Good luck! I have been debating on what to do, too. I haven't made that much at it the past two years. I am going to take a break until the new year and see how things look until then. Steph
I might come close to breaking even, but not sure. Things have been slow, but I did start doing home parties, which helped a bit. After my small overhead, I still might not break even, been at it for 2 years since July. Steph
If buying a smaller candle, I would go with votives, that way you can reuse the holder. I do recycle glass, but hate cleaning out container candles! Steph
Our stores (not a lot in our small town) were very low on stock for everything canning when I looked about a month ago. Even walmart had nothing. The city about 35 minutes away had quart jars at only one store. YOu are in OH, so WSP should be able to get them to ya in a day or two. Steph
I find, sometimes, that the Root lye I got from the local hardware store causes me problems and the lye from a Co-op this past winter doesn't give me as many problems. Do you mix your lye mixture really well when adding to the oils? Do you stir or stick blend? Steph
It is a great scent, but I think people will either love or hate it. I renamed it Sweet and Sassy when I sold it. I don't sell it at the current time, but am hoping to add it back in the spring. I love all of their scents. What others are you ordering? Steph
Now that I think it it, it has only happened once, that was 2 years ago when I first started soaping. I will be shipping the soap to her as soon as it is firm enough to ship, and she is going to cut them herself. I have seen many soapers sell whole logs that way.
I just got a wholesale account for seasonal soaps, starting this coming valentine's day. She wants full logs. Occasionally I have a problem with lye pockets, so what if a log doesn't turn out right and she can't use it? How can I make sure it will be safe to sell? Steph
