  1. Open the program, select the image you want to resize, then go to the Image tab, and select the Resize line....this will bring up a dialogue box where you can select the new size you want for your image. Just remember to save the new image....preferably with a new name, so that you keep the original image as it was....just in case you want to change it again in the future. Remember also....making the image smaller is easier than making it bigger due to resolution factors.
  2. If you check your page source for the image that doesn't show up, you will see that the tag before the "http" is still in place....remove the and your pic will show up.
  3. A couple of pics at a show we did last November at a local school. Not a very good turnout due to weather, but we did triple our booth fee.
  4. If you use the HP Image Zone software, you can get the borders on your prints. When you select to print, the dialogue box comes up, there you will see Paper Size....with a scroll down menu. If you choose 4 x 6 for example, and print preview, it will show that your image has a border. You can also choose to select a custom size....by choosing 3.5 x 5.5 and using 4x6 paper...you will gain a 1/4" border that way. For other software programs such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, you can resize your image to gain that border you want. Let me know if you need further assistance. Hope I've been able to help. :smiley2:
  5. We were at a show last year advertised as a home based business show. Turns out there were more "commercial" vendors than anything else. There was a Partylite vendor across the aisle from us as well as a Mia Bella vendor down the row from us. The thing that ticked me off was that the Mia Bella guy came to our table 3 times trying to get us to join his group. I finally asked him how much $ he made last year and when I told him I made more than he I asked "Why would I join you...have to share my income with others in my group when I made more than you doing this alone?" Not sure if his income he stated was accurate and really none of my business...the point being WHY SHOULD I join something that shares percentages of profits when we're doing fine on our own?? Not to mention we hand pour our candles as opposed to being poured via machines mass produced. The Mia Bella factory is close by...less than 20 minutes awayd from us......but our customers buy from us BECAUSE we hand pour! Just venting...thanks! Thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in. :rolleyes2
  6. try Candlewic's pillar blend in their veggie section, originally called CP-1. For removal of wick pins from votives, try warming the bottom of the pin with another lit votive....it helps release the base from the bottom of the votive so you can easily push the pin through. After pouring over 7,000 votives last year, we found this to be the best "non-damaging" way. IMHO
  7. Thank you....we're very excited that we'll be able to have an actual storefront. Our craft and festival show customers are always asking where they can purchase more product.....now they will have two choices..online and the store. We won't be doing anything till the spring....also...we have a baby on the way...so we'll be concentrating on that part of our lives as well.
  8. Hello all. Just throwing this out there...a pic of our new store front. It won't be open for awhile, have to decorate the inside and all. It's 540 square feet. I'll be posting more as we get working on it. We plan a grand opening next year.
  9. We do craft shows, and a website and have just purchased a new home (new to us anyways) that has a separate storefront on the property already. It was formerly a seafood store. We will be refurbishing the store and opening it in the summer time after our baby is born. We'll keep you posted.
  10. I suggest you check out the instructions on making chunk candles found in the Techniques area to the left of this forum. Lots of good tips there.
  11. Sorry.....but petroleum is NOT made from fossil vegetables...it's made from fossil FUELS which is the remains from dinosaur bones, and other decomposed organic materials. TREES are not vegetables either.....trees become peat when decomposed. Paraffin is made from the filtered remains of petroleum oil after it has been refined.
  12. Check them out yourself at http://www.fairwayglass.us/ I didnt see the style you're asking about though.santa frow
  13. You should also check and see if you have to pay a USE tax, we do here in PA. Check with your local tax office or online.
  14. Thanks for the update info, we'll keep it in mind for our own future use. Not that we buy alot of the frosted anyways, but at least we'll know where else to look if we do. Thanks!
  15. Call Paula and ask her how many of the ones you want are left in stock...then ask her about them discontinuing it. Would seem strange to me if they did, but she didn't say anything to me about a discontinuation. I'm interested in knowing what she tells you. We use the Jar Store as our main source, and often buy the frosted containers for special orders.
  16. Just talked to Paula at the Jar Store.....the frosted 12 oz metro is till available on their site. Use the search on the right of the site, and select 12 oz and it will show up there.
  17. We also use the large sheet labels from Avery...#5265 and create our own templates using the newest Avery software Design Pro 5. If anyone needs help, PM us and we'll be glad to give you a hand.
  18. Making a variety of fragrances this weekend, about 150 container candles, about 100 votives and 300 tarts. Of course this will take us longer than the weekend to do. We have 3 upcoming craft shows, and our reps are hosting about 6 home parties between now and Christmas. Always best to get an early start.
  19. Hello For Santa's Pipe I would have tried to match a color for the pipe more than the tobacco itself? Such as perhaps a walnut tone with a hint of Ivory? JMHO
  20. Hello. Just saying hi to all forum members. I've been making candles for about 20 years, soy candles for about 5. We own and operate a small home based candle business selling to both the retail and wholesale markets, as well as doing craft shows and local festivals. Hopefully we will get to know alot of members here, and look forward to gaining/sharing information.
