  1. Scented, I haven't used that scent, but wanted to say how beautiful the colors and swirls are. I may have to break down and do a few CP batches instead of my usual HP ones. I need swirls... colorful swirls!
  2. I probably wouldn't be able to squish the meatballer together hard enough to make them stick together, that's the only thing I was thinking. I got this the other day in my email and was kinda checking it out. Tap-A-Mold Bath Tablet Maker - Large 2" diameter. Finally make those Bath Bombs and Bubble Bars that don't fall apart!! Makes a 2oz perfectly round & firm bath tablet! Just dump 2oz bath bomb mixture in the mold, insert the handled piece, tap a few times with a hammer & you have a gorgeous bath tablet!! Comes with instruction sheet on use and care. it looks just like a piece of metal pipe and you put your stuff in it then put the plunger thingy in and tap it with the hammer. I could have the best of both worlds.... playing with bath and body stuff AND my woodworking tools! LOL
  3. (I probably shouldn't reply to this thread, as it seems every thread I reply to dies instantly) "Personally, *I'm* a closet soap licker. LOL" --Donna Now that I've wiped off my monitor and desk, I can tell you this: Admitting it is the first step in healing
  4. Aha! Snot! Ok, I can relate to that . I've never added castor or any other oil to my castilles, but that is where your "slime" is coming from, the castor. I'm not sure if you are getting any from the babassu because I'm not that familiar with it. CP castilles take anywhere from 6 to 12 months to cure, so maybe yours just need more time. In the meantime, if you feel like playing, make up a batch of HP castille then check it at 2 mos, then at 4 mos, etc. I give my bars with castor oil in them an extra month or so drying time than my bars without it. HTH
  5. Jaq, I don't know if you ran across this site in your search, but they have a Technical Data Sheet on it. http://www.lotioncrafter.com/store/Lotioncrafter-SLSa-pr-16233.html
  6. Ugh, the dreaded orange spots. Sorry to hear about that. I HP castille soap, actually, I HP all of my soaps. It cuts down on the cure time, it lets you use virtually any FO, and you don't have to deal with ash. I do let them sit and dry for a couple months or more, only because a drier bar will last longer. I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean by "slimey". Does the bar still seem to be wet? I guess first I should ask you what type of castille you are making? Olive oil, lye and water?
  7. I am in love with that purple! All of your soaps turned out nice. I really like your color combo for the Cool Waters. I plan on ordering that scent and now you've sent my mind whirling. Don't know if that's good or bad, but it feels kinda funky, so I'm going to just go with it...lol.
  8. They look so yummy! Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to make these?
  9. Love the red! They turned out fantastic. Looks succulant and all ripe, I can almost smell them from here!
  10. I love the green one, what beautiful swirls! I like all the name suggestions, especially Purple People Cleaner for the purple one. Your bath bombs look bombalicious! I've seen some bomb molds recently and was thinking about trying them out. How well does the meatballer work, if you don't mind me asking?
  11. brempel, thank you for sharing that site!
  12. Those should keep you busy for a few minutes at least..lol. But as I said, there are plenty of suppliers in the states who will ship USPS. I don't order from anywhere that uses UPS exclusively. I refuse to pay that brokerage fee for them walking my package over the border when the postal system does it basically for free.
  13. Here are some others: http://www.sudsandscents.com/ http://www.kwspecialties.on.ca/ (click on Other Goodies to find the molds) http://www.sudsandscents.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?
  14. I've ordered from Jody many times over the past 5 years and have never had a problem. I just placed an order the other day and the very next day, it was in the mail. I'm really surprised to see that you are having a problem.
  15. There are several places: http://www.thesoapgoat.com http://www.thesoapymold.com http://www.aquariusaroma-soap.com/ http://cranberrylane.stores.yahoo.net And there are plenty more than that, however, they are all priced about the same and your best bet is to still order from the states. Depending on how many you order, you could have your molds in the same amount of time as it takes to order from a Canadian supplier (as slow as Canada Post is...lol). If you need some sources who don't ship UPS (as we know the brokerage fees are outrageous), let me know.
  16. I've been buying from SOS for a few years now and actually, they're about the only place I buy from. I purchase the Extreme version of most all my scents, that way I'm all set to go whether it be for soap, B&B, or candles. Pam, the SOS strength is about worthless in alot of them. You should try them again and purchase either the Ultra or the Extreme.
  17. Wow, I'm surprised to hear that several of you are far from fond of Pink Sugar. Now, mind you, I have not even smelled this one yet, but have heard that alot of people just love love love it, so much so, that I have it on my next FO purchase list. Dang, is it that bad? Do I need to cross it off my list? And it turned soap black????? Man oh man, I don't think I'd like that at all. Has anyone tried a vanilla stabilizer with it? Spin me around someone and head me in the right direction.
  18. Faye, I love your rose soaps, they look beautiful. I've been using this type of molds lately (I make HP soap) http://www.soapandthings.com/c-130-flexible-molds.aspx I love the sheep one. I also have the His and Hers molds and the Bathtime mold. I can take these out of the molds even before they are completely cooled. That's how easy they release. I just spray some Pam in them.
  19. Those are absolutely stunning! Now I'm off to do a search and see what I need to do to try my hand at one!
  20. Thanks so much Ann, I just couldn't put that together last night for some reason. Doh.
  21. Could someone please translate this part of the direction for me? "If you prefer b/w, add sub it for the soy by 1/2 amount" what does "b/w" stand for? butter/wax? sorry to sound so dumb, but I guess at this moment I am...lol. Thanks so much. Louise
