  1. FFS EVERYONE has to pay for shipping unless you live in Sydney or Perth. Even in Sydney sometimes its cheaper to ship than pay all the tolls. There is no such thing as "perfect"
  2. I dont know much about soap but I wanted to say your website is beautiful. I would definatly stay there and browse for a bit. The only thing i didnt see was a pic of your candles and I wanted to see them lol.
  3. Where did you buy it? It may give a hint as to what type of wax it is. Like if you got it at Dusk then its probably paraffin. Also I have found that if it doesnt have palm or soy wax written on it (selling point) or it has nothing about the wax type written on the warning then it is probably paraffin. Thats just my experience.
  4. I understand and yes they are the only ones with paraffin at a reasonable price. Palm is very pretty and once you work it out it is a wonderful wax to use. I love using palm. I was only trying to help you save money if you decided to go the soy road.
  5. ACS wax is way cheaper than that and their shipping rates are very good. I suggest you look around cos a 22kg bag at acs of 464/444/415 or tart wax 416 is all $90 ea. Even NCS is $120 for cb 135. That is definatly NOT the cheapest online wax store in Au. I gave you this info in the other thread.....
  6. eww hardley normal...you have my sympathy. You could try a 2nd hand shop if there is any there.... or nearby. With the digital thermo I find that one from NCS does work well in either my pour pot or my sunbeam. I love it and its much faster than the candly ones.
  7. Fiery you can get the sunbeam for cheaper at the good guys. I picked mine up for about $65 but sometimes they come on special for around $50. Maybe check out there online store if your far from everything. I understand the space problem my last house had a tiny kitchen I ended up moving my candle stuff to the garage. On my pour pot the clip doesnt fit in relation to the probe for it to be in the right place. I just loop it around the handle so it sits where I want it. It has an alarm which I set at 105C. Tammy
  8. I use a digital that I got from NCS. You might get one cheaper at a kitchen shop like Robins or maybe Myer. I use a Sunbeam multi cooker to melt my wax and that thermometer clips on the side perfectly.
  9. Meh Im not offended just alittle emo atm lol :rolleyes2. My molds are 76mm. I use cdn wicks from NCS for my pillars. I buy it raw and buy 5m at a time. I like this best as there is little wastage and I dont like tabs on my pillars. The fragrance you add and how much FO changes your wicking. So some will need wicking up some down. There are alot of people here with much more than my 2 years experience. Maybe they can help you more I dont know how to get the thread link thingy to work to direct you to the thread that Top did sorry. maybe try google "how to use and wick feather palm" that is the name of the tread. Have fun playing with wax it truly is fun
  10. Wow you asked for help and then come off all knowing...what ever. I dont know WHY your bought ones dont tunnel. Maybe they are just magic. I buy my wicking from NCS by the metre for pillars. FO is Fragrance Oil. As for the threads Top did, how about you TRY to use the search feature in the VEGGIE WAX section. Sorry I tried to help. Good luck to you.
  11. Hiya and Welcome. First off you might want to check out the Vegie Wax section of this forum there is so much info there you can spend hours just reading. Top of Murryhill did some very informative guides on wicking Feather wax. Search and Search. I am by no means an old hand at candles but I will share a few things I have learnt. Where are you buying your supplies if Paraffin is cheaper than Palm? Check out www.aussiecandlesupplies.com.au and www.naturalcandlesupply.com.au. Get some scales you will never get consistant good results if you dont use scales. I use 6% FO in palm unless im making melts/tarts. So for every 1kg of wax use 60g of FO. Technically its 940g to 60g but whatever. You can get scales at either Aussie or NCS for about $25. Palm wax does tunnel that is just what it does. It will start to melt the top as it burns down. I use a cdn 14 or 16 in that size mold depending on the FO. The 18 will blowout I am almost certain. Blow out is when it melts a hole in the side of the candle, the wax leaks out of it and you end up with a pool of wax on whatever you are burning it on. I suggest you place it in a bowl if you try that cdn 18. HTH Nice to see another Aussie here there are a few of us. Enjoy your new addiction...next comes the FO addiction its truly a sickness. Tammy
  12. I use chemical/puncture resistant latex free gloves. I suffer from dermatitis badly on my hands normally and if I get fo on them it takes weeks to get back to normal. I use latex free because my sister has latex allergy and I am just not willing to take chances. Sorry I cant help with getting it off your hands other than wash them alot. Tammy
  13. I have similar problems with 464. If I pour hot like they recommend between 80 and 65 c then I get beautiful tops but lurking under is a great big void. If I pour cool i get no void but butt ugly tops. No matter what I do I get frosting if I use colour. Now I use no colour and pour cool and then do a 2nd pour. Its very frustrating sometimes.
  14. Does this work in cold water? I try to use as little electricity as possible in our lives. Does anyone know if it has an effect on eczema? Since all the washing powder/liquids have gone super duper concentrate they all flare my sons eczema . Thanks Tammy
  15. Saimeezer most of the CS FOs you can get at Natural Candle Supply in Sydney Just FYI in case you didn't know Tammy
  16. Twilight in the woods is a light fragrance and I find I have to up the % a little. Lick me all over has a good hot throw in both my soy and palm waxes. You could have candle nose as in your sense of smell has been desensitized to those fragrances. Especially if you were sniffing the hot wax while stirring in the FO. I dont know about the wax because we cant get it here in Au. I would wait a few days and then melt one and see how it goes. HTH
  17. Wow thanks I didn't think they shipped International but it seems they do looking at their shipping options page. Hope you get through to them
  18. I LOVE feather palm wax for tarts. I use it all the time. I use a little more that 6% and I usually get about 18 hours of strong scent that fills my house . I do use a tea light burner as the plug in ones are not that easy to find here. I have not had one FO that does not throw. Tammy
  19. I have always gotten a response overnight from them. Are you on their facebook page? Maybe mention something there. Also remember that they have had some pretty scary weather there and did shut on Wednesday because of it according to the facebook page. They may be just a little behind from that. Kathy always gets back to me super fast. Tammy
  20. Koalas are not bears..... I am not a great fan of the CS pep/Euc it smells like vicks stuff for the vaporiser to me
  21. I have a son and daughter with eczema I use rose hip oil on them. might cost a bit but clears it up very fast. It also works on my dermatitis. I rarely have to use anything else on them. You only need a few drops a couple of times a day on the affected area. Tammy
  22. Your most welcome You guys in WA stay safe too I know TC Bianca heading towards Perth. Tammy
  23. Your Welcome We are ok but being where devestation started is very sad (10 mins north of Toowoomba). There is a real sadness kinda hanging in the air now. Everyone feels it. I swear its coming up the range...Thanks for asking Susan.
