  1. Dang it, thought I bookmarked it but I guess not..... I'll search some more and see if I can find it... I'll post when I do, sorry! Found it!!!! http://www.ehow.com/how_5556423_make-scented-soy-beads-home.html
  2. Well, my pictures didn't come out very well - but thought I'd show a few batches I poured yesterday.... the blue/green block's cut pictures were to fuzzy to post. The blue/green is Seaside from Millcreek Soy, the bright pink is Very Sexy for her from Millcreek and the burgandy swirl one is Mediterranean Fig, also from Millcreek (love her fo's in soap). Oh, these are 8.5# batches and I'm cutting them with a cutter my husband built for me years ago... Happy Saturday :smiley2: Judy
  3. I just found a site describing how to make them, sounds just like doing the aroma beads ~ may take a little longer to absorb the fragrance though.
  4. Sorry if this has been discussed, searched couldn't find anything..... Really curious about these, saw them on a website and am wondering basically, how to make them.... does fragrance oil soak into the soy wax beads like it does the aroma beads? I think these would be a really cool option for the melters... Thanks for any direction that can be offered :smiley2: Judy
  5. ...and when turned on they're really pretty. Still no reply to my e-mails
  6. Called the number Sharon found and it just rings and rings and rings....... I'm so frustrated with these people! I love their melters, but hate hate hate their customer service! Judy
  7. Thanks for the phone number Sharon - - - I did search for a phone number but wasn't able to find one. I'll try it on Monday. And thanks Carol for the Vista Wholesale link but I'm pretty sure Vista and JD Wholesale are the same place as Vista Wholesale shows up on my credit card statement when I purchase from JD Wholesale. Wonder why two different business names .......
  8. Has anyone ever had to try and get a hold of anyone at JD Wholesale??? I have ordered from them a few times and have an issue with a couple broken items... send e-mails thru their 'contact us' and no reply. They don't even have a phone number on their website. . . I guess my next question should be, does anyone know where else I can find the plug in melters they have (the ones that look like they have paint dripping down the sides??? pic below) They do sell pretty well for us but I don't like buying from a company that treats customers as they do....
  9. OMG - I can't say I've ever seen such 'cool' looking soap - my jaw literally dropped a little farther with each picture!!! ... have to run out and show these to my husband.................
  10. JD Wholesale is just the price shown,,, scentoils.com does have you set up an account and they offer a 40% wholesale discount.
  11. Yep, that's the company I couldn't think of - they have nice warmers :smiley2:
  12. We buy from Jackel as well as JD Wholesale and www.scentoils.com - - I'd say Jackel has the designs closest to Scentsy - the other two suppliers we buy from have the retro/psychedelic look we're after. Someone posted a link to another supplier once,,,we requested their catalog and their warmers were very close to scentsy but I cannot remember their name right now. I've got their catalog at the shop, I'll post it once I get there... their warmers were very tasteful and conventional :smiley2: Judy
  13. I've searched the ceramic supply sites with no luck, I just can't imagine these 'units' aren't out there somewhere... a friend built us some really neat melters originally designed for tea lights. Well, the melting dish is just a little to far from the heat so my husband thinks he can install the a little halogen light kit in them..... if we could just find them!
  14. Would anyone know where to buy the little high intensity light kits you'd use if you were making your own tart warmers? Thanks in advance, Judy
  15. I get mine from Cajun - they are much less expensive than most and they ship quick. Never had any problem with them!!
  16. Wick pins would solve the problem though, wouldn't it?? Hmmm, don't know how many wick pins we've got but that could be a solution until we get through these 1,000 - this time next year ! Ha!
  17. We use this wick in votives, so no pulling tight..... We buy quite a bit of other supplies from this company and have been otherwise satisfied. We just wondered if it was *us* ~ maybe we're just hard to please.....
  18. In an effort to save $$ we ordered the large quantity of wick assemblies from a supplier (won't mention the name). These came literally wadded and stuffed into a bag, 1,000 of them. Are we being unreasonable in thinking that they should not be shipped this way? They are all bent, broken at the tab - - we have to literally spend more time straightening them, replacing the tabs at an unbroken point in the wick........... We did contact them, they said 'sorry, that's how they come'.............. huh???!!!! Here is how they look after we 'unwad' them -----
  19. Thanks for the feedback everyone - yes, we have found that they do burn fast...... ok, we will keep working at these aiming for a no drip beeswax taper. Thanks again!
  20. Have a question re: rolled beeswax candles. I ordered some sheets and after reading as much as I could find regarding the correct wick I ordered some #2/0 and #3/0 square braid. While doing all my 'research' it seemed the wick didn't matter much as most of the info was on craft sites; easy projects to do with the kids, etc. 'Just take a piece of wick and roll it up'. (Could it not matter I wondered?) Well, I rolled up 3 candles, all about 1" in diameter, one with the #2, one with the #3 and one with some rrd37 I had (why not try it cuz all I needed was a piece of wick, right?) Results: the #3 and the #2 all melted over the edges fairly quick, leading me to believe wick too big. The rrd37 actually did the best, kind of consumed itself as it went down.... I guess after all this rambling my question is - - do rolled beeswax candles 'drip' like a traditional taper or should they consume themselves as they burn?? Probably an important bit of info I should know so I know what I'm trying to do Thanks! Judy
  21. This wax is going to put me in the funny farm :pWe are having such inconsistent results with our "patterns" I want to scream.... anyway, my question is - does remelting the same wax (like 2-3 times) affect the wax in an adverse way? Don't know if anyone has an opinion on that. I know regular soy or paraffin wax it wouldn't affect, but just wondering if it hurts the palm wax.................. just a small note - we are having pretty good luck with the RRD 40 nst 2 wicks and also the CSN 14... now if we could just get them to look like they're supposed to ! Thanks so much
  22. Thanks everyone! I did download a template from somewhere (I think on line labels) in Word, but I am so terrible with working in tables! I wanted to insert a small logo and one or two text boxes.... well, forget that. I finally just chucked the logo and did text only (when I layer objects in word I tend to not be able to get ahold of them again) and then one line of my text missed the label, then I ran out of labels.......... so, it was a very productive day Ho hum. How much do I sell these (stupid) things for????????????? Oh well, if my time was worth anything it would be a different matter
  23. Anyone familiar with this fragrance? I've never smelled it but a friend says its great, I'd like to find something similar. Thanks again!
  24. I've been using the Avery 18667 labels, but like I said, I hate feeding the sheet through over and over.... maybe there's a template for that label where I can actually sell all 80 labels at once and fill them in and print them all at once (does that make sense??) They look so cute labeled, but it's a pain to get them printed
