I received an email from Jim this morning saying that he is going to send me a new 5 lb bag of Astorlite F and a new slab of OK6228 on Monday. Im very glad to hear this, but Im going to be on the edge of my seat until the package gets here, hopefully not damaged this time.

Well, I definately will never order from them again! I just hope they are decent about this whole thing and do whats right. They owe me some wax or my money for the wax, either way.

Im thinking of ordering some of this for layered pillars. I have the problem with dark colors bleeding into my lighter colors. So I was wondering if I use this mixed in with the darker colors, it will raise the mp so I wont have the bleeding? Does anyone else do that? TIA!!

Girl..dont do it...there are better places to spend your money! I swear I will never order from them again!!! This is just rediculous what they did. The damage was caused because of poor packaging...the slab wasnt wrapped, so it broke in transit and the edge of the wax cut a slit in the bag and spilled wax everywhere. All I can say is.......MORONS!!!

No, I actually didnt take pictures cause i had it delivered to work and the pellets were coming out of the bottom of the box and my boss would have a hissy if he saw it, so i had to clean it up and i taped up the bag that was split open and put all the wax that fell out into a plastic bag....Im so upset! And I still cant get a hold of this guy on the phone! I sent an email, he doesnt respond to it by the time I get here tomorrow and offer to send me new wax, omg....im not gonna go there

OMG OMG OMG! I got my pkg today and this crap is damaged!!! I got 2-5lb bags of Astorlite F, which come in pellet form. One of the bags was sliced open and half the bag was in the bottom of the box!! They also didnt wrap up my OK6228, just threw the slab in the box and shipped it out! Needless to say, the wax is filthy!!! How in the hell can I use dirty wax???? Im so freaking mad! I sent Jim an email asking for a replacement

I used 1/4 oz for each layer...3 layers = 3/4 oz

Im measuring by weight...i have a digital scale, i put a measuring cup on the scale and poured the FO until it said 1/4 oz. Now Im thinking thats not enough tho...thats only 3/4 oz for a pound and a half of wax. But then again, this is for my inlaws and they dont like really strong candles.

Those were my thoughts exactly so I recalculated and came up with .0291 also. I did 9.7 x .3 and thats how i came up with 2.91..then I did 9.7 x .3% and came up with .0291..but...I decided to use 1/4 tsp for 9oz wax (instead of 9.7) since Im not sure what .0291 is in tsp's. Im going to try to do a rustic..gonna pour the 1st layer at 140, wait till it has a skin and then pour 2nd layer at 145 and 3rd layer at 150. You guys think that will do it? 1st and 3rd layer is blue (scented BB Muffin)..still trying to decide what middle layer will be...wanting a light color, was thinking grey or ivory...can someone give me an idea of what would look good between 2 layers of blue??

OK you math whizes I need your help to make sure I am calculating this correctly! Im about to make a 3 layer pillar..here are the specs: 4 x 4.5 round mold Holds 29 oz wax each layer will be 9.7 oz wax Im trying to figure out how much FO and UV inhibitor I need to use for each layer. If the UV says 1 tsp per pound of wax (0.3% by wt), I come up with 2.91 oz of UV for 9.7 oz of wax. Is that right?? Needless to say, Math was never my best subject TIA!

Hi all.. I was wondering, I know there is a post somewhere but I did a seach and cant find anything. How do you measure FO? By weight or volume? And I've heard that with heavier FO's, you use less than the normal 1 oz pp of wax. How can you tell if the FO is heavy? I have alot of 1oz bottles of FO from peak, so normally I just dump the whole bottle in, if its 1 lb of wax. But I recently got some bigger 4 and 8 oz bottles and I need to know how to measure out the right amount. TIA

I didnt order from her but her husband does polyurethane molds, I ordered from him but it was her that kept in contact with me about my order! I would definately recommend ordering from them but I think they dont make the molds until they're ordered so it may take a few days for them to ship them out to you. Hi all! Ive made a few gel candles but never scent them. This time I decided to use strawberry FO (it is compatible) in my red gel, and seems it kept the gel from gel-ifying..know what Im gettin at? Even after sitting overnight, I touched the gel and it was all over my finger! Does all FO do this to gel or might it have been just the one I used? TIA

I also ordered from Moldmakinghandyman, and they are in PA (Im in TX) she sent it usps priority and it only took 2 days to get to me. PA is a looooooong way from me!!! I guess cause she sent it Priority mail, thats a 2 day delivery I think.

LOL, Awesome! I would like to see what that looks like! Well I finished the milk shake..its banana split..I cant post a picture, but its yellow icecream for banana, a layer of choclate fudge, then a layer of strawberry syrup with chunks of strawberry, then whip cream, crushed almonds and a cherry on top. It looks really good to me! My husband works for steak n shake, if anyone knows of that place, he's an asst manager. I made the shake for them to display on their cash counter and hopefully, if they really like it, they'll order one for each table It was really fun to make it...everything is the perfect shade of yellow, brown, whatever..the only problem I had was when i put the whip cream on top, the strawberry syrup kept running over the sides of the glass, so I put it in the fridge a lil bit to harden the gel, but that caused it to pull away from the sides of the glass a lil bit. Not a huge deal I'd say! BTW, i had to use real nuts for the top cause thats the only part I couldnt do with wax....how long do you think it'll take before the nuts go bad and dont look good anymore???

Thanks for all the replys! I only need to whip a couple oz of wax probably. Its just for the top of a milkshake. I will try to find a good show on tv and get motivated to whip!! Candlelovr

I know, I guess Im just used to Peak..they always have shipped my order the day they get it and it only takes 2 days to get to me (Im in Tx) I dont like waiting either..2 days isnt bad tho, 5 days is!!! Candlelovr

Hi all! Im trying to make a milkshake candle!! I need to do some whipped cream but Im not sure how to do it. The wax I have is a parrafin pillar wax, from a local supplier, so I couldnt tell ya what kind it is, but I really need it to look like whipped cream. I have to use a white crayon for the coloring cause I dont have any white dye. This candle wont be burned tho, its just for show...advertising you could say TIA, candlelovr

3 days after I placed the order!! That means coming from WA fedex ground, it will take 4 or 5 days to get to me, so including the weekend and holiday, Its gonna take 8 days for me to get my order.
