  1. That looks great! Making frosting is on my list of things that I want to try. :smiley2:
  2. Cool man soap! :smiley2:
  3. I love using the glycerin-dispersed colors from TKB Trading http://www.tkbtrading.com/category.php?category_id=28
  4. My lotion only has 1% lanolin but it has a strong odor, maybe my fragrance is too light to mask the smell...I will have to try it with a heavier fragrance. I just bought some lanolin oil to try, it does not have much of an odor so I am going to try that this weekend and compare. :smiley2:
  5. I came across Swift's blogs this week actually looking for a nice facial moisturizer recipe. Anyways, this article of hers might help you plus check out her other articles, they are all great! http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/2009/04/lotions-facial-moisturizers.html
  6. I have a lotion recipe that I put lanolin in, I love the lotion but even with fragrance in it I can still smell a hint of lanolin. Does anyone else have this problem with lanolin? Is there a way to mask the smell of it? Or can anyone suggest lanolin from somewhere that has little to no odor?
  7. Finally a success! I used coors light this time. I can't wait to try it.
  8. That's a Bummer! I made a new batch today, hopefully it will be trouble free this time.
  9. Those are so nice, you are a talented soaper! :smiley2:
  10. The surf's up one is my favorite! You should do a class, I would love to learn how to make a soap like that!
  11. I would drop the Stearic. Or if you want to have stearic and ewax, keep them close to a combined % of 5%....ex: stearic 3% and ewax 2%. Hope this helps :smiley2:

    Molds

I recently bought the smaller version of this mold and it is great. It is a little more pricey but a great silicone mold - Silicone Soap Mold - Solid Loaf Tray (M) http://cgi.ebay.com/Silicone-Soap-Mold-Solid-Loaf-Tray-M_W0QQitemZ230346894779QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item35a1beadbb&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
  13. I will have to remember that, I have never done a rebatch - something new to try. Thanks
  14. I have not used this but plan on getting some to try out. I believe you can get it at Michael's http://www.amazingmoldputty.com/
  15. Just as a follow up on my findings. I finally got brave and licked one of the wet spots on the soap and sure enough I got zapped, when I licked the other part of the soap it was fine. Bummer, I had to throw it all away. I will have to try it again this weekend.
  16. I am going to have to try the salt glow recipe this weekend! Thanks
  17. I love it! You are a swirl master!
  18. I agree - The smell of the beer + lye was awful! I will just have to try it again and see what happens, definitely will test with a cheaper beer next time. Thanks for all the suggestions :smiley2:
  19. I used Fat Tire (one of my favorites). I used only beer, no water. It's weird because not every soap has oozing stuff only about 1/2 of it. Right before I made the soap I dropped my scale on the tile in the kitchen... I am going to have to check and see if it is still calibrated correctly.
  20. I did the zap test and no zap, of course I didn't try it on the wet part though. Maybe it is the weather, AZ has been somewhat humid (for the desert) because of all the rain we have been getting but I do have the AC running.
