Thats correct ... I make a 9 oz batch and added 1 teaspoon of FO was nice not over powering.

I use the same amount of FO as EO in my soap recipe. I find that EO seem to fade more then the FO as it cures. For some reason the FO seems to keep its scent better.

I had a lady come up to me at a farmers market and asked if my soap had goats milk in it. She said she bought a whole case of it and when she used it she said it make her smell like a smelly old goat!

I used peppermint EO but I wanted it to taste a bit sweeter. I was thinking about adding some steva to see if that made it taste a bit better.

I lost out on having my candles in a store in a awesome location due to what I think are really poor quality candles. The store owner ended up getting this candle making system from a local business that went out of business. The candles are horrible and she only gets 35% of what she sells. I have never seen this kind of thing before its a huge wooden keg with a heating element that holds the wax with a pour spout, you choose your scent and pour that in a tube next to the spout. The candle jar is filled and sealed with a funky wax disc and lid. She was making $10.45 a piece on my candles and didnt have to do a thing but display them. She only makes about $4.25 on the ones she makes and has to pay for electricity to keep the wax heated all day. So she has to sell about 15 to 20 candles before she even makes a profit!!! Besides my candles being way better quality that just doesnt make good business sense to me?

Yeah its a bit darker then I wanted but I used pomace grade olive oil which I wont buy anymore. So the base is darker to start with and I had to add more color to get it even close to a purple shade.

Well I was sweating the last 24 hours while my batch was in the mold. I was really worried the color was gonna be this ugly greyish color. I have heard that purple tends to not come out true. But it turned out a nice shade of purple considering it was the grosses color when I poured it in the mold. Kay

I used a combination of sweet almond oil 1.5 oz and 1.5 oz coconut oil. It just seems so waxy and greasy! but its great for the elbows and feet! I did find a recipe that calls for 1 to 3 beeswax to oils I am gonna try that one hope its not to soft.... I will just have to play with the recipe until I get it where I like it....

Made my first lotion bars. I used a recipe off this site which was 3 oz beeswax, 3 oz shea butter and 3 oz other oil of choice. I am thinking this is going to be way to waxy! YIKESSSS

Made some peppermint soap this weekend. Boy the hard part it waiting for it to cure.

I have been trying to sell my candles at my local Farmers/craft market for the last two weeks. I have only sold 3!! I dont think I have them priced too high. Asking $6.00 ea or 2/$11.00 for a 8 oz tin and $12.00 ea or 2/$22.00 for a 16 oz tin. No one else there is selling candles....

I am using different proportions of oils....

It was really easy. After I added my FO I divided my batch finished the uncolored part poured it in the mold. I tilted the mold so it would be somewhat uneven, then added the color to the rest and poured it on top.
