  1. Thanks everyone for your help. I was just thinking that I mix Peach with Warm Vanilla Sugar and it's wonderful. Did you know that Lovespell has some peach in it? Yup that's right . . . so I decided that I'll try mixing it with Warm Vanilla Sugar and see how that works. (I'm also going to pour a sample mixed with chocolate . . . sounds yummy!)
  2. Does anyone use NG's Hot Baked Apple Pie? Any opinions on this one? I'm looking for a great hot and cold throw. I will be using a 50/50 blend. TIA. :highfive:
  3. Does anyone mix Lovespell? I was thinking about mixing it with vanilla. Any suggestions or ideas? :undecided
  4. If you're interested in checking out some fo's from Aroma Haven, check out their ebay sale, most starting bids are $2.99 for 4 ounces. http://stores.ebay.com/Aroma-Haven :highfive:
  5. In my opinion it smells just like Longwyck's "Sweet Seduction". Funny, Aroma Haven bought out Longwyck's too, so they carry both Sweet Seduction and Sweet Tooth (SnC). Here's the scent description from their site . . . "Oh we HAD to get this, the second we sampled it! You probably won't be able to get any work done because you have your nose glued to the bottle, it's that good! The base of this blend is a buttery cutout cookie, with a sweet frosting. But there is so much more! Candied cherries and fruits, along with frosting sprinkles and powdered sugar, make for a nosegasm! Even if you do not like "bakery" scents, you just need to smell it... name it something else! I didn't know this was a "cookie" scent until after reading the description, all mom and I knew was that it was so darned good we were going to buy it!" IMHO, Sweet Seduction is a better name. It smells like it's more than a bakery scent. It's a cross between a sweet buttercream frosting and something else.
  6. Just an interesting observation from testing Aroma Haven's fo's . . . Amish Quilt(SnC) and Celtic Moon Spice smell exactly alike to me! Maybe it's just my nose, but I thought that was interesting. :rolleyes2
  7. I just got my order last week. I love them all. Grasshopper Pie (SnC) Birthday Cake (SnC) Pineapple (SnC) Orange Cream Danish (SnC) Blue Skies (SnC) Fudge Brownie (SnC) Strawberry Musk (Snc) Lemon Slices (Snc) Cherry Mist ClothesPins Cotton Blossom Monkey Farts Ginger Souffle Fresh Squeezed Oranges Vanilla Wafers I love this supplier, great customer service!
  8. I agree, a kit is the best way to start. You should check out Mill Creek. They have a great kit for soy candles. I started with a paraffin votive kit from Cajun candles. Then I decided to try 100% soy, and now I use a soy/paraffin (50/50) blend. If you decide you want to continue making candles, you can get a lot of information from this board which will be extremely helpful. Just take it one step at a time, in my opinion, candle making is a journey . . . enjoy it!
  9. Do the f**ts smell like chocolate since they come from a chocolate lab?
  10. Aroma Haven has Monkey Farts (SNC); it's great!
  11. Sage & Citrus from The Candle Source is awesome; however, I got a fuel smell with their Lemongrass.
  12. Lemon Verbena from Aroma Haven. I also love Lemon Slices (SNC) from Aroma Haven.
  13. www.flickersfragrances.com . . . www.serendipityscents.com
  14. Here's a recipe I found. I haven't tried it yet; but still thought I would pass it along. Crumblies: Use 140 melt point wax with 1 tablespoon of steric and 1/4 teaspoon of vybar 103 per pound of wax. Add 3 tablespoons of fragrance oil per pound (amount can be adjusted if desired). Use a whisk, whip, let cool. Come back and keep stirring and letting cool until it gets hard and crumblie. Sounds interesting!
  15. I stand with the majority . . . in my opinion (and yes, I am entitled to it), I think their customer service is very poor. Whatever their problem is . . . short-staffed, untrained staff, company policy, etc. . . . should not be passed on to their customers; that is bad business. The bottom line is . . . customers who do not feel valued, become ex-customers. (For those who have not experienced this from C&S, that's wonderful, keep buying from them.) I don't order from C&S anymore, I have found other suppliers who appreciate my business and treat me respectfully. I think it's their loss because they are not getting my money anymore.
  16. Fresh Cut Roses from The Candle Source.
  17. www.heartfeltcandlesupply.com; www.thecandlesource.com; www.flickersfragrances.com. There's also a link on this message board. It's titled Suppliers Abbreviations and Links, it's the first thread in Fragrance Discussion. Hope this helps. :highfive:
  18. The Candle Source, Heartfelt, and Flicker all mail USPS. :rolleyes2
  19. Ashlie K, I currently use Fillmore and the shipping is killing me, I live about 2 hours from them. I've been looking for another supplier for jars, but can't seem to get a better deal. If you wouldn't mind sharing that supplier's name, I'd be very appreciative. Hoping you can pm me with that information (oh please, oh please, oh please!!!!!!!!!!!). Thanks so much. :highfive:
  20. I agree with the above . . . but I will share a few that work for me . . . Bitter Creek North, Snowtop, Heartfelt, Alabaster, The Candle Source, Just Scent, Kentucky, Millcreek . . . there are many more, but these are just off the top of my head. (I'm actually trying to narrow down my suppliers.) I would consider good summer scents to be fruit, berries, florals, fresh linen types, rain types. I also use a lot of BBW's scents. The best approach would be to do a search. There is a ton of that kind of information on this message board. Everyone has a different opinion and you will be able to read the pro's and con's in regard to suppliers and fo's. For example, I love Strawberry Jam from BCN - but there are others that may not. They may love SJ from a different supplier. I'll promise you this . . . you will learn a lot from reading this board, I did. Hope this helps.
  21. Any opinions on Cotton Blossom and Clean Cotton from Candle Science? I'm looking for a good supplier that carries both of these fo's. TIA. :highfive:
  22. If you do a search, you'll find a ton of stuff. The ones I've tested so far and love are: Fresh Cut Roses J&J Bedtime Bath Butt Naked Grandma's Kitchen Spicey Apples & Peaches Sage & Citrus Sunwashed Linen Downy Lemon Merg. Pie Starfruit & Mango Sweet Pea Strawberry Strawberry & Banana I still have more to test.
  23. I'm looking for a true Peach with an awesome scent throw . . . I've read the thread about Peak's "Georgia Peach"; but I'm also curious about other suppliers. Any suggestions? TIA.
  24. Can I get any feedback about Peach, Magnolia & Raspberry fo from Alabaster? Has anyone used this oil . . . comments and/or opinions? Also, any must haves would also be appreciated . . . thanks so much. :highfive:
