  1. Don't ya just love FREE goodies. I think it came out great.
  2. Great job. I love the confetti look. Perfect for Mardi Gras. Are they 4" dia. Pillars?
  3. The different shades look pretty when they're grouped together like that. Nice job!
  4. Beautiful family...beautiful cane. You did a great job Mark!
  5. Very cool looking. It looks like snow that's turned to ice. I would love to see snow! Its 74* here today. So much for Winter. I guess it's a "grass is always greener" thing.
  6. Candle Science recommends the 7 for palm votives and since GG (I've never tried it) seems to be a high melt point, the 5 may be just fine. I'd give it a try. HTH
  7. Hi Erin...Mine didn't crack. I'm sorry your's did. I don't know enough about Palm to know why it did. This was just the 3rd one I've tried. I kept everything pretty hot. I had the mold, with the glass tea light container in it, in the oven at @200* while the wax melted. Heated to 205* added dye, fo and poured. Put it back in the oven (now turned off) and let it cool. It took about 11 hrs. to completely cool down. I don't know if any of that had anything to do with it not cracking. Where did you get your Palm wax? Mine was from JBN. JW1581/Granite Palm. My mold is concave so I did get a little wax under (over) the tea light cup but it was very thin. It came off when I took the Play-Doh out. I didn't know if I should have poked relief holes. I somehow associate that with using wicks. That might have something to do with the wax cooling in general. Expanding and contracting...maybe? Maybe someone who knows more about Palm can help out with the cracking issue. Anybody?
  8. erinmfritz...You were right. It was CVN not Walgreens. After I read your post this morning I hopped in the car to go get them. It's cooling in the oven. Is there a trick to getting it centered? I had the hardest time getting my fingers and the cup down into the mold. I wish they had the straight sided ones. I think they would have been easier to hold onto. Let us know how it turns out and I'll do the same.
  9. Well, after 3 hours between Wally World, Dollar General, Hobby Lobby and Big Lots I came home with lots of goodies...but no glass tea light holders. I did get some plumbers putty and remembered the Play-Doh (great hot pink color woo-woo). I forgot to stop at Walgreens...didn't follow my own suggestion. So, all dressed up and no where to go. There is another store...Garden Ridge Pottery. Oh, and Pier 1. Other than that...I dunno. I need a nap....
  10. Awh...I was going to go to Wal-mart tomorrow to pick up a couple of them myself. Bummer. I know I saw them somewhere lately. The only other place I've been to recently was Walgreens. Maybe that's where I saw them. I found them on line the other night. 12 for $5.99. But once you add shipping...well you know how that goes. Here's the link just in case. http://www.candle4less.com/Tealight-Holders.st.572.htm
  11. Thanks for the reviews. I was wondering about the Sugar Cookie. I haven't found one yet that has a strong throw in Soy. I had the same results you did with the Wedding Cake. Very weak. I use GB 444
  12. Scent Cellar...that off center hole would drive me nuts. I'm glad you mentioned it. I don't mind spending money on products that are well made but it really bugs me when they're not. Sharyl...when you've used the rounded ones...are they in there permanently? I'm assuming that since they have that bulge half way up and taper a little at the top, they're not going to come out once they're in there. Am I seeing that in my mind correctly? I'm having a real "Duh" day.
  13. You're so creative. They look gorgeous. I'm sure your relatives are gonna love them!
  14. Scrap wax. Whoa...that is beautiful. I think I'll go dig through my trash now. :tiptoe:
  15. Those are beautiful. You did a wonderful job setting up the picture.
  16. Sharyl...what a great idea. You're talking about the glass that you put the plastic tea light cup in, right? Oh shoot...mine are the rounded ones. It has to be straight sided...I'm guessing. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the suggestion.
  17. Hey Ya'll....thanks for looking. You know it does kinda look like a log. I was thinking a fat "Slim Jim". lol  Come on Kimmeroo...you've got the mold, and I know how you like to test... I've been doing container candles on and off for the last 15 yrs. The Pillar I referred to in '72 was made with Gulf Wax (used for canning) and a small box of Crayola crayons for color. Ah, to be young again and not know any better...

Thanks Donita. Wow. I had no idea there were so many uses.
  19. Rubber Cement will do the job. You can pick it up at Wal-Mart. Brush it on the mat board and the paper...let it dry...then press the two together. HTH
  20. Awh...that leaves me out. Unless...someone wants to do a co-op.
  21. OMG...I love Sunflowers. The pictures on their Home page are adorable. Is this a wholesale only site?
