  1. I absolutely LOVE how this one turned out!!! Red, Blue, and Pink chunks, scented cinnamon, and OK6228 overpour scented fruit slices! Smells heavelnly!!! I love this wax! I can pour it over chunks at 175 and there's no bleeding!!! Yayyy! I think the pic is better than the last one I posted also! Oh, Also some votives, got 2 more in the making Thanks for looking!
  2. Very nice! I have got to get one of those triangle molds! I love it!
  3. I know we all love candle making, thats why we do it...the question is what does your significant other hate about it?
  4. I just tell mine that if it smells good, its FO! ROFLMAO
  5. There was a thread about what you love most about candlemaking. Now, lets see what your significant other HATES most about candlemaking!! I think mine hates it that I took over the entire kitchen! We dont eat dinner at the table anymore because I have boxes of supplies all over it!! But, he never says anything, I just know he hates it!! Next!
  6. I know what you mean! I was trying to make a milk shake candle and when I would put the whip cream on, it would stand up in a cone shape at first but then slowly flatten down...i tried 3 times and then got frustrated and decided I'd had enough. Not sure how to make it stand up, but if you find out, I'd like to know also!
  7. Me too, about 175-180, then take it off the heat and let it cool to the pouring temp while stiring in the FO
  8. thank you! Im gonna pour another one soon, I'll be sure to do that! Never used a palm wax before
  9. Thank you very much for the replies! Im very pleased with how this turned out...I was expecting to only see some red dots, since this wax is so opaque, but the chunks show very nicely! The entire top is red because the mold was hot, so when i put the red chunks it, they started melting. I was supposed to heat the mold right? I never did that before, but im using a new wax, and I thought with OK6228, if you dont heat the mold, the surface wont be nice. Now I think Im gonna do another one tho, that was fun!! I'll post when Im done!
  10. Forgot to mention, this is the chunk made with OK6228, scented Pink Sugar Dont remember what the container is scented, but it smells good
  11. Ok, gonna try to post pics, they may be a lil dark, my camera sucks!!!
  12. Hmmm, just burned one and the middle was hollow...guess it does need a repour..Bummer!
  13. Thank you for your reply! Would you happen to have a pic of the chunk you speak of? So I can see what it looks like Thanks!
  14. I think I just found the answer to my question " Candles made with OK6228/1 are opaque"
  15. Is OK6228 good for chunk candles? Is it translucent so that the chunks show thru? Im trying to use up my left over wax...couldnt even tell ya what kind it is, its THAT old! I can tell you that the chunks are pink and I wanted to know if i use 6228 as the overpour, if the chunks will show thru or not! Thanks Much for your info!!
  16. So this wax is no shrink huh? I just poured 2 votives, they were completely hardened in less than 20 minutes and I didnt have to do a repour! How cool is that???
  17. Yeah, I know, I used to post pics back when I first started..ya know, all the "fuglies"...and on top of them being fugly, the pic was always too dark to really see it. Guess thats probly not such a bad thing! But, it would be now that they're prettier and I want to show them off! I could take the pic but we dont have the picture program installed on our pc anymore. I wanna get a better camera anyway
  18. I made a tilted layered pillar on Labor day, blue, ivory, then blue again, and scented it Blueberry Muffin! The next day I shipped it to my Father/Mother in law and they love it!!! My MIL was going on about how pretty it was and how good it smells...and how creative it was! My FIL was asking me how I did the layers...it was just awesome to hear someone tell me how good my candle is!!! And it was perfect timing apparently, she is making Mussels for dinner tomorrow night and needed a candle to cover up the stinch! LOL Ahhh, now Im in the mood to make a candle! Got Astor F in there that I havnt touched yet
  19. Hello and welcome to the board! Im sure you will love it here..everyone is so helpful and informative!! And be sure to check out the gallery! There's some real masterpieces in there! If you've been pouring for 15 years, Im sure you pop out some beauties too, so be sure and post pics!! I cant answer your question, I dont make tarts, but just wanted to welcome you!
  20. Personally, I cant stand metal molds. I got one for my first mold, made a candle, then bought some alum. molds from Peak and I love them! I love that I dont cut up my hands trying to clean them out and i love the concave top that you cannot get with metal molds! I would definately go with alum!! HTH!
  21. I had actually posted a question about the light to dark layering when I made my last layered pillar and it bled really bad. I used black and yellow, poured the black first and then when I poured the yellow, it turned a blackish yellow..yuk! I dont know if anyone answered me on that one or not, but I had thought of using that method! Thanks!
  22. Bump Really need to find out about this please?? Someone???
  23. It was delivered Fedex ground and yes, the driver was a lil rough with the box Im sure, but I dont believe that is the reason for it being damaged. Had the stuff been packaged correctly, it would have made it here safe and sound. He's replacing it so Im going to stop complaining
