  1. Wow so they used to be Matte they are not now sort of a satiny finish just depends on the light. But yes I think the Expresso Embossed and White Emobssed look cheap to me I really hate them and loved the photo of them I only informed the one customer who ordered the expresso embossed because it truly looks nothing like the photo. I'm hoping those who ordered the square ones will be good with it being shiny I mean they are still nice I used the green one that has grown on me last night and Wow it heat up fast and scent was all over the room. They work really well. The Expresso embossed doesn't have a gold ring though that was just light in the photo. They do have a grape design on the front that is not pictured well in the photo. So hard to go by photos I guess But I do feel duped because I expected a matte finish and loved them because they had that finish it appeared. I will call them now and see what is going on with them not being matt then. As I really hoped they would be Matte for a really modern look. Yes the Jack-O Latern is really awesome and large!
  2. Well now that I have looked at the green one longer i'm not hating it so much its growing on me, its just not the dark sage green color it looked to be. But its nice anyway. I hope your right and the customers love them, I'm most dissapointed mainly in the expresso and white embossed they look nothing like the photos. I offered the customers a refund on these if they were unhappy as I'm so afraid since they look so different in person. But overall I love the ceramic warmers and the plug ins are beautiful as well as the Jack O Latern (to die for) so all is not so bad. Hopefully I'm completely over reacting
  3. I ordered the illumination warmers in the black, green and white on the site they looked small and matte colored. But in person they look huge and are super shiny colors. I already sold some with the company photos that look matte and small. Also the green is not a sage green it is actually a lime green in person. Thankfully no one ordered the green i'm returning those for sure. Do you think that customers will be upset that they are shiny and not matte I'm so upset atm.. However I will say the JackOLatern Warmer is huge and looks super awesome with the light on very happy with it. I'm also happy with the plug ins in rustic, and white, the white is shinier than on the site but it looks good anyway. The Expresso Embossed well that looks black on the site but its actually dark brown and very fat and large these things hold alot of wax. Maybe customers will like that I'm not sure. But I personally am so dissapointed the photo's made everything look slimmer than they are and Matte when they are shiny I feel like I might should offer people their money back as the website photos are so deceiving, I feel like I deceived someone thats a terrible feeling. Am I just overreacting? Obviously the company is selling these on there site also with these photos that look matte when in reality they are high gloss finish. Has anyone else ordered these and been shocked at how they really look? Also to note for others considering ordering the tart skillets are adorable, I love them. They messed up and gave me mulberry plug ins instead of the green but I think that may be a good thing as that pretty sage green to me is actually a puke lime green color. Hope I help someone else by posting this
  4. Smaller always sells better for me, my customers always want to try more than one scent, so 8 oz just doesn't sell well for me. I'd say lotion sells better than shower gel always for me anyway. Shower gel is a slow mover and low on profit for me.
  5. Thanks for all the advise. Doesn't sound like its my main issue going by the cost per hour calculations given My bill is huge, it must be the heat I am in the deep south. I think this summer is really hot one. I just wondered because I leave my warmer on alot. But what I was curious about is? Would it be worthwhile to order one of the large professional wax warmers, I noticed one on I think Candle & Supplies site that said it was good on electricity. I think it was a convection type warmer. I love my Presto Pots but am curious what the big boys are like?? Has anyone used the professional Wax Warmers? And what are your thoughts, which one is a good one to look into etc.. Thanks for all the great advice and help:smiley2:
  6. Thanks for all the advice But I have too many scents to tell them which do and don't and too many suppliers to contact head is spinning :rolleyes2 I think I will ask her which scents she's interested in and then I can check for her on those scents.
  7. labels by the sheet carries a super waterproof label they have the regular waterproof like online labels but then they have a super waterproof. Thats probably not what its called though I don't remember but its Ultra or Super something like that. You could try that. Laminating does work but its just too much work if you ask me I use my Primera and its pretty good, but in the past I just used online labels waterproof but those do smear I'd try the labelsbythe sheet ultra waterproof if it were me Hope this helps
  8. I just got 2lbs off the classies as I love this lavender so much I too would like to know if there is anything simular for when I run out of it I hope someone picks up her oils also I wanted to try Pumpkin Brulee and never got too.. I just ordered Scentworks English Lavender when I get it I will give an update on that, the description said it was not a floral or medicinal lavender, supposed to smell like Yardley Soap which I love also.
  9. Thanks for the info on the Just Scent wax I'm ordering soon and will order a bit to test it out. No its not on the site, I think its something new she got in or something. I did ask myself the same question though too why doesn't she sell this one LOL I felt like she was just trying to help though offering this wax since I was going to have to wait a long while for the other one. It seems she is having trouble with this supplier so it could be the company you mentioned above who knows. I just hope she gets it worked out. I've never had trouble with KY in the past and truely always felt Ky to be one of those suppliers you feel good about ordering from. But I am keen to try other things now, I just need to find a tester other than myself because I always have candle nose it seems, I'm either making B&B or tarts everyday. If anyone has other recs besides Just Scents blend please let me know PM is fine..
  10. What do yo say to that? I mean some suppliers state this but many of mine do not state at all aka Backwoods site I don't see it, I'm sure many others. I'm stumped on how to answer this question
  11. The wax is kind of funny, I wil notice If I pour hot I will get alot more dimpling but sometimes I can pour hot and a few look just fine. And then If I wait and pour at a cooler temp, which I hate to do :tiptoe: Then sometimes I will still get some dimpling. Customers really never say anthing about it at all, I wouldn't worry.
  12. This happened to me too She told me this blend would probably be better than the para-soy but I couldn't get ratio's either. Just that it had more soy but was still a soy paraffin blend. She said it was what she used now. I used the blend and it wasn't that bad, I tested it and found it to have a cleaner throw but too me it didn't have as good of throw. Although family members seemed to like it saying it had a less waxy smell in the throw. My Mom Highly prefered it (she finds my tarts aggrivate her allergies normally). Everyone else said it was strong but I was not sure I guess the higher amt of Soy made it easier on her and she wants me to use it for her. She usually hates tarts period but when she smelled this burning she said Wow I like this its smooth and not so waxy smelling. I was on the fence and felt the throw was more mellow. Also to note was the cold throw was actually better with this blend, meaning I compared 2 with the same oil and the cold throw was better with this blend, I've always noticed that KY para-soy blend wax cold throw is not the best esp the open side of the tart or cupcake, but If I put a lid on it and come back then I smell cold throw. I don't think this wax likes air:smiley2: With this blend cold throw was very good. From what I gather it is a blend with more soy in it, it dimples less and is easy to use comes in 1lb wax slabs so that works easy enough. I could put 4 or 5 in my presto pot. Its actually easier than than scooping granules. But I'm truely not sure which wax is better due to candle nose I may have had while testing. I too almost had a nervous breakdown when I could not get the regular wax and had to use this one. Is she out now of the tart wax? If not I better stock up now i'm worried about this too. But if I were you I would test this one out for yourself, I'd love to hear your results. I wish I had, had the time to test them while not working, because I can't be sure when I have candle nose which is really getting better throw.
  13. Does anyone know what they compare too in energy cost. My electric bills have gone way up I'm just curious what the cost of running one is say 4 or 5 hours a day? Thanks for any advice or help I went online trying to find any info but couldn't find anything I'm just wondering if I bought one of the big boys that say they conserve energy the convection types I think, would that be less in electric bills.
  14. First time I've heard of Southern Sensations just checked out the site. Any other good oils from them, totally new to me
  15. Yea I usually clean the seam also, not sure but I will try that it seems like they have alot in the middle more than I usually get but I will see if I can make it look like that next time I'm making them. I was thinking they might have found some kind of mold that was shaped like an Ice Cream scoop. I will post back if this works or fails
  16. Thanks guys, Yea I bet it was just a few sensitive customers as most are quite happy with the wax, It may have been some vanilla scents. I think I will pick up some soy and add a little it would be nice not to have the dreaded dimples, I hate those. Thanks for the help and advice
  17. I finally caved and got the primera, but I still use my Avery Design Pro it works awesome I highly recommend it and its totally free. I wish I could figure out how to use photoshop for labels, it just seemed like I would need months of playing around and tutorials to figure it all out.
  18. Just got mine too I agree about the Apple Harvest I'm wondering how it turns out in wax, I do like it. Loving new to me Cinnamon Sticks Wow the best ever I just love it. Strawberry Shortcake I'm not sure smells kinda fake, but most strawberries do to me I just put in wax and will try it soon to see if it is better I really love the Regular strawberry and have already made good use for this one in blends love it Of course I also love the hansel Gretal, Cinnamon Strudel, Cinnabuns and I think this Creme Brulee out of bottle smells yummy, I blend it with KY Creme Brulee it turns out awesome. I didn't order the pumpkin and now I'm glad I didn't, doesn't sound like a winner. Did anyone try the Gingerbread I didn't order that either.
  19. What kind of soy are you adding, I may try this, I'm guessing your still getting good throw with the addition of the soy? Yea My mom totally loved the blend i used with more soy she said it left a less waxy smell in the air. I'm curious if this is common for soy to burn cleaner ?
  20. If anyone decides to make an order I can pay upfront for some wedding cake 2. Say 2 lbs plus extra for handling and shipping PM me if your ordering
  21. Yes they have some awesome scents Buttercream is really good thick but a great one I've heard the apple pie is really really good. Sugar Cookie was a nice one also Butterscotch something is really good too Search for reviews you will see they have some really good oils. hope this helps
  22. I agree I use KY Parasoy for my clamshells also works great
  23. Anyone saw these, I'm wondering what kind of mold are they using to make these. They look like reg bath bombs except in the middle they patrude out like an ice cream scoop. They look so cute anyone have any ideas how these could be made?
  24. Most of my customers love my tarts I am using KY Parasoy blend, but I have had a few customers say they smelled kind of plasticy. I am trying to determine is this my ky tart wax blend or my Fragrance oils? I used a different blend from ky when she was out of the granule para-soy this blend had more soy I think, it had less dempling and when I burned them I found them to be more subtle but my Mom who is sensitive to tarts said she loved these as they seemed to burn cleaner than the ky parasoy blend. I guess I'm asking does paraffin give a plasticy scent to wax? Or is just this blend, dont' get me wrong I love KY Blend so do most of my customers but I'm trying to understand why a few have commented on this plasticy smell. I use oils from Peaks, DS, ICS, Backwoods, AH/RE, and lots of KY oils so I'm just stumped is it my oils or is it the tart wax blend. If I added more soy to the blend would that help with giving a less plasticy smell. I do notice some oils being lets say kind of plasticy and fake smelling to me aka almost all strawberries some lemons, could it just be certain oils. Oh by the way these are in the mini foil tart cups so its not from plastic clamshells. Thanks for any info, help or advice
  25. Hi SoapDiva No haven't soaped it, I'll see if I can find any soap reviews on it. Which Pumpkin do you get from daystar? I love the Sweet Pumpkin I blend it with everything, its not super spicy and too me its just the perfect not too spicy pumpkin. Although it is a bit spicy. Having said that I never got the chance to try SS Pumpkin Creme Brullee The Candlesource Pumpkin Vanilla smells very close to the Sweet Pumpkin scent maybe just more vanilla. But for some reason the Sweet Pumpkin is just better to me I also agree that AH/RE Pumpkin Brulee and the new Butternut Pumpkin are really nice ones
