I'm 28 years old, work full time, attend college and am married. No kiddos yet. I absolutely love candles, tarts and melts and thought that learning how to make them would be a good idea since I'm spending a fortune right now buying them. I'm looking for advice because I'm a newbie with no experience. Thanks in advance!

  1. I had a friend request that I make her a eucalyptus candle/tarts. I've never tested or experimented with eucalyptus so am hoping for suggestions on a good FO with a good throw. Thanks!
  2. I had the same problem though I read on here that someone had to get stitches so I was super careful and used a towel to pull them apart and then washed them ever so gently. I think that rubbing a little sand paper around the edge should take some of the sharpness/danger away. That's what I've been planning on doing with mine when I get the time. Hope you get better soon!
  3. I received some of the walmart tarts and have Sugar Plum in my warmer now. I almost always either have something melting or warming, lol! The scent is permeating well throughout the house and it's been warming since early this morning (it's 8:30p now). I wouldn't purchase these for myself but I can definitely see people experimenting with these.
  4. I am currently using rectangle clamshells but know that they make round, square and wavy shapes as well. Does anyone know where I can find these? Thanks!
  5. I need to mail some tarts and votives to family members and friends to get their opinions on fragrances, colors, melt, etc. I'm trying to figure out the best way to ship votives (6) and tarts (1-3) without them getting damaged. Thanks!
  6. What's the best temp to add FO and then the best temp to pour? I've been adding FO at 170 and then pulling off heat and letting temp reduce to 150 before pouring. Is this good or is there a better way to get better results?
  7. 464? What kind of wax is that? I've been letting them cure for at least a week before I test but overall, I'm not impressed with the Ecosoya so far. I love the way they look and melt but just not the scent throw. Any other soys that I can try? I'm a newbie so being specific is really appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Using EcoSoya CB Advanced (1 lb at a time) and have tried about 8 different sample scents (1 oz) and am not at all pleased with the scents I've tried. So far, 8 different pour into it and I'm getting discouraged. Does anyone know of a scent I should try? Thanks!
  9. I keep seeing things like FO/SO, etc.... Not sure what the shortcuts mean. I remember seeing a thread that had all these listed out but can't find it now. Can anyone help? Thanks!
  10. I am looking for scent suggestions but it seems like there are hundreds and was hoping for some direction. If you could like some of your favorites as well as where you purchased them from, that would be great. Also, some suggestions on where to get good fragrances at a good prices because from what I am noticing, pricing varies greatly. Thanks!
  11. So pretty! Muscle stick? Where do I get on of those? My shoulders have been killing me!
  12. Thanks for all the advice! Thank goodness someone brought up the way I bought wasn't good for votives because I had no idea! I think I'm going to start out with melts and tarts and move on from there. I'm super excited already! Thanks everyone!
