm not getting that in OOB sniff. Pick up on creamy fruits with vanilla, not enough orange to call it a Dreamsicle but that kind vanilla/fruit quality. Twinkies - seems light, not sure I smell Twinkies though. Smell vanilla, not too sweet, don't pick up any cake. I wonder if I add just a bit of banana? To me, Twinkies have a very, very, very slight banana note in that filling. Pink Frosted Layer Cake - love, very much like the Philosophy scent, cake with strawberry frosting but nothing artificial. Lemon Magnolia - love, lemon tempers the magnolia. Be Thankful Type - have no idea what the original smells like but I don't like this scent at all. That is personal opinion. Reminds me of church incense in an old musty church. If I sniffed longer I might pick up other notes but I just could not, that first note floored me, not in a good way. Coconut Fluff - I'm in search of the perfect coconut and this is not it. Would probably work for blending. Almost has a tart note. Peeps - what do Peeps smell like anyway? This just seems like a run of the mill vanilla scent to me. Vanilla Sugar Waffle Cone - love, what else can I say? Banana Caramel Cupcakes - don't like this one, first sniff almost smells like burnt banana bread. Don't smell caramel at all. One of my sons likes that burnt taste, he'll ask me to overcook brownies, etc. He probably would love this. Not me. Strip and Go Naked - there is a certain smell to brand new Christmas lights when you pull them out of the box. Plastic but a unique plastic. This smells like that particular plastic to me with fruit mixed in. Pixie Dust - can't make up my mind. Might like this in a shower gel or scrub but not sure I would scent my house in this. A bit on the perfumey side. It is one of their best sellers. Plums, pears, berries, citrus and sugar sprinkles is the description. Not sure what I smell the most, maybe the plum. FYI, This is not sweet. Island Oasis - supposed to be a banana pina colada. Hmm. I don't think so. Banana has artificial notes, not very strong on the coconut. Chestnuts and Brown Sugar - love, but I have never tried any other version so I can't compare. Lots of brown sugar with a hint of nuttiness. OMG Cake - love. has definite almond notes, a bit of spice, pick up a tiny bit of chocolate. This might be the best cake scent I have sniffed but I like almond notes in pastry! Out of the box, they all seemed strong enough. We'll see how some of them do in wax. Will start with those I love, some I will not try at all. I'll be sure to post back in this thread with wax results.
  13. Hello and Welcome, I think you will need to let them sit and cure a day or so. Some scents just don't have great cold throw and then when you melt them, the scent is there! I don't use those specific oils from Nature's Garden but usually Nature's Garden oils are very good. If you melt them after two or three days and there is no scent, you might want to increase the oil or add the fragrance at a little higher temp or stir the fragrance into the wax longer, at least a minute of stirring.
  14. Hi Dee!, The one I'm looking at with WSP is the 6 oz one, which is fine with me, but its shows the price as $31.51 for 50, not 100. I might bite the bullet. Maybe I should call Impact and see if they have a size I want and the do a co-op. http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?CategoryID=1684&ProductID=7841
  15. You are all great. Eric, I must say that red and yellow does make orange regardless of ratios and your photos do look orange to me. But I give you high fives for effort:yay: Thank you so much for the other charts, love those!, and sites to find hot pink.
  16. I'm looking for very bright candle dye, would love a bright turq, neon green, bright orange, etc. My eyes are crossed looking at suppliers. I hate to just order one thing from Lonestar, I don't use anything else of theirs.
  17. Yes, very true. However, it would be a huge density difference to go from 2.8 to 3.5 in a same size clamshell. My search continues. Wholesale Supplies Plus carries a larger one but they are $31 for 50 pieces. Yes, free shipping but still a lot to pay. Would love to find the wholesaler for those.
  18. I don't think you should let your customers know the cost of anything, including postage. Something like that could sound narcissistic. Do you already have a strong following that use shipping? Have you always sold at craft fairs and home parties and just now venturing into shipping your products? I still say take pencil to paper. If your body butter is priced at $10, and shipping is $3, that leaves $7. You need to know your accurate cost of goods to make one jar of butter plus packaging. If your cost of goods is $3, that still leaves you $4 of profit per jar if shipped for FREE. If you charge the shipping, the your profit would be $7. How many more will you sell with free shipping to justify the drop in profit if you have free shipping? Will you make it up in volume? Don't know.
  19. There is no doubt customers LOVE free shipping. We crafters are no different, many times the shipping charges our fragrance oils suppliers charge comes up as part of discussions. I think you just really have to sharpen the pencil, know the cost of good plus shipping and figure out when or if you should offer free shipping. Have you ever run a free shipping special to see if it greatly increased sales? I ordered the regional rate boxes. I'm planning to lower my shipping costs overall to my customers. I'm thinking this economy is going to tank again, very soon, and need to keep cash flow coming in and cut profit. Certainly don't want to lose money but I have a lot tied up in inventory and I need to keep it moving and cash coming in even if it is at a lower profit.
  20. Thanks! These are the ones I already have from Cierra. The 1x1 inch cubes do not come up to the 3.5 oz of wax. Fully, fully filled, including the weight of the clam shell it is 2.8 oz. Grrrr. Makes me crazy that they REALLY over approximate the amount of wax it holds.
