  1. Thanks for the tip Karen! I love the smell of this one! It will be really nice in the fall!
  2. Debra this might be a question for you since you know Starville oils. I ordered a sample of this from JBN and it smells good but I don't have the High Maintenance candle from Tyler to compare. I was also curious if anyone has tried the Starville one and the JBN one to compare the two?
  3. Okay I confess I just don't love lavender. A friend of mine really does though so I am trying to find a good one. I have searched the board and have tried the following. Anyone have any feedback on what you really like or does well for you? I think part of my problem is that I just don't love lavender. I think I may just need to mix it with something. I have thought about vanilla, chamomile, lilac and a couple of other things. I think straight lavender has a bit to it that I don't like. I have tried the following: BCN lavender CS lavender (this one might be a good base to mix with) Lavender type NG- this one is okay although I don't really smell the lavender lavender fields JBN- haven't put it in wax yet
  4. Just received some samples from Bramble Berry and all I can say is Yum! I wanted to try their energy and relaxing. Both smell really nice OOB. I also added some buttercream and snickerdoodle and am liking that too!
  5. I usually find that creme brulee's throw well and don't need as much cure time so I am going to give it a few days before I say it isn't working. I agree that I have heard so many good things about it. I really expected it to be "the one". The CT on the one that I poured at 1.5 oz is nice though. I think I'll burn it tonight and see what I think. Maybe this one just needed a little extra FO to make it "wow". I really want to love it so I am not giving up on it yet! Debra how long do you let yours cure for?
  6. Boy you guys sure know how to make it hard! I think you added to my list instead of narrowing it down! It's always good to hear feedback on what you like and does well though. I use 6006 and add a little extra soy now thanks to a fabulous tip I learned on this board. Here is most of my list to try: birthday cake mediterranean fig (although I just ordered a sample of this from Elements) orange chiffon coconut cream pie lavender vanilla plumberry spice mandarin spice sugar cookie hot apple pie country gift shop cinnamon vanilla monkey mouth sugar corn pudding snuggle baby southern vanilla I haven't even heard of mandarin coconut, purple cow and cleopatra so I must look those up now too! Sage and sweetgrass sounds interesting and so does the zucchinni bread. See why I was hoping there was a sample pack!:rolleyes2 Okay I seriously want to try so many of these so I think I'll narrow it down based on the feedback here.
  7. First of all you did a nice job! I like the first one the best as well but agree that I would take the price off of the label. I love simple and clean lines but think that different font combinations and colors makes a label pop. I think you have just the right amount of information to not clutter the label but get the important information on there.
  8. Haven't burned any yet as I just poured last night but the CT on the MC SOCP is really nice. I also like the NG orange sherbet, the candle makers orange danish. I also ordered NG orange danish but haven't poured that one yet. I'll update once I actually test them.
  9. I actually thought it wasn't that strong. I used 6006 with a little extra ez soy added in. I did it at 6% though. I poured another one and upped the fo to 1.5 oz/per pound. It has a good CT. Haven't burned the new one yet as I am still letting it cure. I'll let you know what I think. I have heard such good things about it that it could be that I have candle nose since I have been pouring a lot lately, it's just not throwing well in my wax or I didn't let it cure quite long enough- I think I gave it 4-5 days before I burned it. I'll keep you updated.
  10. I was looking on thier site and all I see offered is the 2 oz. size. Just wondering if they have sample packs or 1 oz sizes available and I am missing it? $4 per 2 oz size will add up in a hurry!
  11. Thanks for the whipped cream suggestion!
  12. These all sound wonderful. My NG and Millcreek order came in today so I'll be pouring some orange yummy stuff tonight. Can't wait to try it out. I love the idea about mixing orange with so many things too. I was thinking an orange and cinnamon might be a good combo too!
  13. The good news is that I have a NG order arriving tomorrow and samples of both Orange sherbet and Orange danish are in there!
  14. So I am retarded. I poured 3 creme brulee candles to compare and guess what. The one I thought was starville was actually BC. No wonder I thought they smelled the same. Good to know that my nose knows the difference I guess! I am going to test the starville one out now to see how it burns!
  15. Okay so I ordered just a few samples from The candlemakers store. Mainly wanted to get some wick stickers from them. I picked up: Orange Vanilla- I have heard good things about this. OOB I pick up more orage so we'll see how it does in wax Apple Butter Christmas eve Orange Danish- This smells AWESOME OOB Orange dreamsickle Can you tell I am looking for an orange fragrance. I have some MC sweet orange chili pepper coming too.
  16. Okay I am test burning my starville creme brulee and it is very good. Just as advertised! OOB I thought it might have some chocolate in it but I am not picking up on that wtih the HT. I actually kind of think it smells similar to BC creme brulee. I am not testing them side by side but just based on my thought of theirs that was my initial thought? Anyone tried both and think the same thing?
  17. mzpickles I am SO excited about your results. I love, love, love that cream from LM. I am going to order some of the pistachio dream cake oil this week (probably tonight-ha ha). I have some whipped cream from BC but was never crazy about it but maybe it will work well with this mixture. I'll also do a search of who has whipped cream FO. I am sure your right that most ebay sellers probably get their FO from the major places we do.:yay:
  18. I placed my first order this week but it was pretty timely. I think it was sent out within a couple of days and I got it the next day. I am in Texas though.
  19. I received my daystar samples and the ile flottante isn't quite the pistachio I had in mind although I think it will be a nice fragrance. Just noticed tonight that they have pistachio ice cream back again. Bummer since I just ordered this week. I plan to try out these other suggestions though to see what I can come up with!
  20. Thanks for letting me know. I think I'll try a few of those to satisfy my curiosity if nothing else!
  21. Glad to hear you guys like them. I have oredred a ton of samples from companies in the past and never had a problem so I am sure it's just a random thing. I can't wait to play around with what I purchased! The sunwashed linen probably isn't bad it just kind of overwhelmed the package and was intense! I received a few more so I'll post my thoughts on here after I play around with them this weekend. I want to try the Green tea and lemongrass now myself. :rolleyes2 Glad to know the white tea and berries has done so well because I really like it so far.
  22. Thanks for the replies! I checked JS after you guys mentioned it and I don't think she has it anymore. However I am very encouraged about your results mzpickles. I hope it works in the candle and I am glad you were inspired and tried it. I think I'll try to work on ordering some pistachio FO myself this next week!
  23. That's good to know. I wanted to try some new things and I think this one is going to be fun.
  24. I just got my CS samples in and one of the bottles had a loose top so half the bottle leaked out and I can't smell anything but that FO when I try to smell them! The true test is the wax test anyway. I was just excited to smell. I think I have determined that I am already not a fan of the sunwashed linen. From what I could smell though I already think I am going to like the Strudel and Spice and the white tea and berries. I think the sage and pomegrante smells a little different and fun too.
