  1. I ordered it from Peak. It just came today.
  2. Ahh, well, I could be mistaken about the ounces. I bought them a long time ago and the box isnt marked or anything, and I went back to the suppliers website where I got them from and it doesnt say how many ounces it holds. I checked the handy calculators on CT and the jar weighs 6 oz empty and 13 oz filled with water and the calculator says it will hold 6 oz wax.
  3. The only thing I can think of is maybe his favorite color pillar scented with his favorite food/cologne scent. Or maybe just do a smelly jelly for his car if he likes his car to smell good. Im sorry I cant help ya more..my hubby would cry if I gave him a candle for his birthday and Im not talking tears of joy either! ROFL Good luck anyway!
  4. Oh wow, those are so awesome! Did you use a mold? I tried doing a cup cake today just using a muffin pan and then spooning some whipped wax on top and it didnt come out right. Yours look so awesome..great job!
  5. Omg girl..it was a piece of cake. You could probably pop out 10 of these a day with no problem! I just filled the ball with chunks..be sure to shake the ball around to get the chunks to settle. When its full of chunks, fill it with clear, scented wax. In my case, I added vybar to keep it from getting anything on the surface like bubbles or mottles. I only had to use about 4 oz of overpour. The mold will hold 7 oz wax without chunks. It took maybe an hour from the time I poured the overpour until I unmolded it. Since there is only 4 oz of wax to set..it takes no time at all. I even forgot to spray my mold with mold release..so the last 5-7 mins, I put it in the freezer and it just came right out. I love this mold, cant wait to make more!!!
  6. Pulled this one out of the mold a lil bit ago. Im pleased with how it turned out. No seam lines, no surface blemishes. I used a special blend from Taylored Concepts, since they are local. Its a mottling wax but I added 1 tbsp of Vybar 260 to keep it from mottling. Its scented Fruit Slices. I wicked it with an LX-22. Thanks for looking!
  7. I just did a chunk ball with my new mold that I got from Peak today, and since i've been pouring containers all day, I wasnt in the habit of spraying before I pour. So...I poured this ball and now Im afraid I wont be able to get it out of the mold. Its in the freezer right now, Im hoping that will help.
  8. I used a #1/0 square braid cotton wick. Burns great in a 3" jar!! Unfortuanately tho, you have to trim the wick everytime before you light it or you'll get some smokin
  9. Here are some containers Im working on for a show Im doing late next month. These are all scented BB Muffin. Thanks for looking!
  10. LOL, I would love to see the penis. That has to be cute!! Nice job on the basket!
  11. Oh very nice! Im sure your cousin will love the basket! What all does the basket contain? Nice job!
  12. Ok, it turns out that CD and HTP wicks DO look alike and my supplier gave me the wrong ones or mislabeled them. Is this my fault? No, it isnt. I had never used a CD wick before i purchased these so I did not know what they looked like and did not realize that isnt what Im using. So MR rudeness...I am not fragile as you put it, but anyone with eyes can read your post and see that it was rude. Maybe you should choose your words a lil more carefully since there are alot of newbies and alot of ppl out there that post here that you DO NOT know what kind of person they are (ie, fragile) and do not know if your words will offend them or not. Like I said before, this board is supposed to be helpful, and I have not gotten much help from anyone, so I do alot of research on my own. I dont just sit around and post questions on this board and expect ppl to do all the work for me. There are times tho, that I cant find the answer Im looking for on the internet and need the help of experienced candlemakers that have tested and are better suited to point me in the right direction. I just dont seem to get that here. Most times I dont even have any questions, I just want to post a picture and see what ppl think about it and I might throw a tiny question in there like "what do you think about this mp?" I usually cant even get an answer for that and that is not the type of question you can search the internet for an answer for.
  13. If you feel I misread my label or maybe my supplier gave me the wrong wicks, then say so..but dont bluntly tell me that I dont know what wick Im using. I felt that your response was extremely rude when there were a million other ways you could have put it to me. I have alot of HTP wicks and some CD wicks and they look very much different so I know Im not using an HTP wick. If your an expert on wicks like Donita says, then fine...there are just other ways to tell me rather than insult my intelligence by telling me I dont know what Im using. You could say something like "I really dont think there is such a thing as CD 62's so you might wanna check with your supplier and make sure they gave you the right ones." That wouldve been a much nicer way put it. I just checked the website and your right...it doesnt list a CD 62..only CD 22...although the tag does say 62, so Im not sure what happened there...but i also looked at their HTP's and they dont even list an HTP 62, so it very obviously cant be an HTP can it? This board is supposed to be helpful, not hurtful...but I dont expect you to care MS RUDENESS
  14. Ok, This is really frustrating because I wait and wait and wait for ppl to reply to my posts and give me input when even the ugliest candles Ive ever seen posted get 2 pages of replies and then someone tells me that I dont know what kind of wick im using. I purchased them from a local supplier and I just rechecked the tag and it says they are CD 62's. I know the difference between HTP wicks and other wicks.. and they definately are not HTP's. Thank you for your input tho, its very much appreciated. Im giving up on this board. Im not getting any help from anyone here unfortunately so it does me no good to sit here and ask questions when nobody replies.
  15. I dont ever heat my mold with multiple layers because im afraid of melting the layer that has already set. That can cause the layers to bleed together. And if you wait for the layer to set again, the mold has already cooled off. Am I right??
  16. K, Here is a pic of the candle after 1 hour of burn time. I am pleased with how it is burning. I used 2 CD 62's. Very nice burn, no flickering, no smoking..i love these CD wicks! Please let me know what you think of the MP I got. Also, Im attaching a pic of another candle I made, same size candle..same wick, but only one...notice the very thick shell i got. That was about 3 hrs of burn time. Very disappointing. That is why I double wicked the christmas one.
  17. Thanks for all your nice comments! Mozzie, to answer your question, the mold is 4.5 x 5. I double wicked it because even when I use my biggest wick..one that is recommended for a candle that size, its not big enough. I end up with a shell about 2 inches thick and this tiny lil melt pool, so I decided to try double wicking and I think it works. I am posting a pic of it after 1 hour of burn time. I actually didnt plan on doing a christmas type candle. The colors were supposed to be cranberry and hunter green, but I guess maybe I didnt use enough dye so they didnt come out as dark as I planned. I used 1 dye chip pp of wax..next time maybe i'll go 1 1/2. I am very pleased with how the layers turned out. No bleeding, which was my biggest worry. Now I just have to figure out why I got pin holes..I poured at 175..was that not hot enough?
  18. Thank you for your replies. Something is up with the pic tho, its not as clear as it usually is. I think I messed up a setting on my camera. Gonna give it to hubby to play with =) I'll post a better pic if I can get one.
  19. This is not exactly what I had in mind. The red isnt dark enough. Its OK6228, Red is colored Cranberry and scented Blackberry Sage. Hunter Green is scented Blackberry Tea. The red got alot of bubbles and I used 1 Tbsp of Vybar 103 to eliminate those lil boogers. Anyway, Its going to be double wicked with 2 CD 62's, will be the first time I've ever double wicked a pillar so I will keep it for myself and use it for a tester. Here is a pic before and I will post the pic of it burning later. Even tho it didnt come out right, It was fun to make!! Hope you all like it.
  20. Yes, I am...I am going to wick up next time I make one. The wicks I used (2 CD-60's) will burn close to the edge but not all the way. Either that or maybe add one more wick since I only used 2.
  21. I bought these wall sconces at Wal-Mart and made the candles for it. Left one is OK6228, scented Vanilla with a lil bit of Vybar 103 and UV Inhibitor (since I used Vanilla and it tends to turn my white candles yellow) Other one is made same way, scented with Peaks White Tea & Ginger. I absolutely love this FO! I will definately order a big bottle of it next time. The sconces look so pretty hanging in my living room. Im really glad I bought them! Thanks for looking.
  22. Here's a couple I poured the other day. They came out very nice..very creamy looking. J223, Scented Peaks Apple Jack & Peel. I gave the heart dish to my sons teacher on the last day of school. I miss it already =( Thanks for looking
  23. That is awesome!! I would love to have a mold to make one of those! Very nice work!
