  1. I give up. I will be more careful now.She did say it might be possible someone got it. This was a medium flat rate box.I do my best using flat rate.I have the PO compare pricing and it always the way I go. After using the small Priority mail box and having it weighed with 4 candles from Ohio to FLA I found the medium flat rate was lower. Not by alot though but still that box was 3 times smaller than the medium flat rate box. Shipping is getting harder and harder. Do some you of you see less online candle sales in the near future??? My sales are just picking up BUT the hardest time hasn't hit yet. LynnS
  2. Forgot,I talked to my friend and she heard on the news mail will be slower.Alot of PO's are closing and distribution places are cutting their employees. We all may be in for a rude awakening. Makes sense. We have a small PO near us and they are talking they might be closing. The postmaster is retiring anyway so might as well close down. I understand it could be slower but days longer to arrive.I have a funny feeling she still doesn't have her order and will be over a week. Guess I will go to my PO and ask him what could be wrong. LynnS
  3. Noodle looks like we are the only ones having a problem and this is my very first time after over 7 years.I don't ship alot but orders are always there in 2 days no matter where it is shipped.I'm in Ohio and one of my customers from Ohio gets hers in 2 days the same time the out of state customers get theirs. She is in a rural area but Still why a day later. I am waiting to here from this lady.See if she got mine or her label order from another company. They sent the labels to her last Monday. I sent my package on the Saturday.Just a working day earlier. I have wondered about neighbors.Anyone else wonder if that could happen??? Candy.Always the way my orders are.Sent on a Saturday morning and there by Tues. Not this time LynnS
  4. I was doing a craft show once.I was telling a mother and her daughter not to put candles on a burner with the warning label. The mother said OH how she knew. She did that once and had a small fire. Her daughter had no idea mother made that mistake so I realized I helped one family from having a fire. Makes me wonder how many more people leave the warning labels on the jar and set it on a warmer. LynnS
  5. I sent a order a week ago to a wholesaler. She ordered a few tarts to take to a craft show.I got a email from her in Friday. They hadn't arrived. That was 6 days. so Saturday she had no tarts. She also orderd labels. That company sent them on Monday. She didn't have them Friday. My orders always arrive in 2 days to my customers till now.Upsetting.Not only that the orders were sent USPS for mine and UPS for the company that sent the labels. Anyone having this problem with shipping orders???? Very discouraging. Thank You Lynn Smith
  6. I used pillar wax from AWE but they are out of business.Made a great tart. I checked the Candlemaker Store but can't seem to figure out what I want.Husband was looking too. I ordered 416 from Nature's Garden.Said it was a tart wax.Great throw with Creme Brulee.Really to strong IMO BUT I have to remelt or dig the tart out of the warmer or my glass votive I use to melt my tarts. Pillar wax will drop out of warmers etc without any leftover wax.No remelting or digging to melt another tart. I have a wholesale order coming for candles, votives and tarts but can't get this tart thing the way I want. My wholesaler is patient. She knows I'm looking for the best replacement. I like the 416 throw etc but the tart won't come out of warmer easy. This 416 my husband said is like is our 402 Soy.He knew right away it wouldn't work. Also the tarts seem sorta oily on top. The creme brulee would run you out of the house. That is the plus. I know tarts must be remelted a little or else dug out but that's not what I think customers would like or what I like.I want a tart that just comes out of the container without left over LynnS
  7. I'll write these down and see if The Candlemaker Store has any of these waxes. For my candles Ive used Soy 402 and love it.Also got that from AWE but now pick it up at THE Candlemakers Store. Thanks LynnS

    Tarts

The people around here go to flea markets. Then they come to me and say they can get them cheaper there.I don't know how KY is but I know how Ohio is. I've been doing craft shows for over 6 years and hardly sell a tart.Candles yes but not alot of tarts.I've had people from KYcome to this area to do shows they can't believe it.I don't see them again.I have a friend in KY.We keep in touch.I met her at a craft show. She never came back. She didn't sell candles but what she sold was a seller in her area but Ohio people walked right by her. People have to understand it's where you live.I sell my products for what others around here do and I know I have a great product.I'm told that. I had $5.00 on a 8 ounce JJ.People would come by and ask "How much are your candles".I would tell them and they walked off. Last year I refused to do shows. Not worth my time and hassle.I know my customers missed me but hope they understand. LynnS
  9. The Candlemaker Sroe is close to me.Have any of you purchased their wax for tarts. And if so what one do you use????? I did see that Nature's Garden has a tart wax but haven't checked The Candlemakers Store site. If it doesn't say tart wax I wonder if it would make a good tart. I want a wax that when you are finished with the tart it just falls out of the warmer without digging or re-melting. Of course for 6 years I brought my tart and candle wax from AWE. No longer able to do that.Honestly the closing of the companies I used has been hard to replace the products. A bummer. Had made my candlemaking a bit harder. Thanks LynnS

    Tarts

I sell my tarts (2 in a pack) for $1.25 on internet. I see them online for $.60 each.So is that about right and what most of you sell yours for. Craft shows in this area I sell the pack for $1.00 each. No one would pay anything higher in Ohio or at least not the area I live. Some of the bigger towns might sell for more. Thanks LynnS
  11. I'm having the same problem but looking for tart wax.We used to buy it AWE but out of business now.I think it was a pillar wax. I want to be able to just tip my jar and the tart comes out without melting it.Don't want to dig to change tart scent.I can get that crap at Wal Mart. We're In Ohio. Can anyone help??? I thought about Nature's Garden.I want to keep my shipping down. Thanks LynnS
  12. Yes what I mean(scalloped edges).I just needed the size.I remember now. I used to just walk in the supplier and pick them up.Now gotta have them shipped. Thanks LynnS
  13. The possible new wholesaler wants the prim look not the metal. She said she knows where to get them. That will help alot. I kept looking at the metal and she emailed me back and said prim. Thanks LynnS
  14. What size cello bag should I get to pack 2 tarts.I used to get them local and was able to see them but now I need to order them online. 3 of my suppiers went out of business at the same time. yikes!!!! Thank You LynnS
  15. I found 2 scents at the Candlemakers Store.Pumpkin Spice and Custard.Husband made a candle 1/2 and 1/2.Think I will go with more Spice than custard.3/4 and 1/4. Berts was spicey. Will try creme brulee too.Just I get orders for this almost everytime but can't get it. Love Bert's oils. I am getting low on some others.Really her scents were alot of what other companies don't carry and hard to find. LynnS
  16. My postmaster played dumb. His sub was working one day.I told her my shipping woes. She said you need to go online and order the regional boxes.I went to the Postmaster and said that to him.First played dumb again then said I don't have them here.Well he should tell me to get them. They are free!!!!!! Evidentally the USPS doesn' care we pay the high price. They're hurting. LynnS
  17. I got a small regular box for shipping 4 candles with USPS.It went to Fla from Ohio.I was shocked. It cost over $12 but the flat rate medium is $11.35.The lady from the PO was shocked and she told me to order some boxes on line. They didnt carry the ones she told me to get. I hate going to the PO thinking it can't be much with a few candles. Then it's alot and I don't want to go back and re-do it all.I am afraid to even ship to my state for fear shipping will be outrageous for a small order. When I have big orders I can get 21 8 ounce JJ in a larger flat rate and shipping is only $15.45.That is 21 candle but 4 candles cost $12.00????? I am getting worried when it comes to shipping.Strange this month I've had more orders than I've ever had.I've wondered what is happening. The orders are same area. LynnS
  18. Kamquat, Creme Brulee, Clothesline and Carribean Coconut are awesome., I've gotta try the Pumpkin Creme Brulee. LynnS

  21. I have a order for Pumpkin Custard Spice.Out of it.It is from Bert's.I look online and nothing but pumpkin spice fo.Decided to look for Custard only FO.Can't find it.I find coconut custard and others but not just custard to mix with Pumpkin Pie or Pumpkin Spice fo's. Any ideas.I forgot to delete this on my site.It is a seller but my older customers understand and replace it with something else but don't want to do that with new customers. This scent is going off my site soon.I am finding that alot of Bert's oils were popular but hard to replace. Thank You Lynn Smith
  22. WOW Thank You all.Going to check out these site. Just happy I don't need to buy the jar too.I don't want jars shipped but will be OK for lids only. The Candlemaker isn't far from me but didn't see black lids.I pick up jars there.Between wax and jars I am happy there are local suppliers in my area. Some Fragrances I buy online though Thanks LynnS
  23. Horsescents I knew they would be a bummer to wick.Lots and lots of testing. I think she decided on our 16 ounce Country jar or the 8 ounce JJ with black lids. We've used those jars since we started years ago. I know what wicks to use with them. I don't like double wicking. I wondered if that would be needed. To much flame IMO. Thank You LynnS
  24. I am just wanting the black lids for a wholesale. The JJ come with the gold lids but I don't want to ship jars.Just lids.Is there a supplier who will sell the black lids only for 8 ounce JJ. Just to much to ship jars. Thanks LynnS
