  1. They all look nice. The green ones with the brown wraps look especially nice.
  2. They all look great but that purple is very nice.
  3. How ya doing? I haven't posted in a while either but I also haven't made any candles. Well a few dozen containers but thats it. Thats a great looking red and Mottle. It's good to see your still around working at it.
  4. Every one of those is terrific. Great colors and designs.
  5. Wow those are very very nice. A bit masculine if you ask me. Great Work
  6. Thanks all. yep Pink is a Victorias Secret Dupe. I can't describe it very well except to say it is a soft almost floral feminin scent. Here's the description. http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/scent_desc_mq.html#PinkType That picture doesn't do it justice. I used my laptop in a Truck top and don't have an editor.
  7. Hi, were in Lake City, Fl. But I want to move. To many mosquitos survive winter. I like C-3 and it's easy to use. Probably like some of PEAKS wax in the way it reacts and pours. You just mix the FO and color in around 175 and cool to 110 or a little less. Don't follow the directions on the page I linked. Thats way to hot to pour. Sets up pretty nice but may need a small repour occasionally because it can get a small crack around the wick. I get it here.http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/wax.html#C-3 By the way maybe you all could get her to sign up some day
  8. It's Cargil C-3. I love the wax.
  9. These are the first 2 my wife ever made. I can't remember the FO but their womens things also. I like them alot. (not because of the womens scent )
  10. This one is a shade pinker than the photo and the FO is "Pink". One of those womens things. It's 3 pounds of 1343. Hope the pic is alright.
  11. I'm still kind of new at this and haven't tested every possible candle I can. I sell mine all the time. But I only sell the ones that I have tested. Maybe 20 or so different ones. Right now I'm burning and testing Valentines candles for this weekend. I have about 5 I can sell out of a possible 500 I could make. I hope to end up with about 10 different ones. If she has 3 or 4 she knows work well then go ahead and sell them. But I wouldn't sell them for very much and I wouldn't sell them at all if I wasn't 100 percent positive they were good. As a matter of fact most of us have given alot of candles to friends and people we trust who will test them for us. I still have 3 friends who I will let test mine, people I know will give me an honest opinion of the burn and fragrance. I do think some people don't undertand the cost of making candles. It's alot of money and even more so when your first starting out. You have to buy all the products your going to use including wax, FO, jars, Molds, wicks etc.. Then you literally burn up your product over and over again until it's just right. Then you start all over again burning up more products until their just right. I can't talk about it, it's to horrifying. :lipsrseal All kidding aside, it takes a long time and alot of wax, FO and patience to get to the point where you can safely sell even one candle. I may have left out one thing. You also have to have some money to burn. maybe i should have looked first and noticed how many pages long this thread is. Oh, I speel bad also. I kind of like it that way.
  12. Wow, those are all so nice. I have to give that a try some day but i doubt they would look that good.
  13. I agree with everyone, that is a great looking candle. I also appreciate the ideas on getting the wax off the chunks. I might have to try that some time soon.
  14. Thats a nice candle. It has a unique look to it, great job.
  15. You always make great candles and this one is another fine example. It looks great.
  16. That is a very nice color and very smooth. I would put a little more in the balmoral jar though. It doesn't look quite full. Good job.
  17. I have to keep telling myself valentines day is soon. Then I have to remember to go find something like that. Doubt I'll find anytjhing as nice though.
  18. Not so sure I'm into orange but those look very nice.
  19. Your dinking around turns out some really nice candles. Great job.
  20. Well no it isn't just Soy. It is Soy wax. The thread I mentioned is at the top of the page now. Or click below and read henryk's post. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1217
  21. Well if you put fragrance in it you just blended it and if you put color in it you just blended it some more. I haven't had anyone ask if it's pure soy or not and it may be unethical but i just say they are made from Soy. if you ever go to QVC and look up soy candles you'll notice they just say Soy. I probably have 50 of their Soy candles here and I can tell you they are a blend. Not just a little one either. people are some what strange. I have put a few of my candles on Ebay and call them soy and at the same time I have put the shopping channels candles on and usually use their add with a couple changes. People will buy theirs much faster and will pay more for them also. I believe appearance and recognition play a bigger role than ingrediants or even quality. Some of the name brand candles i've sold are of such poor quality it's almost rediculous but many of the same people buy them over and over. So i don't see anything wrong with simply saying they are made from soy and leaving out the specifics. There was a thread here some where that discussed actual Soy and that it really is not pure anyway in it's wax form. Might could find it with the search feature.
  22. I have used C-3 quite a bit and only use ECO wicks. I like that they are self trimming and burn hot enough to do a good job without alot of mushrooming. i did find that using the recomended sizes did not work. Ones rated for 3.5 in. jars would burn the house down. So for a 3.5 inch jar I use one rated for a 2.5-2.75 inch jar and it burns just right. I always go a couple sizes down.
  23. These are Warm Vanilla sugar. They turned out a good color I think.
