  1. I don't know anyone that wants a candle that spills over. It makes a mess and can stain. If you wick your pillar to leave a thin lip, it will eventually consume itself and not tunnel, which is something else you don't want.
  2. Has anyone used the leaf floater mold from Pourette? I just got some and they were not what I expected. I'm debating sending them back, but if someone can tell me how to use them I might keep them, or at least one. Keep any eye on the classifieds . Thanks for any help!
  3. I can't tell you exactly where it is, but she (or someone) did post the instructions because I made a mental note to try them. Did you try a search?
  4. I guess I'm going to have to be the one to ask - what does twisting the wick do to the burn?
  5. Since I started this thread, I'd just like to jump in and say, um, WOW! You people are doing your homework! I was expecting a very simple answer and this became quite an education. Thank you! Not that it matters, but I'm really impressed with how knowledeable you are about the industry and its products. I feel humbled.
  6. Thanks all! I really love the Archipelagio (not sure about spelling) candles and their packaging which is essentially a label stuck directly to the candle. It's a square/rectangle. Might just have to experiment...
  7. Good to know! But seriously, isn't soy at least supposed to be better environmentally than paraffin?
  8. Does anyone know where to get labels that will stick right on a pillar? Thanks!!
  9. I tried the iron on transfers from AC Moore, (forget the brand). I put my company name on a cotton t-shirt and logo on a canvas tote bag. It worked fine and looked nice...in the right light. But mostly you could see the edges of the transfer which I think cheapens the overall look. :undecided
  10. I've only made candles with paraffin, so my knowledge of wax beyond that is pretty limited. So I apologize if this is a dumb question, but... which burns cleaner - beeswax or soy? And I guess by "cleaner", I mean less soot (I think). Thanks for the help!
  11. My best friend's mil loves lemon, but she doesn't want the spruced up lemon scents, just straight lemon, and I don't want to spend a ton ordering samples from every supplier claiming to carry plain lemon. Any ideas where I can get a real lemon FO? Thanks!
  12. I haven't tried Fudge Brownie or German Choc. Cake, but Hot Cocoa smells like the real thing. And it's strong! LOVE it!
  13. Okay - I think it's pretty clear what I'll be trying . I also love Peak's Red Clove. That's a standard for my Winter collection. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will definitely give them a try!
  14. Those are gorgeous! I might have to bite the bullet and switch to rustics and layered - they just take so much more time.
  15. Any suggestions for a strong, autumn cinnamony FO. I love Peaks Amish Harvest, but I need something like yesterday and I'm too far away. TIA!
