  1. Another nod to Blue Hawaiian.
  2. Caribbean http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/candlemaking-soap-supplies/item/rf-201/-Caribbean-Fragrance-Oil-.html If you like sweet & tropical, you'll love that. Crap, now you're enabling me. I know I'm long overdue for an NG order.
  3. Here I'm thinking red grapes...what about a white grape...White Chardonnay? That one from Candlescience is always great.
  4. My only experience is a Grape Soda from WSP. Pretty dead on. If only I had a peanut butter fo....you know where I'm going with that. Just not my thing. It's a great mixer, though, to sweeten tart citrus scents.
  5. Baffles me as well. I used to love it - makes me want to puke now. It sells so well for so many. Maybe it's our scent receptors being refined as we age? (Yeah, I'll go with that one).
  6. Sure, I understand. Sounds like you did well, though, regardless. Interesting how many shop keepers don't know what melts even are (high end shopkeepers). One flower shop owner had invited me to present my product a few years back & said even though she really loved my melts fragrances & how they filled her home & shop (I'd left samples first & then returned a week later) she recommended I really make them into bakery shape wicked candles & then we'd talk. There was no reasoning with her that the melt throw would not be the same with a little wicked candle. I thanked her kindly...but, said I don't think so. Wasn't going to kill myself over that. You sure learn a lot & hone your people skills, if nothing else. So, kudos to you girl!
  7. They're not? What the? Sounds like you did excellent. The both of you learned something valuable. Hope you got a good rest after!
  8. I started by making a few cold calls similar to what others mentioned. An upscale gift shop owner recommened a bigger profit made from invite only exclusive events. She got me referred into them as a result...was a huge thing for me at the time. I still get invites and don't even do them any longer. Point is, unexpected positive things for your biz can result too from cold calls with a few places you'd like to see your product.
  9. Ubure, I think you were brave to be so honest & forthright. I don't think many would have the guts & courage to speak as you have. I don't know that the police could do anything, unless she has threatened to harm you or your family & you can prove it. I would think a civil suit may be more what will stop her, but in all practicality, would it be worth it for you health-wise, money-wise & time? I think you're a kind, brave soul & I wouldn't give this person any more power over you than she craves. She isn't worth it, but you are. JMO.
  10. You're preaching to the choir here
  11. Thank you kindly for pointing that out...you are right.
  12. You dove in! Would love to hear what you got & how it worked for ya after it's cured. I feel like throwing in a sample of Grassy Patch, Flowers & Herbs, maybe Cherokee & Cranberry Woods, besides, obviously, Chai Tea.
  13. I just tried a cup of Stash Chai this afternoon & that's exactly the scent I'm looking for. TDF. Just have to find it, now. About 15 years ago (if I remember right) there was a soy candlemaker in the Pacific Northwest (I thought it was Oregon...but maybe not) that had a killer Chai tea fragrance. Her name evades me. Smelled just like that Stash version. I don't think she's in business any more. I know the scent is out there somewhere. I'm waiting to jump in with both feet & try the Oregon Trails version.
  14. This board is a fragrance lover's dream. Thank you guys.
  15. Welcome to the board, Nautilique. The host of this board, Peak Candle, has excellent beginner how-to's. A good place to start from square one. Have fun, that's the important part. http://www.candletech.com/fragrant-living/make-wax-melt-tart-cubes/
  16. Most welcome. Yep, I think you may like it then. No spice, lots of sweet & tart. I think I have the full gamut of cranberry blends in my cupboard, but they are keepers! (The fo addicts mantra) Have a good one.
  17. If you're a sucker for sweet...throw a sample of Winter Cranberry in there. You may like that one too. Best wishes!
  18. Stunning boy you have there & an interesting history to boot. Am a little jealous. Anyway...I digress!
  19. Thank you Moonshine for reviving this...was wondering the exact same thing! Btw, what type of horse is that in your pic? Beautiful.
  20. Amen to that. Once you start down that road...you make yourself a charity. Take it from a little gal who learned 1st hand the hard way. These guys know what they're talking about. Hugs, Ubure!
