  1. That is what I wanted to know thanks very much!
  2. I want to get into making soaps for occasions like babies, weddings...... I typically make cp soaps in loaf molds. My question is will the cp soap gel properly and turn out the same if I pour it into these decorative molds? How long do they need stay in the molds? I guess it would be best to do a rebatch on these but my rebatches are usually kind of clumpy and don't pour nicely. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Are you talking about really dry skin? If so, make sure you exfoliate your skin really well before you use your moisturizers, that will help quite a bit.
  4. That is interesting. My main interest for this is to get some dark colors more compatible with the soy. Sometimes going really dark I can get frosting from the colors. Last night I tried to use some things like the beet powder. It mostly sank to the bottom. The color was really pretty. I wish there was a way to thoroughly breakdown the color in the wax. I also did a pearl blue mica. It did better but still had more color on the bottom. Actually the info you gave me has the website I was talking about in my original post. If anyone is interested here it is. http://www.portalmarket.com/torch.html This looks so cool but I can't figure out how they do it.
  5. I ran into a website the other day that said they color their candles with natural colorants, such as alkanet, annato, beet, and so on. I was going to share it but I forgot to bookmark it and can't find it. I have used many of these to color soap, but I was wondering if anyone has tried this with candles. Most of the time the color is blended with oil or water when it is added to soap. I just can't see how these types of colors would mix with the wax. I may try some just for kicks. I have a thing of beet powder calling my name. If anyone else knows about this I would love to hear more.
  6. I know you are trying to make this color out of the ones you have already, but I thought I would let you know candlescience has some chips called sage green that are really pretty. Very easy to use and they do well in soy and palm wax.
  7. If it is a local check I take it to their bank to ask if they have the funds in there now. If so I just get the cash right then. Only you don't get back your bank fees this way.
  8. Excellent job!! It is really easy to find everything. You've done a great job with youf product descriptions. I like the part that you included your shows coming up, good idea.
  9. The flame doesn't flicker, it is pretty nice looking and steady, only it is about 3" tall. I think I tried some RRDs before and they didn't burn out to the side enough. They just burned straight down. I will try them again. What about the square braids or hemp, have you ever tried any other lines besides LX and RRD?
  10. I didn't know if I could post names but I will anyway I dont want anyone else getting ripped off. http://www.creationherbal.com http://www.creationsoap.com Here are their websites. It looks like they go by two different names. Everyone think twice before dealing with these people.
  11. I am so frustrated. About May or June I ordered a fairly large amount of essential oils from this company. I heard nothing from them after I place the order. After a couple weeks went by and didn't get anything I called them. They had excuses about moving blah blah blah, and gave me a ship date. I had to call back several times to see if it had gone out after now showing up after the given dates. If my credit card hadn't been charged already I wouldn't have bothered. After about a month and a half I finally got PART of my order. Knowing I never wanted to do business with them again, I didn't want them to send the back ordered items I just wanted a refund. I talked to them about this too. Two months went by with no credit to my account. I called them again (seriously this was about my fifth or sixth call to them maybe more). They had a bunch of excuses again - blaming the credit card companies and so on. They said they wanted to send me a check for my refund. Another two weeks went by and I finally got a check. Well guess what? Big surprise the check bounced!!! Now I am out even more money because of them. Am I just out this money? I can't believe this. And this company talks about doing ministries and all that on their website too. Boy I guess they saw me coming a mile away.
  12. I am stuck between wicks right now for the feather palm. LX 22 is too small and LX 24 is way too big of a flame. I finally get these things out of the mold and now I can't get the wicks right at all. You'd think I would give up by now. If anyone knows of a wick from a different wick line that would burn in between a 22 and 24 please let me know. Thanks.
  13. Depending on how many labels you are making you can run a candle over them, the wax seals the ink. It is a quick, and no mess trick. I have used this on my sugar scrubs and those labels are lasting longer than the labels on the products I have bought at the store.
  14. I'm with Terrie, I like chips and liquid but blocks seem to react poorly with my wax. I'm really liking how the darker colors turn out with the liquid. I think chips are best for lighter colors.
  15. I get goat milk from the grocery store or a health food store. Is that a possible source for you?
  16. which label size do you use? Ordo you just use a full sheet and cut them?
  17. what are the best - and easiest - ways to label your lip balms. I was just curious what other people do. Do all you add the ingredients, contact info..., on the label?
  18. Thank you very much for this site. I guess this type of sweetener could be an option, I really wanted to stay natural though. Oh well, like I said I can chose one flavor to sweeten and it will be the consumers choice from there. So far one of my favorite flavors has been toasted coconut, I am a coconut freak. But this is not over the top sweet smelling.
  19. Thanks, by reading this link it doesn't look like there is a way to successfully sweeten lip balm. I don't think the powdered sugar would it mix into the oil, just like the stevia powder? I guess you could test it in some warm oil to see what it does. I think you are right when you said that using a sweet smelling flavor oil does make you think it is sweet. Many of the lip glosses from the stores are sweet though, I wonder how they do it. I don't want all of mine to be sweetened but it would be nice to get at least one type sweet.
  20. I've used honey in lip balms twice now and it doesn't seem to blend, instead it stays in a ball at the bottom of the cup while I am pouring. I haven't been able to taste it in the mix either. Is there a way to make it blend better? Or is there a better sweetener? I have also tried liquid stevia, I didn't taste that either.
  21. I've used the ecosoya pb for a while now and it seems to do pretty well for scent throw. My distributer recommended not to get the vb. Sometimes my votives smell stronger than my pillars, I don't know why that is though. I ordered the ky pb brand and I felt like it was a little too soft, so now I blend the two waxes. Both had some nice qualities that compliment each other.
  22. good news I tried pouring hotter and added 5% stearic and it eliminated the holes and they came out of the molds with ease. The feathering pattern was still very nice. woohoo, problem solved :cheesy2:
  23. oh well at least I can contact them and get some info. I feel like I have more hope now. How long do you wait before you try to get them out of the molds?
