The description on the site is: "Alure…Intriging…Vanilla surrounds you. Inhale…deeper…you can't escape and you don't want to. Something else…can't place it…ummmm. Vanilla Voodoo has got you!" That's not saying a whole lot. It was smokey OOB and I've had it in fractionated coconut oil for a couple days and it's STILL smokey in that. Usually that's a good enough test for me; the FO changes and improves in the FCO. And besides I really wanted it for b&b, not candles, but not if it's like this. Darbla

The description of 'Vanilla Voodoo' on the Candle Cocoon site says a whole lotta nothing, so I took a chance since I usually love anything vanillaey and bought 4 oz. Is this stuff supposed to smell like smoke? Because it does. If I'd wanted to smell like a campfire I'd just stand next to one for a few minutes. This needs to be renamed to 'Barely Survived A Fire'. What would you do with it? Can I salvage it in some way by mixing it? HMMMMmmmm....... Wonder if I could mix it with something manly and call it 'Red Hot Fireman'? Darbla

I'm am so disappointed that they don't offer any sizes between 1 oz and 8 oz. 1 oz is not enough to test and 8 oz of an FO you've never used is too big a risk. I've started filling up my cart and then cancelled 2 orders because of that. Darbla

The FO manufacturers do, and I thought lots of us chandlers were keeping the names too? Don't you just add the word 'type' at the end?

I have tried many times using straight FO on my skin*, and every single one never smells as good that way as when I have first mixed it with a carrier. I can almost 100% of the time smell something "off" / plasticky / whatever in a straight FO that will be mititgated in a carrier. I don't know why, or if my nose is just wacky, but the result is always better mixed with something else. Also, that oily base makes it stick around longer on your skin. *I've tried several straight FOs just because I wanted to try them, but always when some spills or slips down the side of the bottle I don't let it go to waste. It gets rubbed somewhere on me. Darbla

Yes, for some reason CP soap is harder on the FOs then hot process soap is, so there are more FO failures with CP. I've never made HP; only CP, and I have had it eat up the fragrances.

I used 'Carmelized Pralines' in IGI 4794 votives and I've got to melt them down and try to rework them. That wax just isn't working for me even though others are happy with it, and after your praise of it I'm even more convinced it's the wax. When Green Leaf finally gets 70/30 wax to me, I'll add that to the melted votives and add some more FO. Darbla

Uh huh. What'd we tell you? Huh? Huh? I was hosing myself down with that stuff just a few minutes ago. I made TWO body sprays; one to keep at home and one to take to work. They're light though, so I promise I'm not running anyone out of the office even though I marinate in the stuff. Darbla
