  1. I went back looking for the website that told me that, and I cant find it. When I do tho, i will post the link! I promise tho...it said in big red letters "THIS WAX WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE MOLD WITHOUT AN AIR PUMP" or something along those lines. I wish I could find the site
  2. Yeah, me either, thats why I had to go to a local supplier and get a 10lb slab of their own blend of mottling wax. I ordered a bunch of color and fo's from Peak and some molds from Handyman, they both came today, but my wax wont be here till next week so had to go get it. I'll have lots of wax now tho, when the others get there..got some Astorlite F (i absolutely cannot wait to use that one!!! I love the design!) and some OK6228. Im all set for the long weekend and about to leave early today!!!
  3. Has anyone heard or seen a supplier say that this wax will not come out of the mold without an air pump or something?? I read that on a website the other day, i was thinking of ordering some of that but after I read that i have to have an air pump to get it out of the mold..I decided to get Astorlite F. Just curious if anyone has used this wax and if you know anything about that. TIA, Candlelovr
  4. I havnt tried to email him but it really ticks me off that I cant get anyone to answer the phone. I kinda had an emergency and needed an answer right away, which probly isnt something I could get from email. I work for a shipping company so I was going to find out if he has shipped my order yet and if not, just to hold it at his place and I would schedule a driver in that area to go pick it up for me...I can have the shipping charges taken out of my paycheck. BUT....he freaking wouldnt answer the phone!!! I tried calling ALL DAY yesterday. The first time, it was noon over there, so I figured they're at lunch. But even at 4:00 WA time, I still couldnt get thru! Not very good customer service and I will not be ordering from them again!! Also, I did the order status on their website and it says on 8/30 "ship tomorrow" which would be 8/31. Its going Fedex ground, today is 9/2 and Fedex doesnt even show that its been picked up! If i could, I would cancel my order but they've already charged my credit card. Candlelovr AKA Steaming in Tx

  6. 5 days??? Holy Cow!!! I was really hoping to have it by tomorrow..my molds and fo's will be here tomorrow, and Issaquah is shipping my wax!! I wanted to spend my 3 day weekend candlemaking but cant really do that without wax!! Thanks for your reply!
  7. I ordered from these ppl because Peak didnt have the wax I needed. I cant get in touch with anyone at the office and I tried the guys cell and its the wrong number. Anyone who uses this company, please let me know if their c/s is good or not! Im getting worried!!! TIA, Candlelovr
  8. Hello All! Im interested in starting to shrink wrap my candles, can anyone tell me what i need? Nothing too extravagant, just a lil one if I can find it. I know nothing about shrink wrapping, so if you can tell me what accessories I will need also, I would appreciate it TIA, Candlelovr
  9. WOW, that is a wonderful idea! I would still like to have raffia but I will try the fabric! I have tons of it at home, so wont have to go buy it! THanks for the idea Candlelovr
  10. Im looking for bags for pillars and I need different sizes, that I can tie off at the top. I will check walmart for the raffia. I would also like to check into shrink wrapping but you need a machine for that right? If someone could also let me know where to find that and about how much it costs, I would really appreciate it! TIA, Candlelovr
  11. Hi all! Im looking for a good place to order packaging from, and the little ties, like the brown ones that look county type, like hay kinda? I hope you all know what I mean cause its 9am here and my brain isnt functioning properly yet TIA for your help! Candlelovr
  12. They are out of almost all the pillar waxes and they no longer carry my favorite mottle wax, IGI1274 I placed an order with them last night but it was only FO's and dye chips. I had to order my wax from a different supplier! When are they gonna be restocked with all this stuff???
  13. The strawberry molds I need are ranging from 17-24.00. Here is the link http://www.scottcrewcandlesupply.com/store/agora.cgi?product=Molds-Silicone-Fruit-Strawberries&hdr=mscottcrew Not prepared to spend that much right now..I just needed an inexpensive fruit mold for a project Im doing. 14. Hi everyone!! Ok...from what I understand, this wax is pretty popular. Can someone tell me the pros/cons of this wax? I just finished a slab of IGI1274 and I would like to try a new wax. Anyone else wants to tell me their fav wax, throw in your 2 cents Thanks Much All, Candlelovr
  15. Thanks! I already looked at scottscrew and I thought their prices were kinda high. I'll look into the other ones you mentioned! Candlelovr
  16. Does anyone know where I can find fruit slice molds? I need strawberries, cherries, and possibly apples and orange slices. I've looked all over the internet and cant find anything affordable. TIA for your help! Candlelovr
  17. I actually let the 1st layer set up longer than 30-45 mins. It was pretty much completely set up when I poured the 2nd layer. And as far as splitting apart, it hasnt yet and doesnt look like its going to!! Regardless, Im going to follow your instructions and see how that works. Is there some other trick to it like pouring the ligher layer first so that the bleeding wont show? I thought someone said they do that. Anyway, Im out of pillar wax now so I wont be making more till i can order some. I'll try to post pics when I can find my camera!
  18. Yep, I probly did pour it too fast. How about for layered rustics? I wanted to try that next, but of course, it'll be at least a week since Im out of pillar wax =( Just picturing it, this is how I think it is done, someone correct me if Im wrong: Rustics have to be poured into a very cold mold..correct? So I would pour my first layer into a very cold mold, let it set for a bit, then put it back in the freezer to get it cold again for the next layer? I saw some really cool layered rustics and I would love to try my hand at it!! Wouldnt putting the first layer in the freezer cause it to shrink and pull away from the sides of the mold? That part confuses me TIA, Candlelovr
  19. I was just looking on Peaks website and they dont have Astorlite F listed (and they are sold out of almost all the pillar waxes). I wanted the Astor F for the feathery look it gives to candles. Does anyone know if they've stopped carrying it or what ?? If they have, what alt wax can I use? TIA, Candlelovr
  20. I just saw the leather and lace candles and yes, they are very nice! I sent her a pm so maybe she'll let me in on her lil secret Thats exactly what Im trying to do tho, as far as distinct colors...her black didnt bleed into her ivory..thats what i want! Candlelovr
  21. No, I didnt see that candle, i should go look! Im just trying to do a layer. I just started a new job last monday and I was talking to this girl I work with about candles and she made the comment that she loves layered candles that are different scents, so I was gonna try to make her one. I didnt heat the mold before I poured so i got lots of little bubbles...YUCK! I've made ugly candles before but I think this one takes the cake!!!
  22. Oh, and next time....i DEFINATELY need to heat the mold
  23. Ok, thanks for your input, I will try that!! When I poured the black, I waited about 2 hours to pour the yellow. So basically, when I put the mold upright, the black had set up enough to where it didnt move. I poured the yellow 25 degrees lower than the black hoping that that would keep them from bleeding together. I do want distinct seperation between the colors..no bleeding!!! So how long should I wait next time before pouring the 2nd layer? 5 or 6 hours maybe? Thanks! Candlelovr
  24. Im curious how you guys do your layered candles. I tried one today, tilted layer of black first and then filled it up with yellow (was supposed to be ivory but i put the wrong color in...dontcha hate that??) anyway, the black bled into the yellow really bad..i wanted a bright yellow. I used 1274, poured the black at 200 and the yellow at 175 into a room temp mold. I cant post a picture but it is FUGLY! Can someone please tell me what Im doing wrong? I wanted to make a layered candle for a girl I work with by Monday! Thanks!!! Candlelovr
