  1. Very nice....I love the colors you used...
  2. Very interesting...Did you get any black soot from the wood wick? Just curious..I have tried them and didn't get a good burn.
  3. I haven't tried the palm wax yet but just a tip for round plain tarts, I purchased a bunch of the teflon coated mini muffin trays, 12 muffins to a tray at Big Lots for $2.00 per tray. They work great, simple and plain for primitive tarts..hope that helps.
  4. I do the same as Deb426, I start with the smallest jar, wick and color once I get it right, I can usually judge which wick for the next size and work from there. :smiley2:
  5. Ky para soy tart & votive wax makes the creamiest tarts and votives. I have tried other tart waxes and found some leave a powdery residue, so I stick with KY's. Purchase 200 lbs and you can get a better deal.:rolleyes2
  6. Yes please keep us posted on how these wood wicks work for you, I purchased some and tried 2 of them but they didn't burn well, I did read some where someone said they burn better if you dip them in wax, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.
  7. I also use those type for candles, I have had no problems with them.
  8. Maybe stick them in the freezer for a couple minutes, the wax will probably come off pretty easy then.
  9. I like to use reddi-glo dye chips or dye flakes, I have found that if you dye too dark it can clog your wicks. I keep a log of my candles I make, wick type & size, color of dye, fragrance oil, how well it burned. Testing is the best way to find what works best for you.
  10. They are beautiful, they are very realistic looking....love your colors.
  11. Wow, I have try some of that, they are both so pretty but my favorite one is the red one. Nice job.
  12. Natures Garden's fragrance oils are Phthalate free. Plus they are great to deal with and fast shipping:cheesy2:
  13. I store mine in zip lock bags and keep them in a cool dark closet. I have read where some candle makers say not to store in zip lock bag but I have never had a problem. As far as fragrance strength over a long period of time, it depends on the quality of your oils. My more expensive oils will last a year or more, some of the cheaper oils I tried only lasted a few months.:rolleyes2
  14. Candle Cocoon has great fragrances, you can use less than a ounce to a pound of wax, but Ky is my favorite:rolleyes2
  15. I have used both from CC, Watermelon was a real nice fruity watermelon and throws great in Soy. The Candy Corn I have not wicked yet but did use for paraffin/soy wax for tarts and I thought it was a real nice throw. You could use the Candy Corn as a mixer too.
  16. How exciting, good luck in your new business venture. I really love the looks of your shop..wish I lived near by I would stop in, it looks real welcoming:)
  17. I think it depends on what type of wax your using, I use a para/soy blend I just place my tart bowl in the freezer for 15 minutes or longer and it always pops right out.
  18. Shipping USPS to Canada is a higher rate than shipping to any state in the US. Just go to usps.com and click on calculate shipping, then click on international you enter your weight and the type of container and it calculates the shipping cost for any country.
  19. I use the Ky para soy for tarts, I heat to 165 and I don't add the fragrance oil till around 150, mix real good and pour. Works great for me. I have no problem with this wax with hot or cold throw.:rolleyes2
  20. KY carries a great sugar cookie, throws great in Soy wax:rolleyes2
  21. You can't go wrong with KY's soy/paraffin blend for tarts & votives, great throw hot & cold. Plus her fragrance oils rock too:rolleyes2 ...Been buying from Vickey for years, the best customer service ever
  22. I love all of KY fragrance oils and her waxes too. What's nice is she lists which oils work in soy. The Country Gift Shop is a favorite for tarts with her para/soy wax but with soy candles I can't get it to throw too well. Madarin Spice is awesome, so is Vanilla Butter Fudge, really yummy:rolleyes2 Can't go wrong buying from Vickey.
