  1. Hiya Glo, Not to hijack this thread or anything but I tried viewing your website via clicking on your name and it says url not found. What is your link, I am not sure what supplier you are. Sorry I should probably know but I don't. Thanks Nitra Ok, nevermind on that I just clicked on your profile I figured it out. Dumb me !!!!
  2. I am just starting to play around with votives myself and I have been researching votive holders I did run accross this site. I didn't think they were very expensive but I am not done researching on the best prices/places yet either. I have to run to town later today and I will be checking out the dollar tree as well but here is a link for ya if you are thinking about putting the votive holder in your packaging. I know I am going to because my friends are terrible when it comes to burning candles, they just lite it and let it go http://cudge.net/votive_holders.html
  3. check this thread out http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43436&highlight=votives if you enlarge the pic you will notice she has a votive in her packaging, HTH
  4. Ok, I was curious so I dug out my last order from NG and I ordered 8-16 oz bottles of FO (nothing else was ordered) and shipping was $10.57 UPS. I really didn't think that was too bad. Plus $8.00 discount off. Maybe part of it is being so close to Ohio ???
  5. Wow, I am very impressed with a company that actually listens to customers needs and then does something about it. I am definitely going to check out this special going on as well. Any recommendations anyone ??? Guess I will go do a search and see if I can find some threads on their FO. I'm gonna be so broke before I even get to the point of selling candles in quantity. Oh well, I can think of worse things to spend my money on that aren't as fun.
  6. I know this is an old thread but I just saw this about packaging. Are you saying that the FO will eat right through a polypro bag that you would use for like votives or tarts ???? I haven't packaged my air fresheners yet, so I am curious if I should think of some other way of packaging them.
  7. thanks, for the new list but have you noticed there are a few suppliers not on that list ??? I just took a quick glance at this but it doesn't even show Illinois on there, not sure if any others are missing or not
  8. My soap and suppliers list by state isnt working. All of a sudden the link is just a bunch of words...........anyone else having this problem http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html not sure where to post this, sorry if its in the wrong place
  9. Wow, very nice, love the colors & designs i am just dying to try rustics i'm gonna have to go to the classies and see if i can find some molds. all the pics i see on here are just wonderful
  10. Ok here is my feeling, if you complain about a driver whether it be fedx or ups doesn't matter, their boss is going to say, ok dude such n such said you mishandled her pkg. whats the driver gonna do now??? well!!!! he will probably do it more cuz you complained about him just to p*** you off even more. just my 2 cents I only had one problem with fedx on a shipment and they left it outside on my grill and the dog tore it up, I was furious cuz it was my medicine which isn;t cheap. Anyway, I put a sign on the back screen door in REDDDD that states please set pkg inside the door or the dog will tear it. Next time he was here I went out and talked to him NICELY and he said he understood and didn't realize...so just try to talk to him nicely and see what happens and explain things, IMO you get more with sugar than you do with vinegar
  11. i have an email from a wax supplier and this is what it said.......... Must be able to purchase 1/2 truckload of products at one time - 19,800 lbs. Would need to be able to establish credit for same. Need to have website available. Would need to promote the (i won't mention the brand) brand on the website. Facility you are selling from must be presentable - clean, neat and well maintained Pricing based on a minimum purchase of 12 pallets (19,800 lbs) is: $0.59 $0.57 $0.72 $0.64 This is for 4 diff kinds of wax...... Don't know if you have gotten as far as getting prices or not but thought I would share what info I have.........HTH
  12. lol @ wanda your funny girl...........nice chunks, love the purple ones
  13. Just a thought, I dunno if it sounds off the wall or not but here goes. If you print your own labels why not change the label a little bit plus different jars for the gas station account ????
  14. does the fo effect the colored blanks like it does the white ones ? or is it best to just get the white ones and forget it
  15. I agree, jeans make a great rag rug. I have 2 looms one for rugs and one for finer items like dishtowels, scarfs etc. Woven placements out of jeans are cute too and they wash really well. Don't ya just hate warping a loom glo I know I do Thanks for the links texasbrat
  16. Searching thru the archives I saw a post about summertime vs wintertime wicking. It said....... I have two choices: Wick for summertime (which is when I sell a LOT of candles at farmer's market -- also I have a lot of website customers who live in the desert southwest where it's hot). Then the candles will burn a bit more slowly in winter and might leave a bit of hang-up on the jars.OR I can wick hotter for wintertime burning in colder climates, and risk having people's jars getting too hot and cracking in summer/warmer climates. For me, I'd rather be safe and risk having slight hang-up over letting jars get too hot with bigger wicks ok my question is this......i started making candles this past fall, i would like to hear everyones opinions on what their idea of a hot jar is (I am sure everyone has different opinions, maybe not) Also, does this mean I have to retest all scents for summertime months considering I started in the fall/winter If this sounds like a stupid question then just overlook it. thanks
  17. I used to work for columbia house in customer service (where you order CD's) anyway their policy was this......if anyone even MENTIONED the better business bureau, REFUND THE MONEY!!! They always told us in training sessions that no company wants the better business bureau on their back. HTH good luck
  18. I have a question. I know I am new but I did tons of research and still doing it on this board and every place I could think of. It took me forever just to decide on a label, I would make one then chance my mind. I guess my question is this, I have not seen you mention anything about a business have you gotten your TID yet? or insurance? Do you have your labels made? etc.
  19. Very Nice !!! Hard to choose. totally 2 different looks. Send em both!!!
  20. Well I think its good to know also. But I see 2 sides of this. Lets say 2 brothers own both places together. They started out as one company and decided to branch off with another name, you know, same company different name for business purposes. Not putting all your apples in one cart kinda thing. IMHO one brother may not run his company the same as the other (if thats the case). Lets say you buy from company 'A' had a terrible experience and you found something on company 'B' website and couldnt find it anywhere else or the price was just too good to pass up. Myself I would give them ONE try and if the service was good I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from the said company 'B' again. However, it could be a family thing where they just don't 'get along' so to speak it does happen in family business, have seen it happen before.and they broke out and each to their own, who knows. I haven't ordered from either company yet but a friend of mine has and was pleased. If I ordered from them all the time knowing myself like I do I would just call and say, hey!!! I have a question, I was looking at GL and JBN websites and by chance would you 2 companies be affiated in anyway and just ask some questions till I was satisfied with the answer they gave me. Then you know for sure. I probably didn't make much sense so I will shutup now lol...Hope I don';t make anyone mad with this post if I do it wasn't intended to be that way. I will apologize if so. JMHO is all. I always see a flip side to everything.
