  1. wow, they stink? Did you buy these from someone that made them or from a large distributor? The brand I buy is from Darcie. I've never had an issue with smells. Although a few of my bulbs have turned yellow, I think that is from the oils I use. HTH
  2. I don't have a smooth sided mold. I have a primitve line of stuff and to me it was alittle more modern for my taste. Although I do think they would be neat to use for photo and embeds. I like the 4" size. I think any smaller and people would balk at paying $25.00 a piece for them. That is what I charge. I get my cords and bulbs from ebay off of a very nice lady. I will pay on friday and I will have my things on Monday! She is so quick! fawnzydingo Here's a link to her stuff! I make my own warning labels as I couldn't find a place that did electric candle warnings. I put them on the bottem of the candle pan and then on the package I put "please read all directions/warning on bottom of pan". I use my FO in the refresher oil bottles. I hope this helps. Have you bought your molds yet? Where did you get them? Jennifer
  3. I don't make "real" candles only the electric ones, so I don't know all the wax types or the additives. But I will tell you what I use. I just use a standard high melt paraffin wax. I some vybar to make it hold more sent and in my opion the wax just looks better with it in it. I melt, add my additives, color then add scent, stir, let cool and pour into my silicone mold. Let them harden up good before you unmold them. I still have a hard time doing that! Some times I melt just paraffin wax with the additive (no color) and use it as a dip to give my candles an iced look. I scent my wax and I also give the buyer an option to purchase a 1oz refresher oil at $3.00. People really love them. Also don't forget to put useage labels and warning labels! Do not use outside or around water. Do not leave it on more the XX number of hours. Be sure to add a "use" label on the oils. I add a sticker to the oil bottle "To apply dip q-tip into oil, rub on the inside of the candle not on bulb" And...replace bulb with a 5w silicone bulb. HTH Jennifer
  4. I REALY like it. Clean, simple, and pretty. If I didn't LOVE primitives so much this is the style that I would do.
  5. Could you take that goo-gone (or what ever it's called) and a razzor blade and get it off? That's a cheap price. I know I know what to do with them! Make those grubby jars out of them! That will cover up the candle name! HTH Jennifer:yay:
  6. She's looking to get something for nothing. I would say that 30% was very nice of you. If you feel like you need to explain your self to the board that she vented on I would.
  7. Love them! Are the labels paper or fabric?
  8. This is just my experance: I can't say that this is normal but.... I've had paraffin tarts/melts completly burn off... I make soy tarts and they do not burn off... I had only used the paraffin tarts before and was wondering why the soy ones were still lingering. Go figure!
  9. I don't know how this is done. But you can't expect someone just to give up all her secrets!
  10. I've bought oils from: amditributors I've bought 3 large lots from him and they were all good quality oils! I've bought from: candlesource Both were quick to ship! HTH I got 20 lbs for $150.00 I think that's a good deal!
  11. Did you just leave them outside or was their a solution that you use?
  12. I use uncut FO that one would use for candles. The scent is long lasting, and the buyer has the option to buy a 1 oz refresher oil if they desire. I sell the 1 oz bottles of oil for $3.00. I have a few people that order several at a time. HTH Jennifer
  13. I buy unscented, people like varity. Scent them your self, you'll have alot more options!
  14. Wow, that looks like a coast line at dark! Very lovely!
  15. I have no idea. I'll be waiting for the answer to that too.
  16. Do not sit on stained or painted furnitue without something between the container and it. Do not pour down the sink! Boy-o could you imagin what a mess it would make in your pipes? Ofcourse, keep away from children and pets. someone else should have better advice. Jennifer
  17. During the civil war women use to send hard cakes to their husbands and sons. They didn't sue milk or eggs to keep it from spoiling. Kind of like a fruit cake but wil raisins and apples. I found a lady that was selling the recipie on ebay. I've made several of these in wax and dough.
  18. lol, The last one looks like those ink blots that always looks like naked ladies. Although she's missing her head! EKKK.
  19. Why would you want to pay almost $2.00 for an ouce of wax to rescent? Buy some soy wax and a bottle of oil and make your own. You're not going to get much help comming here and being rude. My sugestion if you want to stick around and learn form these wonderful people is it get a better attitude and wait a few hrs on a reply before calling people names.
  20. LOL, That's so funny and true. Oh, I like them both, but with the rasins better! They look so real!
  21. I get mine from ebay. For under $2 each. She's the fastest shipper I've ever seen!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/10-WHITE-DARICE-CLIP-LIGHTS-ON-OFF-SWITCH-6-CORD_W0QQitemZ170106360766QQihZ007QQcategoryZ3201QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I just bought 100 cords about 2 weeks ago. She should be able to accomadate larger orders with out a problem! This is the cheapest place I've ever found. HTH Jennifer
  22. I've bought several molds from her. Been happy with all of them. I have alteast 8 some duplicates. :-)
  23. There's alot of info on here about silicone bulbs. Too much to repeat. I'm sure she dips the bulbs int he silicone then sprinkels the glitter on while still tacky. Atleaste that how I would do it. Silicone is tricky to work with, may be better just to buy them from her if she's not too expensive. hth
  24. I'm currently making them from wax, but that is costly. I'd like to make them out of salt dough. I'm just wondering how long would I have to bake something this large and at what temp? If anyone knows if saltdough would work or what temps and length to bake it at I would be really greatful!
