  1. Yes, Rhonda owned Flickers, then sold it to Elements to start up Moonworks. She has a great, great nose for FOs.
  2. Yikes! That's a lot of wicks! What is the wick type? Just curious. I usually get my wicks at candlewic when they do their 50% off sales. But I see that they only have the 3mm self-centering wick. Have you tried that one? I would at least try the 3 mm before investing in a bulk buy.
  3. I've always used the 20 x 6 mm too, and never seen one move around.
  4. Oh my! I think this is my favorite! Probably because green is fav color.
  5. I use and love Flickers Red Tea, but I don't think it smells anything like sweet iced tea. Different noses! And maybe we make different iced tea, too. Red Tea description: Fresh fruity floral with top notes of orange, lemon, lime, apple, raspberry red tea and leafy greens. The spicy floral heart notes are blends of rose, jasmine, muguet and neroli with a base of pine, musk and vanilla Too bad it is on clearance. It's one of my all-time faves.
  6. WSP has Ice Tea Twist - a blend of orange, lemon, tea leaves and sugar But it is $37/pound!!!! It gets good ratings, but then at that price, it better!
  7. What kind of candle did you make? I made some votives with the vanilla latte a couple of months ago, and wasn't blown away with the hot throw. It was just okay.
  8. You could also buy powdered, and make your own liquids. This place has powdered christmas green: http://www.cccandlesupply.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=51&sort=20a&page=1 I placed several orders with them a while ago (maybe 3 years?) for chips and liquid dyes.
  9. Meant to add, have you burned that yet? Does the black discolor at all after?
  10. What did I say that was mean and hurtful? Go "conversate" on another board then.
  11. Once you add additives, or dye, or FO, or whatever, the wicking will probably change, so you are back to square one.
  12. Ooh, some really good recs here! I'll second (or third, can't count) the patch blends from Moonworks. And the straight patch is good, if she gets it in again.
  13. There is also this: http://www.candletech.com/general-information/color-formularies/ The "pear spice" looks close, but it is hard to tell. A good starting point though.
  14. One option is to buy a yellow liquid and experiment with different blue/yellow ratios. I have a liquid christmas green from French Color that is the same as the Reddig chips. I bought it on close-out a couple years ago from C&S. That doesn't really help you though. I wish French Color would sell their recipes. I am too lazy to do the experimenting myself!
  15. Well, that's interesting! I can't say I have ever experienced that with any wick.
  16. If the zincs are working for you, then I would stay with them!
  17. Cute! "Wicked Good" anything sells really well here in New England!
  18. I use the same wax and got mushrooms galore with the zinc wicks, worse than any other wick.
  19. I agree. Seems like twice the work, and more annoying plastic to stick to.
  20. chocolate biscotti chocolate milk cotton blossom vanilla fresh bread plus some molds and dyes look in the clearance section
  21. Have you tried adding a smidge of black? I find that deepens reds. If you buy from candle chem a lot, you should try their liquid dyes. I believe they are French color, but I am not certain. I use the red liquid, with a bit of black liquid.
  22. I really like this FO too. I made some 4630, 6 oz tins, with 6% FO load, HTP wick, and man they threw like mad! That said, I can't imagine wanting lotion or perfume from this FO!
