  1. It looks like your niece was just thrilled to get it! And to think it was handmade by her auntie! Great job on the quilt, can't want to see some others.
  2. Jola, everything looks great, but I must admit that I too cringed when I saw the albums all warped and such, lol. It was like $$ signs floating across my eyes. The magazine coasters are really neat. I wish I could sit and watch you make them. Of course, the only magazines I get, I wouldn't be tearing up
  3. Those look really great, Lorrie. I hope they are doing well for you in your store!
  4. They look great.... all fun and festive!
  5. Those turned out great! You know, you can take those puffs apart and cut them in half and then tie them back up. That would cut down some on the wad of puff..... only if you don't like that big wad of puff
  6. Congrats on your first CP soaps! Welcome to the addiction
  7. Looking good there, lady. Did you cut the second one by hand, or did you use a mold with dividers? If a mold with dividers, which one? I think I'm about ready to cave and purchase a mold with dividers, but can't decide which one.
  8. Your soaps are still curing during that 4 to 6 weeks period, so shrink wrapping them would not only curtail that process, but you could very well end up with moldy soap. So yes, your soap needs to breath. Use this time to make more soap. There is no sure, fast way to get your soaps to cure overnight, however, if you discount your water, the cure time can be shortened. I would not advise discounting your water if you are new to soap making, especially the 50/50 method. HTH
  9. It looks really cool! My vote.. Don't Chunk!
  10. Welcome RetroMetroChic to the thrills of soaping! I've used Butt Naked FO in some whipped soap and it performed beautifully.. no discoloring. I used it in a regular CP batch and it didn't discolor. I used it in a OHP batch and used some pretty colors. That batch turned all ugly brown and only traces of what once was possible color are there. I haven't figured that one out yet, but then again, I haven't turned all my attention to it either. Scented didn't 8-Gran use the vanilla stabilizer several many months ago? I've been gone for all these months but I know someone used it but never heard the results. Maybe we need a thread on this. It was either 8-Gran or some "Granny" -type name. Sorry, that's all my Rememberer will cough up at the moment
  11. Billie, Thank you for letting us know how well the soap came out of the mold without any sprays and such. Good info to know.
  12. Hi Gran, how's things going by you? I haven't tried the Lexan in any of my molds yet, but when I do, I will most likely give the whole inside of the mold a spray with Pam cooking spray.
  13. From my personal experience Lexan can shatter and break just like those corelle plates and bowls if they drop just right. I've scrolled on Lexan and dropped it... it wasn't pretty. So it is not entirely impact resistant or shatter-proof. Just a heads-up on that.
  14. Wayne, what an ingenious idea. I have some Luan and was just pondering if that would work. It's somewhat like Lexan and cuts on the scrollsaw like a dream. Maybe I'll give it a whirl. I'm just wondering though if it can take the heat from the soap. I'm still pondering that one.
  15. Beautiful texture! The scent sounds divine, I wish I could smell it.
  16. SITC, looking good there, lady! I would love to see it after it turns color. I hope it doesn't go too dark as it would be a shame to have it take over the chunks you put in there.
  17. That turned out just beautiful, Kristy!
  18. Angi, looking good there and I bet it smells wonderful. I love love honeydew. Thanks for letting us have a peek!
  19. Kristy, what a happy soap! I'm glad I didn't miss this one...... so bright and fun looking.... it's Funfettitastic!
  20. It's just too hard to pic a favorite, I love them all! I will admit, though, that I'm partial to the Cranberry Orange Marmalade one, as I love the colors, but then again, I love all your color combos! You've certainly been a busy one, Scented.
  21. Love those colors, girlie! It's going to be a hit, I just know it. And yes, we want cut pics!
  22. Rae, on the greek adonis one, will that darken up over time? Or did you just color the darker swirled part? Just curious because I have a sandalwood amber and it darkens my soap, but then again, it's an fo not an eo, maybe that's the difference.
  23. Wow! How neat is that?! I too thought, by the title of your thread, that I was going to see a blob of something, lol. I'll also have to search the charcoal thing. Is it a special kind of charcoal? or like charcoal used in fish tank filters? Are people using it for the black color or what? I don't get it either. Glad to hear it doesn't make black suds, I'm thinking that could be bad, lol.
  24. Hey, you've got a great marketing combo going there.....your boobs will draw them in, and the glittery gold will keep them shopping at your table longer!
