  1. Those look like some really nice candles and a great display too! Nice and simple, not cluttered. Good job!
  2. that in my opinion sounds to me like a cd or htp...mine are tan on the inside...and "lean to the side" or curl when they burn......hopefully the person who sold them to you knows what size and type they were. good luck with it!
  3. That looks great to me!! Looks like your on the right track!
  4. Does anyone have an opinion on the Watermelon FO from rustic essentials? Not the longwyck one but the one above it in the list on there website. Is it a realistic strong juicy type or more of a light candy scent? Thanks!
  5. WOW! I would definately buy soap that looks like that, and the smell....YUM! Watermelon is my fave!!!
  6. well yeah thats what i meant i want to do lol hehe. any suggestions for where to start? :smiley2:
  7. Hello everyone! I got a new cinnamon bun silicone mold, and im wondering if I could get suggestions on wicking it please. It is approximately 4 1/8 wide at the widest point, and about 3 1/2 at the narrowest side....I am going to wick it for the widest that it is...i hope that works. I am using ky votive pillar wax, and use cd wicks. CD14 has been working for the most part in my jelly jars BUT thats a diff wax. Should I try a CD18 or 20? Or maybe two smaller wicks? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It will be lightly dyed with 8% FO. Thanks!
  8. WOW, thats one way to do a 4-wick candle! I may not know exactly what im talking about because i havent seen a candle like this before, but isnt the flame pretty big?
  9. Im kind of worried if I leave it liquid and try to pour the wax first, that I will still get water in there. I know its time consuming, but it seems to be working pretty well to melt it, let it set up and then take the wax out, and pour out remainder water lol....i dont know, maybe ill try it liquid and see what happens lol
  10. LOL im wondering if I can melt a bunch of it in my presto....let it all set up...and then the water will just sit at the bottom of the presto im assuming? Then i can lift the wax out, and dump the water out of the pot. and just wipe the wax off lol Sound like a plan?
  11. LOL kathleen...well thanks for letting me know that you...i mean SHE isnt the only one who has had this mistake haha Yeah I guess I will just need to spread it out or something, but dont really have the space to do that, and only two cookie sheets lol
  12. I found one thread....i know the water will settle in the bottom of the pot, but can I still use it? Its just for tarts thank goodness. But I just went to use my ky votive pillar wax, and havent used any in a couple weeks. Well, the whole bottom of the bag is full of water, i dont have the slightest clue how water got in there. But, the wax is wet. So, do you all think there is still hope for it? Thanks!
  13. I think the idea of coloring the ice cream scoops, and making them all the same size as the middle one is a great idea! The second one is extremely mouth watering! I LOVE it! That wax looks so creamy! How does it burn for you? Did you make the embeds with that same wax? I love those whipped cream rosettes, did you make those or buy them? Great job!
  14. I dont know if i posted this in the right spot, but I got an email. Here is her question. "I am looking for unscented soy candles and am having my own labels made. They are 3 1/2 long x 4 3/8 wide. What size candles would you recommend??" Does anyone make soy candles in a size that would accommodate her? I will direct her to you if you can help. I only make 8 oz jelly jars, and votives and tarts, i dont make a size at the moment that would be most useful for her. Please let me know or pm me if you can help!
  15. Yeah its not the best candle, and will prob blow out lol but so far its decent at least for a cheapy candle, mainly for decoration and light scent throw that i didnt have to make myself. lol. Sometimes i get burnt out and rather than make it myself, will buy one, but cant bring myself to buy anything real expensive lol. SO, for the price, I would say it burns well. Decent candle for the price anyway lol. But yes cheaply made lol.
  16. lol good thing you are warning me lol.......i have it on a plate type stand. So hopefully that helps lol.
  17. yeah they do look like granulated wax all pressed together lol but they burn well. lol
  18. I bought one just as a treat to myself, yes a cheap candle (about $6) but i wanted it more for the looks lol to put on my table. Its one of those mainstays candles from walmart. I love multiple wick candles, they are so pretty. Anyway, my BF says I always critisize every candle i buy, so why did i buy it lol. But...I really like it. It burns perfectly in my opinion, so evenly and nice. Scent throw isnt spectacular, its warm apple pie. But, its decent. I would say medium throw. But anyway it burns wonderfully. I guess ive been making soy candles for too long, cause when i looked at it i thought, well those wicks are not big enough at ALL lol. But they are the perfect size. They look like very thin skinny wicks so im not sure how they burn it so perfectly lol. Its paraffin of course, but no noticeable black smoke. Makes me kind of want to go back to paraffin, things just seem so much easier lol. Anyway was going to say, if you want a candle that does burn well, at least for me, and dont want to make one yourself, it was inexpensive lol. Burns nice, works for me lol. Im not doing those size candles as of YET lol. So thats what I will use for now lol.
  19. hmm wierd. would be kind of cute to try to make one that looks like that ya know, all out of embeds. Wouldnt be able to get the detail of the oats down lol but still would look cute im sure, something for me to try lol
  20. Really? That is just wierd....it looks like real oatmeal and i dont know how they would get embeds to look like that lol I wonder if they use some real food in the candle just for the purpose of taking the picture. Because how would you make wax to look like real oats lol. I know i could use brown sugar crumble embeds, i have some of that, but is the white just poured wax? It looks like sugar or flour! Hmm i wonder...
  21. thank you thank you thank you!! It makes me proud! But i still wanna find out how to make one of those candles LOL
  22. OMG these things are all over! I dont know though if ALL the products are carried by each of these places.
