  1. I use teapots. Basically, anything you can pour into and out of will work for a pour pot. In a pinch, even a plastic pitcher will work, though those are a bit harder to clean out than a metal or glass container. Obviously, don't use plastic if you're heating in it, but if you're using a presto to heat and then pots to mix, it works.
  2. I actually prefer acrylic to aluminum. You don't get any of the pitting that you can get with aluminum and they release just as easily, in my experience. Of course, don't use a heat gun on 'em! One of my favorite things about them is that you can see just how your layers are going to turn out without waiting and hoping they'll look like you want.
  3. I love it! What size mold is that, if you don't mind my asking.
  4. I'd love to see some examples too. We've been talking to a couple of businesses and have some definite interest, but I'm clueless as to how to go about drawing up an actual contract.
  5. Where are you getting your dyes from? When I started making candles, I assumed one liquid dye was as good as any other and bought whatever they had at the local craft store. Nothing I tried with that dye would make my candles anything other than pastel. Then I found Lonestar candles and ordered some of their liquid dyes. Made a world of difference in the colors I'm able to get. I use 1343 and just small amounts of dye gives me great colors. I'm assuming Peaks dyes, and any other non-craftstore dyes will give comparable results. Good luck!
  6. Just wanting you wish you success on your project.
  7. Those aren't fugly at all! Love them and the gift bags as well.
  8. They look great and I bet they smell wonderful. Now I want carrot cake!
  9. Gorgeous and I bet they smell wonderful.
  10. I absolutely love those! Palm wax gives the nicest textures.
  11. I like them both, but really like the idea of having the fragrance name on the label right there in plain sight, so I guess the long one would be my favorite.
  12. It's beautiful exactly how it is. They're going to love it!
  13. I saw those at wal-mart a couple of weeks ago. They were white candles with embedded dye chips and were specifically labelled as wine bottle candles.
  14. Yes, these do work, but you really must pour a bit in and let it solidify before you fill the whole tube. Nothing seems to seal it tight enough to prevent leaks. They sell them at pampered chef for 6.50 or so as shaped bread pans.
  15. Very pretty! I love chunk candles but don't seem to have very much success with them.
  16. Very pretty, and this method looks so much simpler than embedding the flowers directly into the candle. It still looks like something too intricate for me to do though. I'm always impressed when I see your candles.
  17. I've done this. It doesn't hurt that much, really and truly, but it can get a bit messy. The sugaring solution can be kept a few days in a closed container, but after a bit, mine always started to get sticky and runny even when not heated.
