  1. I recently made a batch that was more lathery, this was the first time I realized there was a difference. It is more of a creamy feel. So I didn't know there was a difference either. I prefer lather too. So does my dog. This is the first cleanser I can use on her without drying her skin. But I miss the bubbles they are so pretty.
  2. So we won't be able to get small quantities anymore, only bulk? How many oz is considered bulk? Great one more thing to pay shipping on:angry2: Is this suppose to reflect in our prices to the customers?
  3. Ok, now I am curious, what is Kemamide? I haven't heard of that yet. Please fill me in.:smiley2: I will try pouring hotter. And maybe add the stearic acid. I have heard many people talk about how effortless it is to get these out of their molds, I'm jealous:( I typcially make them at night and try to get them out in the morning. Should I be waiting longer, maybe give them a day or so?
  4. at what percentage do you use the palm stearic? Do you only use this for mold release? I find the scent throw in this wax is really great, it seems better than soy, really. Is Palm Stearic just called veg. stearic acid?
  5. I am using candlewic palm #3. I pour at about 180. I made one candle with 8% fo and the other bout 6%. Is this too high? I have aluminum molds and I don't preheat them. I have poked release holes. I have even tried doing release holes then repour into them after the wax has had plenty of time to set up, and still end up with holes. This isn't that big of a deal to me because it is at the bottom only. I can live with the holes. I really love the looks of this wax when it is done right. I hope I can make this work. (I ordered a very large amount) Which brand do you guys use? Wicking has also been difficult. I am testing an LX 22 in a 3" right now and it is still too large of a flame. I don't care for RRDs in this wax. I think I may try some Eco wicks. So hopefully someone can spot what I am doing wrong so I make this work. Thanks:smiley2:
  6. I still having so much trouble getting this wax out of the molds. I have tried putting them in the freezer, mold release spray, and tapping them on the counter. The only thing that was working great was using an air compressor to push them out. Then I had a pretty bad accident doing this so I would rather not do this. Are there any other ideas:confused: . I also get big holes in the bottom of the pillar with this wax. Is this the nature of this wax or is there something to do about it?
  7. I have been testing this wax a lot - both the old and new version. I loaded up the scent in both versions. At first I couldn't get barely anything from the old version, then I let one of the old version sit for a couple weeks while I focused on the new stuff. I relit the old one recently and it is totally filling the house with scent now. So maybe all this wax needs is time to make the scent throw better. I like the looks of this wax much better than others I have tried, and I think it behaves more stable than some of the others. I'm going to keep trying it and just give it more time to cure.
  8. It worked great thank you so much for responding:smiley2:
  9. I have created a logo in my paint program. I just need to move it to the one side more but I can't seem to figure this out. Can anyone tell me how to do this? It is a drawn image not a clipart. I don't even want to start over on this just to move it over.
  10. I do a cassia/patchouli and people really like it. Cassia is related to the cinnamon(sp?) plant.
  11. Does anyone use the refill colors for the printer cartridges? I am considering getting some of these to save money on label making, but I want to know if they are worth it. If anyone uses these, is there a brand better than another?
  12. I've been really slow too. It is a little scary when I just put some really big orders in for fall stuff. I'm so new to this business I know nothing of the ups and downs of it.
  13. Are you using wick pins? They are the best for making sure your wicks will be centered.
  14. This wax does require a much larger wick than other soys, from my experience. I have started mixing it with a softer soy Pillar blend (KY actually) I have found I can use the smaller wicks now. I like LX series in Ecosoya/Ky wax. I was running into the issue of having too large of a flame when I wicked up and too small at the next size down. If you find you have this issue too, mixing the waxes works for me. :smiley2:
  15. I like this one. It is really cute and could be marketed in many different ways.
  16. In one of my container orders I found some broken jars. I called the company and they gave me a credit for them. The bummer was I didn't check every single jar, as I got to the end of the box I found more. This was a month or so after getting the order. Thankfully the company was nice enough to still give me credit after all that time. I have just learned to take out ALL my jars and look at them when I get my shipment now. It is a bother, but I don't want to loose money though.
  17. I live in san diego and there is nobody even close to me. Most of the suppliers I have found are in the east. I have to pay so much for shipping!! I have been thinking of becoming a west coast supplier too but I don't know how to get started buying Ecosoya directly. I can only find websites that carry it. I don't want to just hike up the price I buy it at now, that's not really wholesale, I want to be a real wholesaler for the west coast. I don't like it when people say they are wholesale and they are really just doubling their price they paid from other distributers.
  18. I have seen some of the great work some of you have done with your logos. I was wondering if someone would be interested in helping me make mine. Pleeease:D ! I know what I want, but I don't know how to put it on the computer.
  19. I have been waiting for some wood diplays that were supposed to be out to me in three weeks, it has now been a month and a half since I placed the order. I have emailed them to ask where they are but received no response. My credit card was charged the day after I ordered. Nice!! They were very quick to help me when I placed the order.
  20. The cheapest way is to get a miter box from home depot - about $6.00. There are some other ones on the internet, they can be quite pricey compared to this.
  21. I got a digital thermometer at Walmart, I like it much better than the glass ones. I believe the digital gives a much more accurate reading. I would like it to be longer and have clip though. But it still works really well.
  22. My regular job is a highly competitive job. I do hair. We have 4 salons and 1 barber shop in our shopping center alone. I don't mind the competition because I know I do a good job. I feel the same about the products I make. If people like them they will keep buying them. I don't need to exclude other people to sell my stuff. Just like I don't need to get rid of all the other hairstylist in my area or my salon to make a living. Business is all about competition, not monopolization. Where would Walmart be without the ability to carry fifty different brands of soap or lotion? One of the FM coordinators told me, when we were dicussing why I couldn't sell soap there, he doesn't care if someone has exactly the same fruit that he does in the booth next to him. And most other fruit vendors there do. He said his hands were tied because this particular soap lady threw a fit when she saw someone selling soap there too. I just feel this attitude is very unprofessional. So speaking with her is abviously not going to go well.
  23. I have seen really cute bear clothes at Michaels and some of the fabric stores around my house.
  24. That is so funny you said that because I was thinking the same thing - about starting my own. I wonder what it would take? They do seem very political. Who would have thought:confused: . The closest one to me only allows actual farm produce. Nothing else is excepted. Every once in a while they allow crafts. The other ones close to me only allow the other lady in. It seems to me if you have store front you wouldn't need to set up at a farmers market. I wouldn't even want to. I have checked into some of the street fairs coming up and they want close to $400 for a spot. This is very steep for me as newcomer. I most likely will not make this back. Plus it is in the fall. I want to make some money now.
