  1. I write on the lid in Sharpie marker intials for the scent: Iced Cinnamon Rolls = ICR Christmas Memories = CM and so on. some also put the initials onto the container itself to prevent wrong tops on bottoms. HTH Carrie I don't use labels - adds more cost to my FREE samples.
  2. My Pure Golden Cold Pressed jojoba oil arrived today frozen. Is it still good to use? Thanks, Carrie
  3. I need 150 tealites in the clear plastic cup, coral in color (can send color swatch) and scented in Vanilla. Need them in May for my nephews wedding. I don't make them, and won't make them. I am pouring their votives though. Would like to see pics of your work. Thanks! Carrie
  4. I don't think paypal personal has a limit. Maybe call and talk to someone. Get the MSDS sheet and ingredient sheet from the company and compare to other suppliers. Get them to give you the name of some of the companies they sell to. If they sell in that large of a quantity, they may be selling to some big companies. What's the name of the company? How long have they been in business? Talk to a salesperson and get info. If they want to sell to you, I'm sure they'll give you info. Google their company name. If there are complaints, you will probably find a forum/board that people rant on.... Just throwing stuff at ya. HTH
  5. If she is local, go by the store and see what she is talking about. First, good customer service is to give her a discount. Now, I say that because she is expecting you to do exactly as the previous owner did. Why would she expect any different? IMO, if you are purchasing an existing company, you should offer the "same" product. If your pricing has to change, then do that. I'm sure part of the purchase price was her customer base/listing. If so, then you owe it to those customers to continue on as usual. If you can't you should relay that info. to them via mail or email, so they aren't surprise by what you send when they place orders. A friend of mine that made candles for 8 years and made TONS of money, sold her company lock stock and barrel to a lady about 50 miles West of us. She carries the same jars, FO, company name, logo, and all and literally duplicates the candles that my friend made. By doing so, she hasn't lost a single customer. They want what they've always gotten. That's just my 2 cents. I hope you get it worked out and don't lose the customer.
  6. I sure do like those! I just love how that wax looks in the jars. Very pretty and I'm sure with the help you get on this board, they are sure to burn just fine. Good job girl! Carrie
  7. Those all look great! Good job! We did that in High School Art class, it was really fun!
  8. I've only had an issue with two FOs - Hot Maple Toddy & Breakfast @ Becky's (too light in scent) Others I've used with great success in my 6006: Chesnuts & Brown Sugar Cinnamon & Sugar Home for the Holidays Sun Goddess Aveda Rosemary Mint Cranberry Orange Cranberry Orange Spice Christmas Snow Caramel Cinnamon Latte Vanilla Bomb Southern Style Vanilla Ambra De Napal Beckys Ultimate Vanilla Blackberry Amber Chocolate Amber Cinna-berry Cinnamon Frosting Coconut Fluff Country Christmas Cucumber Melon Festival of ights Gingerbread Goodies Holiday Eggnog Holly Berry Hot Buttery Cinnamon Pumpkin Patchouli Red Pop Rose Vanilla Salty Sea Air Violet Lime HT and CT are awesome @ 1 oz. PP in 6006 with CD wicks. 9 oz. and 16 oz. sq. mason jars. No cure required. HTH
  9. I have a line of candles that have a jute string and drieds around the neck of the jar. I am having custom warning labels made just for those and want to add another line addressing the decorative items on the candle jar. I have come up with: "Remove decorative items from candle container prior to lighting. Failure to do so could result in a fire hazard." How does this sound? Or does anyone have any other wording? Thanks, Carrie
  10. I've been using the Lavender from Starrville and just love it! A little pricey. Ran out today, and needed other FO's from Peaks so I added their Lavender, which I've used before and it's great as well. HTH Carrie
  11. I ALWAYS give my retailers FREE candles to burn in their store. I also do lotions as well and always give them a TESTER to have out with the regular items for sale. Why not? It DOES increase sales of the lotions and candles and allows people to see just how well they burn and how the scent fills the entire store and how nice the lotion smells and feels. I don't give them any other size than what they are selling. It's a win-win and a no-brainer to boot....IMO
  12. Wish I would have seen this post earlier. I just ordered a pallet of jars and had to go back and order shampoo bottles and caps.....I was needing some of these type baskets.....Uggg....I didn't see these! They do look very nice though. Maybe someone can post a pic with their goodies in it? Carrie
  13. I do have a shop, but don't sell at shows and markets, otherwise, I do the same as Candybee
  14. WSP recipe: • 16 Ounce(s) White Sugar • 4 Tablespoon(s) Clay - Kaolin clay • 4 Ounce(s) Emulsifying Wax • 4 Ounce(s) Shea Butter • 2 Ounce(s) Crafter's Choice Extra Clear MP Soap Base • 8 grams Phenonip • 4 Teaspoon(s) Jojoba Oil • 2 grams Vitamin E • 4 Tablespoon(s) Polysorbate 20 • 1 Tablespoon(s) Liquid Lake Yellow 6 • 2 Teaspoon(s) Fragrance Oil (your choice) OK, so I've been searching for other recipes and came across one that only required oil, sugar, clear M&P soap and FO. Melt soap, add to oil, add color and FO, then sugar, pour into molds, let's set up and cut. Of course, there should be some sort of preservative.... Now the recipe on WSP site requires, e-wax, shea, vit E, Polysorbate 20. Why these extra ingredients? I did want to say that instead of using e-wax in my cubes, I used beeswax which is why they feel more waxy than they probably should. Right? Here are my pics. I like how they came out, just not how the perform. I'm making more this weekend - actually testing some recipes. Thanks Carrie
  15. I use some of their FO's and love them! Very good quality. They are a little pricier, but worth it. Buy some samples and test and see how you like them. Customer Service is terrific! HTH Carrie
  16. I've poured: White Tea - very nice fresh scent Lemongrass Sage - very nice and doesnt' remind me of Pledge! LOL and they are very nice! Next I'm pouring: Berry Tangerine Lemon Lavender English Ivy Carrie
  17. Bert's Baby Fresh reminds me of that lotion.
  18. "more experienced members?" WTH? I've been in the biz for now 8 years...geez Didn't know I was green! You ask for input, I gave it.....what made you think I'm not experienced? Just curious.....
  19. IMO, please pay attn. not only to how they burn, etc.... in the testing, but, I've not delved into tins, but only once, for someone that wanted a wholesale acct with me for tins only. I tested the 8 oz and 16 oz. from BCS and after testing, decided to forgo the acct. I'm just not comfortable with the heat generated on the container. That's JMO only. Way too much heat for my personal comfort level. I'll stick to my jars. Again, only my opinion.
  20. Ebay is your friend, my friend. I had that very same printer....go on ebay and save money $$$! I purchase the HP compatibles and they work great! I have never purchased HP products....I like to keep my money in my bank acct.
  21. I belive that subject has been discussed at length on this board. The consumer gets what they pay for....period. Those are mass produced, probably in China...who knows. WE made handcrafted items that have been tested and tested. Our prices are justified. I at times have told my customers that mention the same thing,,,,,"if you want cheap go to Walmart, if you want Awesome! come to me!". "You get what you pay for", especially in this business whether it be candles or bath & body.
  22. IMO 2nd jar should have a label on the lid or a really nice hang tag. Your ribbon is nice, but IMO, too much. The 3rd candles have a nice label. Keep it simple and be consistent in your labeling. Have a logo? Use it on the same type of label....whether it be kraft or clear. Pillar - test first....if you are afraid...test, test, test. I think your candles look very nice though.
  23. Nevermind, I figured it out. Grabbed the wrong wax.
  24. I followed this recipe to the T, set up well, looks good, however, when I use the cube, it's leaving a wax/filmy build up in the sink and little clumps of the cube that didn't "melt". I went and used one of SYR single use cubes from the Tester Swap and it was the same in texture, etc... but it didn't leave that waxy/filmy residue. What could it be? The Ewax? All the ingredients were purchased from WSP, except the Ewax & M&P soap which I already had. This is the recipe from WSP. They look wonderful! I'd post pic, but left my camera at the office. • 16 Ounce(s) White Sugar • 4 Tablespoon(s) Clay - Kaolin clay • 4 Ounce(s) Emulsifying Wax • 4 Ounce(s) Shea Butter • 2 Ounce(s) Crafter's Choice Extra Clear MP Soap Base • 8 grams Phenonip • 4 Teaspoon(s) Jojoba Oil • 2 grams Vitamin E • 4 Tablespoon(s) Polysorbate 20 • 1 Tablespoon(s) Liquid Lake Yellow 6 • 2 Teaspoon(s) Fragrance Oil (your choice) Thanks for any help.
