  1. What a great job for someone that knows soooooo much and has helped everyone just as much! Congrats Bunny!
  2. I sell mine in 2 oz tins from sks and they go like hot cakes. Price is 5 each or 5 for $20. I carry em around to work and so on and most everyone will get the $20 special. I didnt even peddle any yesterday and I made 100.00 at work. I just laid them on my desk and when people came in the room they were like what are these. You tell em and they start smellin and boom.....money in your hands. This is by far my best seller this season. Pam
  3. ok I have no clue why the pictures wont show up here through that link so here are all the pictures in the files as they should be shown. Pam
  4. Mine is......you pour very very slowly. Which is really hard to do when you got a whole gallon. Definately dont pour it straight from the bottle into other oils. When I do I always add too much then the recipe is jacked up. Pam
  5. Ok I am going to try to answer all the questions in this post if I can remeber them all. First off I researched every post and place I could find. Cream soaping is really not talked about much to tell ya the truth. I found the snowdrift recipes and two recipes on the Soap dish and other than Catherine Failors book. Those are the only places I have found recipes per se for cream soap making, its pretty much design as you like. You do need a calculator for the process. Please dont ask me how to calculate KOH and NaOH for cream soaping...cuz I really dont know where to begin. I have soul gazer sundries cream soaping calculator for that process. Here is the link to that one www.soulgazersundries.com Also make sure you get some Phenolphthalein to test your soap to make sure its neutral. Its not like cp where its neutral after two or three weeks. I got Pheno stuff at www.Lotioncrafter.com and its the only place I found that sold the stuff in small enough quantities that I wanted. You only need a drop of Pheno to test and thats it.....so an 1 oz lasts forever! (or it has me) mhardy asked for recipes....and actually this batch is Failors Castor Cream Soap recipe. I did cook it in a crock pot on high for about 2 1/2 hours. Then When I got to the 4th picture ya need to turn it on low so it doesnt scorch and burn. Cook it for a little while longer....it all depends on how fast your getting to the stages, how high your crock pot/or oven gets etc. I dont want to say cook for another 1/2 hour when you really need to cook another 1 hour. Lets say this if you soap doesnt get to the vasaline stage and get translucent then you need to cook. If you dont cook more it wont kill your batch it will just make it an absolute bear to stir and mix (ask me how I know). Crafty1 asked if you use KOH and NaOH and the answer is both. You will need much more KOH than NaOH though. For example my last batch was 2.2 oz KOH and .39 oz NaOH. Michi asked how you scent it.....I like the natural scent actually. So far most of my cream soap that I have tested with others is natural. But I plan on scenting with essential oils and the like. (If I can ever find a EO combination that I like and wanna wash my face with.) I havent put any FO's in it but there is nothing that says you can't just make sure they are body safe. You can make all sorts of things with this. Think of it like a luxury base. You can add clays and make a shaving cream, scrub stuff for of course scrubs body and face, or just a facial cleanser. This batch I was able to get 16 2 oz jars. With just the ingredients not packaging or anything my cost per product is .29 each. But it all depends on how luxury you go on your oils and butters and of course how much that cost you. Umm I cant really think of anything else. Other than you need to read Failors book it really explains it all.....brambleberry has it I know. You can also join the creamsoaps group on yahoo to learn more --- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CreamSoap/ Have I confused anyone? Pam
  6. At one time or another I have promised to show others the stages of Cream soap making. Here are my stages as they cook. If your wondering what cream soap is think of Noxzema but softer and creamier. Here is the stage after you add your lye/water to your oils and stir/stickblend. Second stage: This is where you can see the soap starting to soaponify. Third stage: This is the hard rocks of soap where all the oils have soaponified. Fourth stage: This is fully cooked and starting to go from rock stage to clear/translucent gel stage. Its much easier to stir here. Ok this isnt a stage its just where I figured out after transferring the soap to a bigger container that I cant fit my hand held mixer down there far enough to mix the soap! I felt real stupid after this brain fart! But it still shows how white and creamy the cream soap becomes the more its mixed. Final stage: White creamy fluffy cream soap. So what do yall think? Pam
  7. ok here are all my picts of my last batch of black raspberry vanilla. Hopefully they will resize well and post. By the way I really like Purple! Pam
  8. I sell black raspberry vanilla and CP it as well. Got my FO from candlesandsupplies.com I even have pics if you need them. Its one of my best sellers and a favorite! Pam
  9. Nice save....So whatcha gonna call it? Gremlin cookies? Looks good though. I need to rebatch and shave some white tea soap I made about 2 months ago. Its sitting on the bottom shelf right now! Pam
  10. I've got the same molds. I vary between 32 and 40 oz. 40z fills all the way to the top and depending on how you cut it makes a very thick bar of soap. Also make sure that when you pour if you are at a very thick trace (basically globs) to smooth it out like you would if you were baking a cake. No fun in have varying bar sizes. Pam
  11. Teercreations: Willing to swap Candles/Pillars, B&B items, CP soap (Solid recipe or Newbie with tester) I do want to get to know the swapper first!
  12. awww dont be too hard on your self we all make monster batches! Just cut them up small and give them out as christmas samples.....or fillers for baskets. Ya know odds and ends to make a basket look fuller! Bet it smells great! Pam
  13. I got a used cutter and 4 quadrant mold together for about 120 dollars not counting shipping. I absolutely love it.....same shape and size bars. I still bevel when I want to.....but thats because its my choice when I have time or want to make it look special. Keep checking ebay you might find one and get lucky. Pam
  14. love select shades I have used all of some of my favorite colors to make out of my basic kit and need to order a 4 or 8 oz bottle. LOVE my select shades. The color chart if mixed correctly is always dead on! Pam
  15. ok how did you do that second one? did you make a log then let it harden and pour more soap over it or what? Its definately neat looking....heck looking at it again makes it look like confetti soap. Anyway welcome! Your soaps look awesome! Pam
  16. I make 16 oz Apothecaries all the time. The only way I have been able to get a full melt pool was with two 44z. I have tried one 60z and one 62z nothing worked for me. I use half j50/ half j223 and have tried every wick imaginable. The only thing I can think of is that Walmart brand candle is some funky type of wax that I havent used.
  17. I went to Walmart and The Dollar store and got plastic tupperware boxes. Usually I let the soaps breathe for a week or two then I will put them in the Tupperware boxes but sometimes with or without the lid. They stack on shelves and usually keep their scent very well. I havent been able to find cardboard boxes that can take the abuse I put them through. Pam
  18. One of my favorites is one of my best sellers. Thats Moonlight Path but really they all kinda just sell. I would have to check the records but offhand at work any of the fruit scents sell well and are for everyone. Granted guys dont want to smell like peaches and cream but my hubby loves the watermelon soap I make for him. Oh and Any designer dupes that work in CP sell quickly. Cool Water, Tommy, Lovespell, Curve and Dream Angel etc. I really dont make food scents in soap but thats just me. Pam
  19. Well I have left over trimmings with beveling and all...but still the soap looks great. Congrats on your first swirl too! Great job! Pam
  20. Also on the old board if you have any peaks Fo's lying around we had a thread that we posted our results with peaks FO's in CP. Keep trying --- the castile when its ready to take out of the mold will still be kinda soft so dont drop it or anything.....let it sit out a day or two then cut it. Then wait 6 to 8 weeks and it will be hard as a brick. Keep your chin up you will get it right --- everyone makes mistakes besides thats where you learn! Pam

  22. I use cardstock and Microsoft publisher -- Make the document like a bi fold tent card and it works great. I get 6 on a page.
  23. Well I have never seen a bryers ice cream container used but it makes a great container for your first soap! Remember you can make soap balls with the soap that is left over from your trimmings when you cut! Take loads of pictures! Pam
