I buy my lye in the 50# bag and I even get it delivered to my door for $55.00
-
Well, the oddest thing I think I have seen/read is pumpkin, tomatoes, peaches etc...
-
The second one I made was a soy wax one with sunkissed currant scent, red wax colour and used Enchanted Lites pillar wax combines with some palm wax. I used an LX 14 wick for this. This was burned almost to the end but not quite.
.
As far as I know Enchanted lites doesn't carry a pillar wax. I am assuming that you are using the votive wax? I use gw-28's in my votives and they work really well.
-
If you are going to list Sodium Hydroxide, where would you list it?
I actually list everything that goes into the pot to make soap in the order of highest amount to lowest.
-
No advice but wow, that;s a whole lot of votives!
-
Thank you!

Anyone know where I can get it?

Also learned in PA, that I can't have everything on one label either (totally pbbbbth) so I have had to separate the ingredient list from the rest of the label and go back to two labels to avoid wasting too many single sheets.
Ok, what do you mean by this Scented? Are you saying that you have to have a separate label just for the ingredients. If so crap. I need to redo mine.

I can get some rustic looking apple crates?
-
Congrats!! How exciting! I wish you the best of luck!

I also use clear labels and have no problems with bubbles. I get mine from labelsbythesheet. Maybe it is just your labels?
I got my from Online Labels.
-
Are you putting the label on all at once? If so start at one end & smooth it out as you go. If you still get bubbles try to push it out to the end of the label. I stopped using these labels just for that problem, couldn't stand even one freakin little bubble:laugh2:
I am starting at the middle and working my way out. Hmmm Hubby thinks I should use white labels.
-
The labels that I am using are 2 by 4 and a matte finish. I will give all your suggestions a try and see what happens.

Is anyone using clear labels on their candles? If so how the heck do you get the air pockets out of them? I love the look of the clear labels but I hate the air pockets.
-
Are you going to give them full size bars? If so, how many? I've been wondering this myself for a place I want to present my products to.
I did give full sized bars to a potential wholesale customer. I gave them 3 all in different recipes and scents. I ended up landing the account.
Now this account that I am talking about in this post. I willing be sending one of my candles. It is a 15.5 ounce jar that I have. I am only sending one to them.
I also would never send out a sample to some one who asked for them.
Hope that helps.
-
Would you guys include samples of some kind with the letter of introduction?
Normally I would not but for this one I am going to because it would be a great opportunity if I could get them to buy from me.
-
That's great!! Did you sell them to her wholesale or retail?
-
My candle sales are the same as last year.
Soaps are up from last year.
Supplies are way up from last year.
Sales at bazaars/craft shows are up slightly also.
Website orders are slightly up from last year more people calling in orders because they want to talk to a real person.
We figured that Michigan is hit so hard by unemployment that sales would be down dramatically but there aren't. Weird.

Since Wayne is retired we would love to be able to make and provide these, we've had many inquiries. The right table saw he needs costs several hundred dollars. The cheap one he has doesn't have settings to make perfectly measured cuts. It takes him a full day to just make one and is not as perfect as he would want to sell. With the right saw he could probably make one in a couple of hours instead of 8. lol If we ever come across a good deal on a saw we would sure be willing to make some for anyone interested.
Ah hemm Please put me on the top of your waiting list!! LOL

Thanks : )
No problem. The only reason I know it is some how I got on a newsletter list for some referral network. I am getting ready to report them.
-
Thanks Billie. I don't have anyone that can make them for me:( that is why I am looking to see if I can buy them somewhere.
-
Yes, it does. You can report it to the FTC.
Here is the information

Trying to remember but isn't her mold like the Kelsi's slab with the dividers?
Kind of but it but the sides come of in an L. I really like the idea of it. I will have to see if I can find the thread that shows it.

This is my first year using quick books and I wanted to know to I need to renew it every year or no? The reason that I am asking is I just bought it and I am going to be upset if I have to upgrade or something in a few months.
