  1. Place a nickel on your scale, it should weigh 5 gms. That is how I calibrate my balance beams.
  2. I have not had any problems with it at all with the 1275 that I purchased from Creative Candle in Charleston, WV, it poured beautiful and had a great throw, and the wicking was good. I found where I could get my wax without shipping and that is what I went with. They also sell it at Julies Candles in South Point, OH. I don't know anything about C&S waxes, I have not purchased their waxes. My wax did not come from C&S, but there are other suppliers that have that same wax.
  3. I used 10 cases from Creative Candle in Charleston, WV from Dec.-March. I just found it a little easier to get to without shipping from Julie's Candles in South Point, OH, but I have not poured with it yet. I did not have any complaints about it during those months of use.
  4. I don't dilute, I sell the oils uncut. I give instruction not to drop too much on the ring. They are very fragrant. I know some people dilute, but I don't know what with. Maybe refresher oil base (?)
  5. I sell the 1oz oil to use with them, thinking about changing to 1/2 oz bottles, but I have not decided yet. They sell slow, but they do sell. I like the ceramic rings best, but you and the customer must be careful with them, bc they will crack. I tell the customer to add the fo to the ring with a dropper, if they drop too much on they will smoke especially if the bulb is too hot. I suggest 60W max. I have not tried using cut fo with them, but that is a thought too.
  6. I have used those color crystals from Makes. The only thing I have noticed is that if they don't all melt they make little spots in the bottom of the jars. To make sure they are all melted, I put them in with a little wax and get it as hot as the wax can take, then add everything else. I like Makes wax beads, they make vibrant color.
  7. I have ordered from them 2 times. One time was very quick, they other time I had to wait, but I knew that when I ordered, out of stock and I was not in a hurry, both times the items came well packed and in great shape.
  8. CandleMan, Try your local feed store, they would have them or could get them. I also found them at WalMart in the Pet Section sold as cage litter for birds. OH Cathy
  9. Thanks Amish Ragdoll, I have a GC from Lowes. I'll try that. OH Cathy
  10. OK73/1 Wax OK 73/1 is a general purpose paraffin wax made specifically for pillars, tapers and votives. 55 lbs. Per Case (5/11 lb. Slabs) Melt Point: 135 Pour Temperature: 160-180° F Makes Scents Candle Supply, Pataskla, OH The employees at Makes' told me this was a straight paraffin. It just figures that it is not, they dish out conflicting info quite often. I would like to try a rustic from this wax. I was wondering about wicking and hot/cold throw. Top...do you know who the mfg. of this wax is? Thanks, Cathy
  11. Swintec SW-20 - Battery or Electric So simple to operate, very portable, I bought one used and it never fails me. Do an ebay search for Swintec SW 20.
  12. Has anyone ever used this wax? From Makes in OH. I can't seem to find out much about it. Thanks, Cathy
  13. Yes Supply is close and I can pick up from them. My orders have always been correct and ready for me. Also well packed.
  14. Waiting to hear your Pomegranate Blackberry burn test results. I love their Birthday Cake. Makes a great white cake and great throw.
  15. Could someone suggest where to find this FO.
  16. I use WSP M+P White and Clear Bases. I only add 1 T PP unrefined Shea Butter to my mix + FO. I have used this same blend for over 6 yrs. and I cannot go back to store soaps. After I unmold my soap I let them dry in a rack for at least a week or more before I package them. I always use a pouffie in the shower and get great lather. I have used other brands that made my skin feel dry and itchy after using.
  17. I use a lot of Astor V and pour it at 150. I get smooth tops.
  18. Does anyone know if you can use the #'s on a debit card to track which bank a card is issued from? At a show last month I accepted a debit card through ProPay and get a decline when processing the card. She showed me her ID and I did not think to write her adress down, she was rushing + her kids acting up and I had a line of customers, I just checked DL to make sure she was the person on the card. I got a phone # but reverse search shows nothing, I would like to figure out her address. They never answer the phone. ProPay says that I am processing correct, that may be non sufficient funds. I would love to take this to the prosecutor of her county but first I would like an address. Anyone know how to get bank info or home address. I am beginning to believe she is hiding and probably good at it? Thanks anyone !
  19. 740-687-9385 Just in case you need it.
  20. Last year I asked them how they got an electric candle to look like it did on the web. I asked them if they painted it or used colored wax. I asked them 3 times by email. They sent me an email and asked if I was the "competition". Paranoid, I guess.
