Hello everyone,I haven't been on the board in awhile.I decided to make soap again yesterday,it been awhile since I made any.I made three batches.uncovered them this morning,two of the batches is covered with oily water.:confused:What did I do wrong or what do I need to do with it?Thanks

I am looking for a good Redneck Christmas.I have the RC from Starville,have try it in 6006and the wax that Starville sells.,there's no hot throw in either wax.Help please. Thanks,Anna

OK, what is Calumet paraffin blend wax?

That's the wax I use.I get it from Starville's.It burns and wick just like the old J50.It gets wet spots,but they don't brother me,I learned to live with them.It is a one pour wax.HTH Ann -

Thanks Karen,I got my KY para-soy in yesterday.Poured today,hope this wax works as good as everyone says.meant to say,para-soy tart/votive wax.

Hi,I made some clamshell,and the scent dosen't last more than a day.I have some of Scentsy's clamshells,and they last forever.Tell me if I'm doing something wrong.This is my formula 4-clamshells,4ozs votive wax 5.35ozs parffin 1.10 fo-10% fo load Thanks,ann

I have'nt posted in a long,but read every day almost.I was reading a thread about Candlescience fo's,so I decided to order some sample's.Very Vanilla is best I every tried.Hansel and Gretels House,I could almost drinked the bottle,and when I got it in wax it was wonderful. Red Hot Cinn-very good Baby Powder-very good Pineapple Coconut-can't get it wicked right Mango Papaya-fair I use 4630 wax,and 16oz apoth jars. Anna

No curing here.I use J50.Make them,let them set up,and burn.

Yes it was a glass container,I called myself inspecting all my jar.It could have had been dropped after it left me.Thank goodness it wasn't burning.

My GD called and told me one of my candles exploded.The strange thing is it wasn't burning.It hasn't been burned in three days.She said the house was cold,so she turned the heat up.and the vent was blowing on the jar.could this have cause this.Thanks

J50 users..can it handle 9% FO load?

I use J50 for years,and have always use 8% with no problem.HTH Sorry never used 9%. -
Thanks for the replys,I love J50,and I get it locally with no shipping.J50 used to not do this.Last night I made candles,and when the top set up,I took the wick holders off,that seemed to help with the shrinking. Anna

J50,are you having a lot of shrinkage when the jar has set up.I am having to use the heat gun on every container,then it's at least 1/2 inch below the pour line.I don't know what to do.I guess I could save some wax and do a second pour. Using the heat gun on every container is alot of work,and time.I need some suggestions. Thanks,Anna

Yes it is very overwhelming,and confusing.Sometimes I wish I didn't have a tax #.I'm just a small operation.

I sold the candles wholesale to a business,don't they have to pay the tax on them.I have a sales and use tax resale certificate,I believe they have to fill out to prove I sold the candles wholesale.What I want to know after they fill it out,do I keep it,or do I mail it in?

This question has probley been asked before,I searched and couldn't find the answer.I just got a wholesale account and I have a resale certificate.Do I get the business that bought from me fill it out,then what do I do with it?Does this mean I want have to pay sales tax on the supplies I bought with my Tax l.D? I hope this is the right place to post.I have always ordered my labels,now I want to try and make them myself.I bought the full sheet clear matte labels,and printed my labels on them.They turned out really nice.My DH was helping me,and wipe accross one of the labels and all the ink came off.What do I need to do to keep the ink from coming off?What is the weather proof labels? I hope this make sense. Anna

The owner of a gift shop,that is in a city across the river from me wants to sell my candles.On my labels I have my email address,town and city,and my Phone number.She don't want any that on them.The reason being,we live in a small town,and people don't support local people.What has to be on a label?
