  6. Just made a batch tonite of Goat Milk and Honey. I used canned GM. I used half of my liquid amount of water and dissolved the lye into that. I poured the lye mixture into the oils then proceeded with making the soap until trace and poured the GM (which is the other half of my liquid amount), incorporated it into the soap mixture and poured into my mold. I hope that made sense.

  9. I love Select Shades! The color chart is pretty much dead on. I am pretty impressed with them. I have not tried the Chemistry Store colorants, so I can't compare.

  16. Take a sliver off one of your bars and give it a try. When you have it lathered up, lightly touch to tip of your tongue with your finger. That will let you know if it is zappy and it will still need to sit for a while. I do CPOP (Cold Process Oven Process )and every time I take it out of the oven, I never have zap. I use a piece right away, however, before I use it in the bath, I let it sit for 2-3 weeks. When I do straight CP, it usually does take a couple of days for the zap to go away. If you don't want to tongue test your soap, just wash your hands with it. If it stings, that means it needs to sit more. I know you have to be dying to try it.
  17. That is why I don't order from them, the shipping is just too high for me. However, they do have everything you need.
  18. For ground oatmeal, I use 1 tablespoon for a 2 lb. batch. Here is a picture of my Lavender and Oats Bar. This should give you an idea of what 1 tablespoon of ground oatmeal looks like in soap. I only used lavender FO in this, did not use lavender buds. I haven't used honey, yet, so I can't help you with that one.
  19. Here are a couple that I use: http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/default.aspx http://www.the-soap-dish.com/index.htm http://www.aromaticmills.com/store/ http://www.sarahsspacreations.com/supplies.asp http://www.tropicalbutters.com/ HTH:cheesy2:
