  1. I usually make the beads mixed with the corn cob. I found that the scent last longer and its more cost effective. I use colored bags and sometimes I will use the while or cream ones and just color the beads. I have made alot of different scents - I just use stuff for whatever the season is. I have some fall ones now - pumpkin pie, harvest, etc. I have also done the carded air fresheners. They sell okay. i bought some from the classys and just never got around to ordering any more. I did notice at the holidays I would do pine in the shape of a tree or a stocking and they did sell great for the season. but I never had much luck with them. As for the jars - I never did those either. I was kinda the same way and thought someone would spill them - or people would think it was too large for the car etc. I would take the sample bottle scents that I had around the 1 oz. and use that to make the airfresheners. Not sure if I helped ya or not. But wanted to put in my 2 cents too lol
  2. They are cute!! may I ask what you used for the pic? I heard that you can use scrapbook paper but I was not sure if it would get too hot when the candle was burning or not. Thanks!! Love the idea
  3. They are very cute!! you have a cleaver mind!! May I ask how you did selling them?
  4. I also use the FO. They seem to last a long time. I bought some off the classys to start with to see if they would sell around here - they have not done bad but the sachet bags are still my best seller!
  5. You can get it cheap from the amish - not sure if you live near any lol. But I have also heard that you can buy it in the pickling section of the stores.. but not sure what the name of it is there - its called something else. You can also buy it on line.
  6. I have used pinecones, pieces of trees, and some old potpourri that didnt smell much anymore. I have also used cinnamon sticks (from the dollar tree) and stuff like that. I would not put alot of money into stuff for them - since they sell cheap. Just put what you can find cheap around you.
  7. Stupid question but what is a jelly tart? The simmering oil I just mixed mine 50/50 with the DPG. They always turned out okay. But I have not made a ton of them either. Sorry that I could not help.

    C3 Wax

thanks! I just ordered a 50 pound box of wax and I usually make the container candles. But I wanted to have some wax for tarts too. I might just add some beeswax to harden them. Thanks for all the input. I am gonna check out the KY site and see what they have to offer. Maybe I can get a smaller bag of wax just for the tarts. I was just trying to save on some money.. not an easy thing with the candle business lol

    Wax Beads

I agree! the crumbs are easy and just as nice. They sell great. I have asked the same question.. the beads are neat.. but not worth the expense!!
  17. I would love to see one finished. Do you have any pic? that sounds like a wonderful project. Thanks for the advice and the instructions!!
  18. thanks for all the great info!! Wow when I ask a question.. you guys give great answers!! I just dont know what I want to buy. I like the EZsoy but was wanting to try something new. I appreciate all the input. Its great having everyone on here - you give great suggestions and ideas. Thanks!!
  19. I was looking at the candlewic website and they have a soy wax - that is called soy 125. Has anyone purchased this? and how do you like it? I just the EZsoy now - and just looking for something in the same line as the EZSOY. I made tarts, and jar candles, and some votives. I would like any suggestions on a good soy wax. Thanks
  20. I have not done any shows yet this year. But from friends who have - the sales are down at some and up at others. Its a gamble. I enjoy getting out - but it does get expensive - by the time you get there and pay for the gas, the table etc. I am only doing a few and see how that goes. I have alot of repeat buyers and that is nice. But its hard to keep positive. People are out of work and some are close to lossing their homes. Things will turn around.. I just hope for everyone that is sooner than later. Keep posting how things are going.. at least you are not alone in this battle lol.
  21. you can buy those parafin wax melting systems at WalMart. My mom has one for her arthritis.
  22. you can use soy. I use the pillar or the votive blend to make my bakery items. I started out making the tarts first.. then I started with the wicks. The wick part is the hardest and the testing.. oh my!! maybe you could try tarts first.. they are easy and quick to do.
  23. I have used the daisy lids too. Or if you want to make something.. just cut up some lace or similar material and use that on top.
  24. I have put them into 4 oz jelly jars. You can even put the crystals in a pretty dish to sit around. I think you can put them into almost anything - just so it dont get knocked over you should be fine. Recipe for the crystals Crystals Water 1/4 tsp 1 Cup 1/2 tsp 2 cups 1 TSP 4 Cups 1 1/2 Tsp 6 Cups I have the larger amount too info you need them. HTH
  25. I have made those before. They did sell good for me too. They sold in the summer time too. I only made a few and then I kinda got into other projects and forgot about them. They were easy and I just followed the instructions she had on the video.
