  1. I lit 2 of the 8 oz jjs with 6% CS Cranberry Marmalade and 6% Pumpkin Souffle..both of those with the LX14 wicks... Got to wick down on the Cranberry - I had a full MP at 3hrs..I always like to have some hangup..wick for the bottom of the jar.. and wick up on the Pumpkin after a 3 hour burn there is just too much wax left on the sides to catch up...I really really love the scent throw. It is truly wonderful... I lit 2 of the 6oz tins with 6% CS Honeydew Melon and 6% CS Macintosh Apple..both with htp 73.. Got to wick down on the honeydew... The whole tin was melted... Guess I can't be lucky everytime...LOL and I am thinking the apple might be ok but will have to burn more.. It sure is different than just my 464... An ECO4 would work great with all of these except the pumpkin, which I had to wick up on. It is so great to try different things. I really like that the candles looked smooth and so pretty after the burns. The only thing that is bothering me at this point and I still have not got them wicked right, is that I can sure tell that they are not going to have good burn times. Maybe when I get them wicked right I might have a more accurate estimate but ???? I am having a blast experimenting and oh my gosh the scent throw is amazing...I am reaching distances that I had only read about...LOL You see I am so simple, it doesn't take alot to get me excited.... Emily
  2. :embarasse I feel like an idiot... DUGH!!! You know I didn't even think about that. Thanks! The tins I did make still look beautiful. I had thought about warming the jars first and see but I am really not wanting to do that. So changing my container might just be the solution I need! Thanks again! Emily
  3. Ok.. i got wet spots out the cahooneys..LOL But that is ok.. I can deal with that..Otherwise they are beautiful! No frost..NO FROST.. WOOHOO! I have to do errands but I am going to light an 8oz jj later this evening..Can't wait..I hope that the wicking is close.. Mu hubby is something. I didn't think he has been paying attention but he has let me know several times since yesterday that he does not like the paraffin. I may have to bump the parrafin on down..Maybe a 75/25..... Emily
  4. I think I can do the wetspots better than the frosting....LOL and the lumpyness.. I did a lot of research on the 4630 and was aware of all the smoking and jumpy flames but I have burnt the straight paraffin twice already today for 4 hour intervals and watched it close and I haven't seen any yet.. but of coarse I am not permanetly going to be using straight paraffin so that don't bother me..The scent throw has been just totally amazing though.. If the 50/50 throws like the straight I am a VERY HAPPY SCENT LOVER!!!!! and I WILL live with the wetspots...LOL I am very curious about some of the scents that would not throw well with 464....Will they throw in this blend? I am going to find out. It will probably be awhile before I can test that. Oh and I used a LX14 in the 4630 6 oz tin and I am on my 3rd burn now and I do believe it is going to be the one.. Great burns....A little hangup but it is catching up just fine.
  5. I have been dying to try my own blend and just got my paraffin in last night. I have been playing with the 464 forever and I like it but the frosting isue was just killing me...LOL So I am trying the 464/4630 blend like a few more on here.. But first of all let me say that I have NEVER created a totally paraffin candle until last night. I tested a bit with the 6036 but then the price jumped and my supplier wasn't going to stock it anymore hence all this new testing. I poured a 6oz tin with 4630 using CS Mistletoe and it was AWESOME!!! I poured at 9 last night and lit up at 7 this morning..Oh my gosh! That was the strongest candle... My hubby said it was so strong that it was pungeunt(sp)..But anywho..I just wanted to try all paraffin at least once so I could compare or ????? Ok so today I made my blend.... 50/50 464/4630... I made 5 6oz tins using 6% CS's Cranberry Marmalade, Pumpkin Souffle, Wildberry Mousse, Honeydew Melon, and Macintosh Apple and using htp73 wicks and 1 dye chip per pound.. Also with the same blend and everything else the same except for the wick and I used a LX14 in 5 8oz jj's.. All of them have set up beautiful.... Just beautiful.. Smooth, no prework..Hoping that I don't wake up in the morning to huge wet spots or anything.... I really think I am going to love this.. I will update as I test.. Emily
  6. I play around a little with tarts and I am not selling at this point but a few of the people that have tested mine in tealight warmers say that 5 tealights will burn out and they still can smell the scent. They are VERY pleased with this and they rave about how they can really SMELL them compared to store bought versions.....I just make mine from 464 for now but it seems to be doing the job well...LOL Emily
  7. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...I did most of my research on 4630 cause that is what I am going to attempt. I would really like to have one of those boxes you are talking about. I have a friend who works in a meat market and I am going to ask him if they have anything like that.. Thanks for the idea. I am so anxious to try my blend.. I have got three full pages of notes of what I am going to do as soon as the UPS truck leaves my driveway...LOL I hope you have great luck and Happy Holidays to you too! Emily
  8. I have not tested a blend (though I will get to tommorrow! ) but I have done lots of research .... Use the word 'blend' in the search and you will get some results... I use 464 and I am finally getting some 4630 in tommorrow so I can try a blend and a straight paraffin.. I am starting my testing based on this thread http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77700&highlight=4630 HTH! Emily
  9. That was my original post but I might possibly have been wrong about Adam being the co-owner..:embarasse I thought I had read or he had told me but after posting earlier I went and looked again at the site and the blog and didn't see anyone but Adam.... Sorry if I was taking your hard earned credit away Adam!!! I am glad to hear the positive responses.... I think I am ready but still questioning myself but when I get ready I am definetly going with GracefulHosting! Emily
  10. I looked at this site..Southern.Scents on this forum is the co-owner. Looks great.. When I get right ready to start a online store I think I am going with them. I checked out some of the stores they are hosting and really liked them. I also found a great bit of useful information on Adam's(Southern.Scents) blog. I had worked on an AgoraCart but that is just tooooo difficult and time consuming and about the same price as GracefulHosting... I am anxious to know if anyone on this board is using them and how it is working out. Emily
  11. I got one of those last year at dollar tree along with some of the cubes but I never have gotten around to testing it... I think it will be a pain but Very Pretty! I am anxious to know the results if you attempt this! Emily
  12. I love Pinkalicious...And it makes me think "girl" not pink frills!
  13. It makes me think about fru fru too.... I like RNS's Sweetie Pie! Thats so cute!
  14. GirlyGirl... GirlyTwist.. LittleNice... I'm not very creative...LOL these just popped in my head...
  15. I tried red and then I tried white... I stuck with the red. In my mind I associate color with scents and when I think candy apple, I think red.... HTH! Emily
  16. Those ones are some GOOD ones.... I didn't personally like the mulberry or the F&M but the rest rocks..... I had placed an order on the 12th... Makes me sick. This could go in another thread that was posted... But oh well.... Still might place another one anyway... I like the asian amber and the rain water too.... The rain water is GREAT! So fresh and clean and strong... And like a real after the rain... Hope you have fun with the new ones... Money well spent...LOL Emily
  17. Cranberry Marmalade is most favorite!!!!! and Rain Water too! Emily Oh and I use 464...
  18. IMO an eco 10 is equal to a cd 12.. I have not tested the lx's enough to have an opinion on those... HTH! Emily
  19. I knew I had seen that on here somewhere... Finally found it.. http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?p=667113&highlight=gelluminations#post667113 Although it's not much help but ...... Emily
  20. I did have fun! And answered some of my own questions...And got a few new ones..I am going to do another one tommorrow and apply some of the things I think I have learned. Hopefully it will turn out pretty enough to take a picture and I will post it.. I got the tip for the lx26 wick browsing in the forums.. Can't remember who suggested this size for 464 and 7oz tureens.. But thanks.. Made my first try beautiful. ..Well beautiful all but the mushrooms. But this has definetly made my rainy day blues better! Emily
  21. CandleScience has them for like 3.95/case without the lids(lids is only like 2 something on their site too) and the shipping to MS was VERY resonable.... HTH! Emily
  22. Ok... I haven't been able to try any new scents or waxes...LOL so I am tired of just pouring the same old scents with the same old wax in the same old jars... HAHA can you tell I am bored yet.. On to the rest of the story.. I seen some of the prettiest candles on ebay and got some ideas.. I have some 7oz tureens and I found some of the cutest little cookie cutters at walstore.... I made some apple embeds colored red and then cut some chunks all this made with 464 and 9% candy apple(my blend) I put the chunks and embeds in the tureen and did an uncolored overpour using Mac Apple with the 464.....It was pretty... I used 1 lx26.. I did not take pictures cause I had sink holes and of coarse when I tried to fix it all got melted together on the top. Got to do something different there. Also the wick has got to be tweaked. I got a good burn with a cd14 once upon a time but that was before the CO and 9% FO..I lit it this morning cause I am more or less just playing and curious about the wick..It has been burning for about an hour and the wick is looking ok but got shrooms already.. Just wanted to share! Hope everyone is having a great day! It is rainy and dreary here! Emily
  23. I thought I was the only one doing that too.....LOL:highfive:
  24. I use toenail/fingernail clippers...... Works great for me! Easy.. cheap.. The doggie ones work great too! HTH! Emily
