  1. Is Greenleaf still in business. I cant seem to get their website to work. I used to get a couple oils from them years ago and was hoping to place a new order.
  2. If I were to add an essential oil to my soy candles, would I use less than what I would normally use of my FO's (1oz pp)? Seems like the essential oil would be much stronger so less would be needed? I would like to try some gardenia essential oil. Thanks
  3. I have bought my palm wax from candlescience in the past but I see they no longer carry it. Nu scents does not carry it anymore either. Where do you get your palm wax from (glass glow)? I am familiar with Peaks but am looking for other options. I live in the midewest btw. If there is a supplier near Illinois, that would be great! Thanks!
  4. Thanks so much LovelyLathers. What you said made perfect sense and that website was very interesting indeed.
  5. I saw an advertisement on etsy for a salt scrub. The listing said it was enriched with mango, banana and coconut. Doesnt the fruit go bad in the scrub? How do they add this with out it rotting? Does the salt act as a natural preservative or is a commercial preservative necessary and if so what kind? Thanks guys, I'd really like to learn more about these scrubs
  6. I've tried all 3 and my I like the xcel the best. For me it was easy to wick and had good ct and ht.
  7. Does anyone know of a soy wax that comes in slabs? I am familiar with 6006 but am looking for an all soy wax. Or is soy just too soft to be manufactured in slabs?
  8. I have so many cs oils around. I love their oils and would like to try some in my mp and cp soap. Has anyone tried using candle science fo's in their soap or does anyone know if its safe to do so? Thanks p.s. Im going to email them the question but wanted to know if anyone here has first hand exp soaping their oils.

  10. Does anyone know where I can get cd 24 wicks? Ive looked at all the usual places (CS,LS,NS,NG ect.) and they just dont carry them that big. I've also checked with a couple of big wick manufactures and they do make and sell them but their min order is way too much for me. Any ideas? Thanks guys
  11. As for soy, Im really torn between these two. They both have their quirks but I am happy enough with them. Just wondering which one, given the choice of the c3 or 415, (the c3 has additives , the 415 is pure soy) people have a preference for and why. I am loving the look of the c3 as it is not very hard to get a creamy nice looking candle but im finding that the 415 may have a bit better ht. Just wondering what others experiences are with these two waxes.
  12. So, my brand new palm wax from CS is apparently the "bad batch". I got 2 10lb bags of the glass glow and they turned out not like any gg candles I've made before. They are still pretty but more resemble the candles you guys have been talking about. Kinda of a shimmery frosty look. Even though its not the GG I've worked with in the past, I really like the look. If I wanted to make more candles that looked like this is there a certain type of palm to request or look for or is this just a total fluke?
  13. When I'm working with soy, if the tops need a little finishing, I just use my hair dryer on high heat. However, when working with palm, I'm finding the wax too hard to melt with my dryer. I would be willing to purchase a heat gun but thought I would check here first, will a heat gun work with palm wax? Thanks! Stacey
  14. I would not use those molds any more. period.
  15. Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
  16. maybe soak them in a week vinegar solution and them let them air dry?
  17. Im not sure of the technicalities maybe Stella or Top could chime in but at least to me, the wickless does seem to burn off FO faster but also, the wickless seem stronger to me too.
  18. Sorry, just trying to delete this thread
  19. Which has a better HT the GG or the Feather palm? I do realize one is for containers and the other is for pillars and votives. I have tried the GG and was impressed with the throw. Just wondering if the feather palm throws equally well.
  20. Ive had to wick up cranberry marmalade in c-3. I havent tried the other one.
  21. They are really breathtaking. I love them! I would definitely buy one...or two or ...three hehe
  22. I'd really like to get some hang tags similar to these: http://www.1803candles.com/catalog.php?category=2 My husband said he thinks they are manilla shipping tags...i dont think so, they look like kraft brown paper color to me. I've been looking online but havent had any luck so far. I went to office max thinking if they had paper stock like that then maybe I could just print them out myself but they dont carry anything like that. Anyone have any ideas?
  23. Describe what is smells like and maybe we can give you suggestions.
