  1. WELCOME!! You will have a good time here! Everyone so far has been really nice. They have some great recipes on here too! but be careful!! you will get addicted!! LOL
  2. I have a Popsicle mold - and they sell great in the summer time! I make them different colors - I have a ice cub tray that I use for crayons - I love that - got the idea from a great person on this site!! people are so creative!
  3. WOW! I never knew I could get one at Wal Mart!! I am gonna get one the next trip there. Where did you find it? and what did it cost? approx? That way I dont run into a sales person like you did lol
  4. I read as long as they are food safe they are ok. I used grape, peppermint, etc. I found a site on another forum that suggested this. This is what I found on this site too. There's actually something I saw a few weeks ago- they're called Lorann flavor oils (I think that was the name anyway!) and they are used to make kid's medicine taste better. I saw that they sold them at the pharmacy- and I'm almost positive you could try that in your lip balm-since it's food grade. I asked the pharmacist if I could try a little, and it was super sweet. So maybe check out your local pharmacy...? As for it being good for really dry lips- I think it is. It's very soft, but it really works its magic quickly. I've put it on my chapped lips and they were much softer within the hour. If it's too soft, you can always try adding some more beeswax or lessening the oil in the recipe, or try some petroleum jelly. HTH!
  5. I have used lorain oils - the kind that you use to make hard candy. that works great for me and its local and cheap!!
  6. looks very nice! would never know it was your first try!!
  7. I got some of those bottles too - cant remember which site - but they did sell great for me. Plus I think they were cheap. He does nice soap work! I would like to try a few of them. Can you use a silicone pan - kinda like a brownie pan for a mold?
  8. I would also love to learn how to do that! they are so pretty and I bet would sell great! I asked if anyone knew what type of mold to use on these also.. but didnt get a reply yet. If you find out please share.. I will do the same for you!
  9. yes I do. Then I make the label for the top. people like that they can open them and smell them - they are a great seller for me! I was thinking of making the larger ones - but not sure if they will fit the normal burner and not sure how they could cut them in half - etc.
  10. I package one in a bag and I sell them for .75 - I know someone is going to say wow that is cheap.. but that is all I can get for them in my area. I guess it would depend on the area you are in. I used old wax, free pine cones and filler - only had to pay for the cupcake papers and I used baggies from the Dollar store - so I thought I was making a pretty good profit on them. Just my opinion. forgot about the wicks.. I just used the cheapest ones I could find.
  11. No you dont need to spray them. I also make them and have had no problems at all. I got mine at a local restraunt supply store - maybe if you have one near you -you could check there. I also take a few (about 5) of the warmers with me to sell. And I sell them and offer 2 free tarts with the warmer. But I have only taken the tarts and also sold them with no warmers - just depends on the booth size I have on what I can take and what I have to leave at home.
  12. I make m&P soaps. Do I need to buy a tray to pour into or is there something I can make or use that you can buy local? I usually use molds - for the smaller bars and candy molds of the smaller designed soap. Just looking for some suggestions. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!
  13. I do the same thing as curlycoat does. I found an old crock pot at the goodwill and I use that - I keep it on low and its takes awhile for it to melt.. but its stays warm and you dont have to worry about reheating it over and over - I like M&P - you can use as much or as little as you need.
  14. I bought some from ebay - you can buy a small amount and see what you think - I think I even bid on some that had free shipping. Just go to ebay and type in tart mold.. or floater candle mold. HTH
  15. do you have a joann fabric? they have them. Look at the left over (if anything left lol) christmas stuff at walmart, target, or kmart. I just bought some on clearance.
  16. I have a computer room - well it was that and now its over taken with candle making and B&B stuff! I have notebooks - man do I have notebooks full of notes and stuff I have printed- I have a bin for everything - well almost. I need to get organized - but who has that much time? LOL I used (and sometimes still do) crafts that I sell at a local craft shop - you name it I have made it (wooden items, sewing items, hand painted items, tole painting, etc.) and candles was a new thing for me - so far I love it. I just cant find stuff when I need it - and I keep everything - kinda a pack rat thing lol and my hubby hates that! LOL. He wants me to go to the basement and he will fix me up a room - but its dark and itcky down there lol but I might have too - running out of space. And tell me again why I keep buying things lol. I work full time and have a 4 year old - so its not to keep busy lol. Guess I like it or I would have given it up a long time ago - there are just times I have to remind myself of that lol.
  17. Yes I have the Brother SE-270D disney one - how did you guess that? Want to hear something funny - I got a set of those towels for a wedding gift and she told me where she had them done - and when I priced how much she charged - I told my hubby I could make all kinds of stuff and maybe some extra money on the side lol. So the rest is history lol. Where do you find the thread for them? I need to buy some extra thread and just never found it. I will get it out and see what I can do. My hubby will love that - plus I wont get the evil eye anymore! LOL. Is that the model you have too? Maybe if I get stuck you can help me out.
  18. OMG! that is so cute! Want to hear something funny.. I bought a embroidery machine and never took it out of the box - its been 3 years plus. I thought It would be easy then I read some of the instructions and that is all. I need to get it out! Every time my hubby steps around the box I get the eveil eye lol. I didnt buy a fancy one - but still I need to get it out - I see all kinds of things I can make with it!
  19. Is the bottom a soap? or a bath bomb? I have seen them both - I think they look great! I have never tried them - but I guess they look easier than they are to make huh? Thanks for the pics!
  20. I started slow and then.. bam want to do a million things at once! LOL. I buy alot from the classys and other sites. I try to buy small amounts of stuff at a time. I already have all the candle stuff but now getting into the bath and body stuff. I decided to sell things that I never used - and that way I use that money too. Dont go broke! LOL. Research your area and see what sells and go from there. But you know what.. have fun doing it!
  21. Here is something that I got from either here or another thread. I take a glass bowl and I place it onto a coffee cup warmer. Then I add the lip balm base and bees wax. Let it set for awhile and it will all melt. Add the scent and color and you are ready to pour. That way the base stays hot and you can use a pipett to add it to the tubes. I love this! Its the best tip I have found yet. Plus I dont break anything in the microwave. Give it a try!
  22. Can you post a pic? I would love to get one - but we dont have a walgreens around here. Maybe I could find it some place else. Thanks!
  23. Would hot wax rubbed onto one piece and held together till dried do it? I have done that with a few embeds that I wanted to top of melts.. and kinda forgot to add them till it was too late. They stayed that way.. but in a T form I dont know. What are you trying to make?
