I have run in to a few of those over the years and you are right it is annoying. It is best just to ignore them they do not seem to last long when they figure out that candle making is a lot of work.
I agree with you Vicki. There is a gentlemen that lives down the road from me. He started making candles because he saw how many one of my accounts were selling. He started making them and put them in a store. They aren't moving and he is ticked.
It took me years to get a customer base and most imitator think it comes over night.

You are going to come across this no matter what you sell. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure that you make the best product you can. It will show in the end..

Ok ladies,
I know that some of you wholesale and I need some advice on something.
For those of you that sell 16 oz colonal jars what are you charging wholesale?
The reason I ask this is because I was actually told today that my prices are way to high considering that I am not a name brand.
If you don't want to post it here please pm me if you would.

Did your pine accelerate? Guessing it was manageable if it did, but I remember doing one that moved fast and I never made it again lol.

I will respond. Yes, I turn a profit. Not a huge one but it's there. But last year I had to work a lot harder than normal because of the economy and fuel prices and the cost of everything rising.
I am sure others will say the same thing. I had to be a lot smarter with my spending.

I know that many of you have them and I am trying to create one of my own. I was wondering if anyone had an old one that I could take a look to to get ideas from.

Has anyone used the unrefined shea from Soapers Choice? Is it the nice light yellow stuff with mild aroma or that dark really smelly stuff?
TIA!
I bought some years ago. It may have changed but it was green and had a smell to it.

Candle parties are wonderful. I don't know if you have a brochure or not but you may also want to consider it. This way you can send some of those and some order forms to the hostess and they can take orders from people who can't make it to the party. This will increase your sales even more.

How do you market towards it? I am having a marketing block and can't think....
I am talking for soap wise... Not business wise.....
