  1. Thanks everyone The green one is Absinthe, and I used a Kelly Green liquid colorant from TKB on that one
  2. my method is the same as carol's
  3. Here are a few of my recent soaps:
  4. man, I WISH they would raise their prices to $7.95 per pack, I'd probably get a flood of new business. Scentsy is disgustingly huge around here.
  5. I dropped Nog off the end, just called it Amaretto, and it started to move a little better. It still hasn't ever been a big mover though, which surprises me because I really think it smells awesome.
  6. I've never had any luck making a pure white bar of soap using milk. I've managed a nice tan, but that's it.
  7. I do like that naming idea. I guess with a big enough marketing and legal budget, you can trademark just about anything you want lol, I mean didn't they trademark the word "tart"?
  8. ugh.. I already hate how high shipping prices are! I'm going to have to hold myself to my vow to buy in bigger bulk from fewer suppliers in 2013.
  9. I found one with an ingredients tab, it says: Key ingredients: Glycerin: for enhanced moisturizing properties Sandalwood fragrance gee, how helpful. I saw something about triple milled.... my guess is a base of some sort.... yup: http://www.caswellmassey.com/about/art.aspx
  10. ditto on the shower caddy. really extends the life of my soaps.
  11. I have, they were very nice, no issues with them.
  12. short and sweet - I mix oils, water, and lye and it turns into soap as it sits over night.
  13. I'm thinking of adding some of the single, scalloped edge type tarts to my home fragrance line up, & wondered how do they do for you compared to clamshell tarts? (which I currently offer) Do people still like them/buy them or have you noticed more people ignoring single tarts in favor of clamshell tarts?
  14. lol, my "dining room" is now my soap/candle facility also, but it has been completely taken over. it no longer even remotely resembles a dining room... every available surface (and added shelving and extra tables) is covered with product or ingredients, or totes of stuff. one day I plan to get a building of my own or at least add a room on to the house, but until then... I'm improvising.
  15. I opted for parasoy for my candles and tarts. I've had good luck with it, I like how it burns, throws, and looks. I've found a favorite I like to work with so I'm sticking with it
  16. I personally use a 25 watt at work, and at home I use the hot plate with warmer bowl style; some of my customers use 25 watts they have bought from me, some use scentsy (I'm not sure what the wattage on those things is?)
  17. This is exactly what I do too. I get the full sheet labels from Online Labels
  18. Oddly enough, Lumberjack smells really good lol
  19. sorry, I just saw you'd asked me something lol they generally last at least 2 days at a continuous burn, most of the time longer, a week if it's like, during work hours only type burn, some people say even longer than that. It's a very strong, long lasting thrower for me, I always warn people it'll just about run you out of a small space! I use a parasoy blend too
  20. My main focus is my soaps and B&B, so at the moment I only offer 1 size candle and 6-cavity clamshell tarts both in a variety of scents. I did start testing a larger sized container candle just last week. I doubt I'll expand my candle line to anything beyond that.
  21. I use it at 6% and it works very well
