  1. This one's Vanilla, Hazelnut Coffee. It's close to what I want but not quite there yet. Probably have to pour a little bit faster next time. No matter because it made the house smell great. Hope you like it. For fun I'll throw in another tester. Looks a little odd because a small candle is burning behind it. You can kind of see it, the purple one behind and to the right in the top pic. Thanks for looking.
  2. Here's a 70 pound pot for alot less. Don't know the quality though it looks OK. http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/equipment.html
  3. I've got a bunch of Christmas Fo's to make but I'm testing wicks and waiting on some to arrive. So they'll wait a few more days. I am making a couple semi layered "Vanilla Hazelnut Coffee" pilars today. After their done I'm going to go fly a plane and hopefully not crash it. Their RC planes and I demolished one a couple weeks ago. It wqas fun though. From this To this. :cry2:
  4. Tis the season. I can think of a few things BFH stands for, does it include a Hammer. A really big one? Bruce, I did a search for some of your candle pictures but haven't found any new ones. Have you posted some lately? Their always inspiring.
  5. Just tilt the wax up into the corners, let it dry and tilt it again. Once it's built up a bit it will stay that way when you pour in the next color of wax. Thanks for the compliments. Hi Scented, looks like your a mod now. Do you carry a wand?
  6. It's been a while because I haven't made any candles in a while. Work is one of those time consuming things. It's Christmas time and some friends want candles so I'll make a few. Hopefully a little better than these. The tall one is a Rustic/Mottled mix. I like them best that way. The small one is Mottled. These 2 are 1343 and Sea breeze FO. The jar is a tester I fooled around with a little. It's C-3, Blackberry Sage and i didn't really take much care in pouring it. I'm trying some new wicks so I have alot of testers around the house now. Smells kind of good in here. Except my nose and I aren't getting along very well. I can't smell half of them.
  7. From what I can see you did a good job, lots of nice colors.
  8. Perfect for Christmas, bet they smell great.
  9. Well their candles have a "triple load" of "body safe" fragrance and are pure and natural. You could probably eat it also. Maybe we can get them to do a demonstration.:rolleyes2
  10. I use 1oz pp unless it is a real light FO then I'l go as high as 1.5oz. PP. I've found if I go any higher than 1oz PP with regular or strong FO's it will bleed through the top after a couple days. But 1oz added at about 180 and gently stirred for a couple minutes works well. I also add the color at the same temp right after the FO. HTH. Unlike some I prefere to let it cool to 120-125 before I pour it. I've had good luck with no frosting even in darker colors. But it does get a small sink hole or crack most of the time so a small repour of the top fixes it quickly. Since I hate frosting it's my prefered method and it works well. I know most suggest a week cure time for best throw but I get a pretty good one after a couple days. I lit one that was a little over a year old the other day and it threw extremely well. (Maybe a year is best )
  11. It's a vegetable blend but no parafin is used in it.
  12. Cargill C-3 is a great soy wax. You can get it from Lonestar near Dallas. I use it all the time and pour it cold. Some like to pour it hot for a better top but it's good for me poured cool. I use colors and it doesn't frost as much that way. http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/
  13. I'm curious, why do you pour it hot. I've always heated my jars and poured it around 120. Very little if any frosting and good adhesion. For a perfect top I repour a small amount. Does it come out better if it's poured hot? I tried hot last night and ended up with frosting all through a couple jars? Is there a way to do it and get good results? I've been using C-3 for a couple years and like it best of all.
  14. I like them all. Those are great for your first one's. They'd be great if they were your hundreth, nice job.
  15. Scented's right. The blue and purple would look great together. Nice job it looks great.
  16. Great job on the colors and labels.
  17. Looks like frosting on coffee beans. Much better version and looks great.
  18. That wax always makes nice candles but the color makes it even better. Like Eugenia said, may need to wick up a bit but otherwise its real nice.
  19. You did a great job. They all look very nice.
