  1. Ok gurls...need a link for the site please And Angel2006.. what is your site url??
  2. called Crow and Cornbread. Anyone ever heard of it? I have searched and searched and no luck?
  3. I am hoping to see a good increase in sales at Christmas time I know that there are a few months that will be awful.. Jan, Feb, March and April are usually really slow. I am just hoping to sell enough to cover the fees those months. All in all for me it is good advertising. I get alot of repeat orders on my website from stuff bought there.
  4. Jenn.. Sorry.. forgot to fix that pm thing.. LOL Will do that now
  5. I have a craft booth/space in a local gift shoppe/craft mall. We are in a very small town, I think there are about 40 booths in there. Mine is 35.00 per month plus 10% of my sales. I have been there 2 1/2 months now. First month was a 1/2 month, I made 70.00 or so after my fees. Second month (full month) I did 180.00 after fees, now this month as of 5 days ago I was already at about 115.00. Not bad for our size town. I have it jammed packed full of unique candles, lamps, dolls, and stuff that isn't on my site. I am the only one in there with that kind of stuff so that is good. Go for it!!
  6. I have not made any gel candles, just bought from others. Not been too happy with what I purchased. I want to make my own, for my site, cuz I have some ideas...but no clue where to start and what kind of outcome I should expect for scent throw and such.
  7. The sink with hot water works great! I have also added just a dash of oxy clean.. not to much or it bleaches them... LOL! Then they are white cones.. LOL But hot water with a touch of soap, and oxy clean will kill anything..and if it doesn't well then it justs gets dipped!! LOL
  8. Hmmm...better go fix my pm box.. LOL I just dry them in my house for a bit. Mine aren't too sappy...and that doesn't hurt them. I use a pillar soy wax. I love doing them as I am a prim person and like grubby, drippy stuff..LOL
  9. I didn't know they made a chunk mold now.. I want one.. LOL My hands hurt from all the cutting.. LOL Awsome looking candles girl!
  10. Ok.. I have never made a gel candle in my life!! LOL I have bought some and have mixed feelings. I like the look, and smell at first is usually ok.. but then when I burn them I have been disappointed. Most don't smell when burning like a soy or paraffin candle. Most burn crappy, soot and die. Why? I had thought I would like to start making gel, but not sure if I want to if this is the way they all are. I don't want to sell crappy candles. Anyone with advice, help, and such. Please
  11. I love making these, and will be adding them to my site soon. I use soy.. ez soy that is...and just pack my chunks in and pour over. I make sure my chunks are a dark color so they show thru all over. I also only use certain containers, to be sure they look the neatest.. LOL This gal.. Kim....friend of mine makes awsome soy chunk candles too.. http://www.kountryatheartkandles.com
  12. Another awsome mold place is French Hill Country. Dawn is fast, friendly and prices are good. http://www.frenchhillcountry.com
  13. Never ordered from them... and now never will. Thanks for the heads up Very sad
  14. We are Harley bikers and I have looked into making candles with a Harley logo, name and such on them...Big NO NO!! They are registered, trademarked and will not take lightly someone putting their name on anything and selling it. If you are doing candles in just the Harley colors, not a problem. If they are only gifts and such..might be ok. Just be careful.
  15. I love making those. I sell them as firestarters or as decoration. I don't use the huge cones cuz I sell pinecones of my own. We are in Minnesota and I have tons of them in my yard.. LOL! I also sell the cones on Ebay in big bags. They are not the huge ones, more long and skinny. Most are about 7"long by 3" wide. If ya want some let me know... I have tons and tons. I am getting ready to list them on Ebay soon. Pm me or email me at tandsthomas@frontiernet.net
  16. I have had to do away with certain scents in my candle line because of them making me sick when I pour. I still have a few on the line and would have some ticked of customers if I took them off too! So if I have to make them they are the last batch of the day, I go back upstairs (candle shoppe in basement), shut the door and it's not too bad.
  17. There are many places... Bitter Creek, Wholesale Supplies Plus, Candles and Supplies... all great places for wax
  18. I always give free samples of tarts (actually a whole tart) or something in my orders, but I got the snippets from Sweet Pea N Me for when someone requests a sample or more of certain scents. That way it wouldn't cost alot to send a few scent samples to them. I love Kimberly, and she is fast and great work! Give her a try.
  19. Do you have their website??? Would love to get some pens. I got some from Print Me Prim....but only 5.. I want more to give to customers and such.
  20. Bravenet is about the best free newsletter service offered...and easy to use. http://www.bravenet.com They have alot of nice things to add to your site. Good luck
