  1. RRD wicks are great in palm and soy. 100% soy. If you use CB advanced then these are not advisable. I like them, they are very good with palm
  2. Cutting back on a few lines and fragrances. Focussing a lot on palm and soy candles and getting our packaging to perfection. I have too many lines of candles that do well so it will be hard to ditch them, but no point in having a large selection when you can't keep up with production
  3. Hi Richard. Lavender is great in 100% soy. Others are may chang, peppermint, mandarin to name a few. Never tried lime, but it is quite a weak EO IMO
  4. The flame doesn't actually go out but it is very weak. Never happens with other soy waxes for me. I test dozens of times before I make the wick choice so to be sure of a quality candle. Good luck
  5. Hi Richard. We use 100% EO in palm pillars and soy and use 5%. We have excellent CT and HT and have never had problems with anyone saying that the scent was too weak. When they burn they are to die for and fragrance the whole room (who said EO gave a weaker scent throw!!!) You don't need the exorbatant priced EO to get a good result either. The EO are more expensive but chosen well can not be out of the ball park.
  6. 415 is my favourite. You can get rough tops but these can easily be heat gunned. most of the time there are no wet spots. Given the choice, it is a winner for me. HT and Ct are brilliant and it holds EO really well.
  7. I agree with Stella, with soy especially, you need to burn a full candle from top to bottom.
  8. Hey, unless the customer wants to drink from the glass ( they will have to clean it anyway) it is totally acceptable to have a slight residue on the glass. Customers don't want a tunnelling effect so they are left with huge amounts of wax on the outside but a slight residue is totally acceptable. Live and let live. If you have a residue on 100% natural soy this is generally the norm.
  9. As I have posted in previous posts, this wax is designed to achieve a full melt pool even with a smaller wick. I think it is a flaw with this wax as there is always a melt pool but always a very weak flame 2 hours into the burn. I have tried several size wicks with the same result of weak burn, large melt pool and sometimes drowning. Good luck. I personally have changed my wax.
  10. Their wax is designed to have a large melt pool no matter what the wick size (within reason) but I have found that the wick always seems to drown or become very weak after a few hours. This is one of the reasons I am changing my soy wax very soonVery hard to wick this wax as the burn is never uniform throughout the whole container.
  11. Frosted glassware is more expensive to do. Not sure why some seem the same price as the clear, but frosted is very expensive
  12. Use 100% EO and people will love it. Make sure that that they know that is essential oils and not a blend
  13. I personally think you need to pour hotter with this wax so it can cool slower and more regular. I find square containers have better glass adhesion. As I mentioned in another thread, I am not very partial to this wax, though and have many problems with it
  14. Thanks for all your help. I don't think it is overwicked as it would drown if I went smaller. I actually don't really like working with CB advanced as I have a lot more troubles than with 415 and C3, but one has to test other products. I am doing as you said, Stella about burning it for less on the first test. I usually burn so they are idiot proof right from the beginning. Very ugly melt pool and definately not from soot, must be FO. I use this FO in paraffin pillars and colour and don't have any issues. I am going to test this FO in C3 and let you know (when I get a gap to do some testing) Ta again for your replies
  15. Nope, not soot, it happened as soon as I lit it and the melt pool started. Must be the FO:mad:
  16. How bizzare. We used 5% chanel no 5 type (taylored) CD 12 and ecosoya advanced CB. Glass is 2.5" diameter. The wick is probably too small. NO Colour!!! but when it burned for the 1st and 2nd burn times of 4 hours each, the melt pool was a very dark grey, almost black!!! what the hell is going on??
  17. Always get excellent cold and hot throw in palm crystal pillar and GB414 soy container with EO. We only use pure EO and at 5%. Vanilla is the only weak one.
  18. What I have noticed is the candle seems to burn better
  19. I agree, the Cream from Candlewic is perfect maize colour when you have enough drops in the wax
  20. I agree. Consignment has a lot of problems. The shop owner and staff have no inclination to sell your items as they have not paid a cent, secondly they won't care about where they put them and thus they could be tucked away or in the sun etc. You can also get into a situation where you lose track of what the shops have and you lose income. In other words you lose, full stop. Have them buy a small selection and put them all together in one place and see how they go, otherwise give them a miss and move on to those that will buy and appreciate your products
  21. It is not supposed to make a candle more mottled, it just allows it to mottle.
  22. If I have a damaged candle, I remelt and there is not problem
  23. Never used the wax but the FO is excellent and the service is excellent
