  1. Maybe you already know this since it is an old thread but Wickit does have a yield chart for the premier 700 series. Just thought you might like to know just in case.
  2. Justastarr Creations??? Just-A-Starr Creations ?
  3. I 2nd the spiced cranberry thats my fav right now. great HT & CT in C3. I also have loved everything I have purchased from there outside of the vanilla sugar I am having such a hard time wicking vanilla.
  4. fancy candle jars has those too you might want to check that out as well they are located in northern illinois if i remember right
  5. Thanks for the info girls. I will be sure to get that book. Sounds like a good one
  6. I am new to this too but I so remember asking that very same question. I didnt use vybar tho. For what its worth coming from a noobie this may sound strange but since I live in an old drafty farmhouse I read on here where room temp makes a difference. So what I did was this...i purchased a space heater, room themometer put it in the big bathroom (yes my bathroom), put a kitchen table in there and heat that baby up to 74* to 78* melt my wax in the candle room and then take my pour pot to the bathroom & pour at 165* using C3, no more wet spots either. I still use a HG some but not like I was. The box thingy didn't work for me. My problem was air pockets under the surface that you couldn't see around the wick but they were there. The tops looked fine until you started burning one. It is unreal what room temp does. I couldn't believe the difference. If I hadn't found this board I probably would have given up by now. Good Luck & welcome
  7. Hi everyone, I love the goats milk soap & lotion from cracker barrel and I am hooked on it. I was thinking maybe I could make my own eventually. My question is this....what book would you guys recommend for this. Figure I can read up on soap between making candles lol. Also would it be better to do a HP or CP soap using the GM. TIA everyone
  8. hi stella I'm am testing new jars using C3 and wicking the little terrace jars 4 oz. I just don't like the curling of the reg cd wicks or any wick that curls, these jars are so small and when the wick curls one side of the jar just seems to get hot in my opinion. I saw somewhere on the board where the cdn wicks didnt curl. Thought I would would try them and see. I just become a grandmother 2 weeks ago for the first time and I had this brainstorm of an idea that I could take these little jars with clear labels and market them at baby showers and wedding receptions by putting the baby name, date of birth, weight with a stork, same with the wedding reception idea. The labels really turned out cute as could be. I guess I am just totally afraid the jars will get too hot considering they will probably be burning for so long at a wedding reception. Am I going over the deep end and worrying too much?
  9. ok, I have to ask what is so bad about this company overall. I ordered from them (jars) when I first started and I didn't think the arrival time nor the shipping cost were out of hand. Maybe it's because I was new to all of this and I didn't know what to expect. hmmmm thinking I will pull out my invoice and see what the actual shipping cost was.
  10. Your right, the larger qty is all i can seem to find. I went through the list of suppliers last night and wicks unlimited and wickit are the only 2 that carry them. I ordered a sample pack of cotton wicks, it's about the only wick I haven't tried so far.
  11. Can someone tell me who carrys CDN wicks besides Just by Nature and wicks unlimited. Just by Nature doesn't carry the size I am looking for. I really wanted a sample packet with the CDN 5-6-7..
  12. I get my sexy as sin from the kuma sutra line at NG and it is awesome, great hot and cold throw, all my friends go crazy over it
  13. I don't know if it would be fesible to do a co-op or not. I do know that it isn't that far from Indpls, I pulled it up on mapquest once and i think it was like 3 or 4 hrs (close to that) which really isn't all that far. I was thinking about driving my truck over there to get a pallet if I could get someone to go in with me that might be close. I have seen a few members on here within an hour or so from me. I'm not sure where Leo is but if we did do it maybe we could all meet in a general location like Indy and then we wouldn't have to reship them if we got enough of us in the general area. But I do have several options as far as picking them up if anyone is interested. But I am not taking care of the money and stuff on here for a co-op I am too new of a member for that. Looks like the co-ops are alot of work but I will volunteer my services for going after them if that helps any. Heck who knows maybe they would let us mix and match if we got X amt of cases or dollar amt. I think those little flower pots are cute. I wonder how heavy those are though. I know the metros are nice and heavy.
  14. Well that sure does clear up alot. What you said does make sense. I suppose it would be easier to get spam if your name was your actually email addy. I do have one thing to say though. In my yahoo account it is nothing to get 200 spam emails a week. In my regular account thru my isp i don't really get any to speak of, maybe 1 or 2 a week. Recently I closed my account with paypal because I forgot my password when my computer crashed and I no longer do ebay. I did receive a couple of spams in the last 2 yrs. I had that account for probably 6 yrs and unused for the last 3 yrs. I wasn't even for sure how much money was in there. I did open the spam I received because I didn't know any better. I actually thought it was paypal. I remember the subject line was quartler statement which was kinda strange because I had never received that in the past but thought oh well they have changed their program, not a big deal. If I do sign up for it again (which i probably will, too many goodys in the classifieds) I will just not open them, no matter what. Thanks for explaining some things for me.
  15. good luck with indiana glass emailing you back, they didn't me. you might want to call them. i just haven't gotten around to it yet but they do have a big variety. i like the jars at fancy candle too. shipping cost are just totally ridiculous. this board is awesome, lots of talent on here and great ideas. maybe someone can get a co-op going on some jars for us one of these days
  16. ok nevermind, i figured it out lol im blonde today
  17. oh well i guess i won't be getting paypal again because i have outlook express and when i click on a msg to delete it, it automatically opens the msg in the box below my incoming mail box. guess i will have to try to figure out how to change setting (even if i can). oh well maybe there is something else out there to use. i will have to do a search and see.
  18. i closed my account with paypal a long time ago. i was going to reopen another one but i am not sure i should do this now. i have read on here where a lot of ppl are using propay. is that any better or just the same with all the spam? i am not familiar with propay at all which generates this question...if i have propay and someone else has paypal and i buy something say off the classifieds can that person accept my payment ?
  19. erinmfritz I dont know how close you are to Indpls but there is a place on the northside called flower factory. They have a big selection, styles come and go but I didnt see any metro jars there last time. I did ask them if they had more of a selection and they said they could order in from the home office store. Also there is Indiana glass and they have a $299 minimum right now (not sure if thats all the time or not) they have a "candle" section and a "craft" section, not sure which category i saw the $299 minimum on but maybe you could drive and pick them up. if i remember right the outlet store is in eastern ohio. ok i found the link to the $299 minimum. I haven't called them yet to find out all the details but here ya go maybe it will help ya. good luck http://www.indianaglass.com/catalog.asp?cat=1
  20. Ok this might sound crazy but here it goes. If you melt down wax from a larger jar so you can test a smaller container do you think it burns differently than making a fresh batch? I may be crazy but I think it burns different. Someone correct me if I am wrong. The remelted wax seems to be burning much better than the fresh batch I just made.
  21. Eslian Creations Li'San Creations Le'San Creations Li-San Products Elsi-Ans Creations An-Es-Li Creation I am terrible at this but here goes. Heck took me months to figure mine out.
  22. Wow, more great ideas to think about. Ok I looked at beckys website, she does very nice work!!!! Here is my problem. I have spent so much money on supplies and testing (this adds up fast !!!!) that I really need to keep my spending at a min right now. I had to buy a new printer which was unexpected that WAS NOT cheap by no means. However she is VERY resonable. I am going to try and do this on my own for right now and will more than likely end up having her do this for me later. I know whatever I do will not even come close to what I saw on her website. Thanks again for some very good ideas
  23. lol yep bill, cattle drives on those old westerns were right through town. Thanks everyone for the suggestions, you gave me some ideas to work on.
  24. It was me, I am the guilty one. I was in hopes that she might see the msg considering I couldnt send her a msg. I just thought I might be able to get jars close by w/o having to pay for shipping, it is rather expensive. Hate that darn shipping cost on wax and containers.
  25. I thought about the mercantile building too, in fact I did a search for weeks until i found one that i THOUGHT i liked. After I put it in a layout, it look funny. I also thought about a western hat & lasso but that reminded me of cowboys/ranching to much. So what I did was this......I live in an area where they promote old time festivals. There was this old general store when I was little that was in a 1 horse town so I snapped a picture and edited it to black and white. On the 2nd story railing I put General Store across it. I wish I could upload a picture to show you the label I designed I could really use some feedback but for some reason I just cant figure out how to load a picture on this site. I don't think I am allowed to or something Prairieannie, i like the idea of the merchant/lasso idea.
