  1. Oh tootie, I can't wait to hear your results.... Ah I would like it to be 40 degrees here..... I am in Mississippi and we are already close to the 100's..but with the humidity it feels like 200... I am going to pour some baby magic today and see how that does. I have not tried this scent in any other wax so I have nothing to compare it to. But I have not had a bad experience with this wax yet..... Happy testing for me!!!!!
  2. I did what elfcat said and mine are close to perfect....I only let cure overnight and I have not found a scent that has not thrown yet! I have even tried some FO's that I was having to go 12% with the 464 and they are throwing like crazy at 6% in the 6036. I can't wait to hear what you think about it. I love it!
  3. I have been testing with 464 and 6036 and a cd 8 works for most of my 8 oz jj's. With like vanillas I have to wick up to a 10. I do like the cd wicks. I have not had one mushroom yet. I tried rrd's because a friend suggested it but they ALL shroomed horribly.
  4. I did not notice a big difference at all. I just prefer CD's, but I always like to have a choice in case I run out or who knows what might could happen...LOL
  5. I finally got the wicking right on the small Libbey cube, the diameter is 3 and 1/8 inches with a LX 26 and a CD 14. On both sizes there was some hangup on the first and second burns but it was good to go after that.
  6. Ahhhh... This wax is wonderful. This scent throw from this wax is very comparable to the scent throw of 464 IMO. Great! The cranberry marmalade from CS added at 6% had a great CT/HT and I started the test burn only 1 day after pouring. I think it is a keeper for me. Great appearance before and after the burn, NO FROST, and it's cheaper! WooHoo! The only con was I got a few wetspots. But I can handle the wetspots alot better than the frosting. I think the remedy for the wetspots might be to warm the jars before pouring or adding CO so that will be some more testing. On this initial test I was mainly testing scent throw and for the frosting but a little wick testing too. On my first test burn, the 4oz jj's both acheived a great melt pool in two and a half hours. Nice, clean burn. I had a nice test burn with the heart dish as well. I do think I might could wick down a size smaller than the LX 26 though. The wicking for the small Libbey cube was not right. LOL Got to wick way up.
  7. I wicked most of my stronger scents in this jar with a cd 14. I add 1tsp of CO and 6% of FO per pound of 464 which might make a tad of differnece.
  8. I poured some testers around 8:30 this morning. The appearance is GREAT! so far anyway! Creamy appearance and smooth tops! No frosting. I made two 4 oz jj with 6% CS Cranberry Marmalade FO and wicked with a CD 8 and a LX 16. I also made a Libbey Heart Dish with 6% CS Mullberry FO and triple wicked with LX 26's. And I poured a small Libbey Cube with 6% CS Peppermint Eucalyptus FO and wicked with a LX 26. I am going to test ST with the cranberry marmalade tommorrow. I know it is great thrower and I tested that scent the next day with 464 and it was awesome. Hopefully I am close to the right wick size.
  9. I got my 6036 in yesterday! I am making candles today! So much testing I have lined up. Thanks elfcat for helping me get started on the right track!
  10. I thought it was going to be a wintery scent too, but I LOVE this scent. I do smell hints of orange. This scent makes me feel all cozy and warm feeling. It is a great scent thrower. I poured night before last and lit it yesterday and the scent throw was awesome. Can't wait for it to cure a bit!
  11. Thanks to you guys for chiming in. What temp are you pouring at? I am attempting the tempering a little different. I melted my wax to 180 add dye chip let cool. Then I melted again to 180 and added FO and poured at 155. So far so good. I am going to try some liquid dye also. I am also planning to try the 6036 blend too. I have not experimented with a blend and maybe that is what I am looking for plus its cheaper. So many thoughts, so little money! LOL
  12. Thanks! I am going to order 10 lbs to test. This will be my first blend of any kind, but it sounds great.
  13. If you do not mind me asking are you using color chips or liquid dye? This 6036 sound like what I am looking for. I have been testing with 464 and I HATE the frosting. But the creamy smooth texture and CT/HT I love.
  14. Thanks for the quick reply Stella. But unfortunately I have already been through that thread and tried that and my result was NO CT/HT. I guess I could try the liquid dye. I am such a clutz though! I will have everything colored. I guess it is worth a shot though.
  15. Hi all, I have been gathering so much info from all of your posts!!! Thanks! I have been testing GB464 and I love the wax and the throw! But I am getting terrible frosting (with EVERY color). I have done a search and read and read and have tried everything (I think) that has been posted, adding CO, lower pour temp, constant room temperature, heating jars first. Is there anything else I can try? I am heating to 180 adding 1 tsp CO, 6% FO, and 1 dye chip per pound and pouring at around 145 in warmed jars and placing a box over the top. It was suggested to me to try 435 that it was no change in wicking, but I have been testing so long with the 464 and would really like to make it work. I do remember it being posted SEVERAL times that you can"t have it all.... Either the looks or the throw!!!! HAHA But I do want it all. Thanks in advance for all your help!
  16. I have not formally introduced myself to this board yet and I am fairly new to candle making but I purchased some samples from Brighter Scents to test and I LOVE the Vanilla and Fresh Berries...It is unique to me and just wonderful...
