  1. Forgive me, but SW? I know ICS, but what is SW? Thanks I remember that some place on this site is a cheat sheet for suppliers any 1 know where to find it?
  2. Julie, Thanks so much for responding, I'm very excited and can't wait to get started. The whip should be here tomorrow. I am very lucky, I have a container supply house, right around the corner from me, so I will save a ton on shipping!!! Literally, a 30 second drive, lol. My jars will be available this afternoon. I ordered 2 and 4 oz to start, and I think they are poly-styrete(maybe? not sure about the spelling) and they are wide mouth. Thanks again, and I would still love to hear what others have to say. Jen
  3. Hi everyone, I am totally brand new to B&B. I tried the soy candle thing for a while, but I think I've given up on that, I didn't have very good luck.:embarasse I figured I'd better do something with all the stuff I have in the basement before the DH actually kills me for wasting $$$$...lol. Anyways, I ordered KY's soy whip, because I've heard good reviews, and I have tons of body safe FO's (because of the candle thing). But my question is, when looking for containers, is there anything I should know? Should I look for a specific type of plastic? I know with candles, some plastics eat up the scent. Also, how thick is this stuff?(its not here yet) Can I put it in lotion bottles or should I go with the little tubs/wide mouth jars? And 1 more thing, I have a ton of shea butter, could I add it to this? How would I go about doing that? Thanks so much in advance, Jen
  4. Thanks Candlebuddy! I'll order a sample. I have about 45lbs left of the 415, that I really don't want to waste. Anyone have any ideas on a parrafin that I could add to that? I just don't know where to start, I know very little about soy and even less about parrafin. TIA, Jen
  5. I am banging my head against the wall with the 415...no matter what I do to it I just cannot get good HT. I've changed temps, wicks, FO's, added and removed different additives. I've been testing this stuff for a few months and I'm getting nothing good in return. I give up on it. UGH!!! So for my next quest, I would like to try a 50/50. Or something to get any HT at all!!! Should I buy a parrafin and add it to the 415 (could it be a bad batch?) or should I start with something already mixed? Which brand seems to be easiest in your opinions? Where would be a good place to start? I already have LX, CD and some HTP wicks (sample packs so sizes are limited) Should I wick up or down to start with? I would be starting fresh with no clue where to begin:p ANY, ANY, ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Jen
  6. small world...I'm in East Rochester, which is right next door to Fairport.
  7. http://www.drewcandle.com/osCommerce/index.htm this is Drew's website, the soy is under enchanted lights products. Jane where are you in Roch-chacha?
  8. Hey where was everyone when I was looking for this information a few months back? I didn't realize that I could buy wax from Drew, thats awesome I'll have to give them a call, I haven't tried Enchanted lights yet, I'll have to search for some info on them. Thanks for all the good info in this link, I live in Rochester and I've been ordering most everything from Bitter Creek North, which I LOVE by the way, but it would be nice to save on shipping for some stuff. As far as suppilers in PA, I found that my shipping was actually less expensive from BCN in Wisonsin than from a place in PA. I suggest getting some more info on shipping before placing an order just because of location, jmo. Good luck!
  9. sounds like you need a UVA stabilizer, BCN has a good one. I not positive tho, maybe someone else can help out more. Good luck.
  10. I ordered some samples from ICS, one being baby hugs. It's poured and waiting to burn, can't wait now, smelled great when mixing. Any way my point for posting was that I ordered from them and had my oils in less than a week, super fast!!! They are one of the few that ship USPS.
  11. WD 40 works awesome. PS it also removes CRAYON from painted living room walls:yay:
  12. What's really funny is that my DH and I were arguing over which 1 I could have, I bought the presto at Walmart and he bought the Dazey at BJ's I wanted the Presto initially cuz I never heard anyone mention the Dazey, didnt know if it would work right...lol. Well I lost the battle and he got his darling Presto and I thought "this probably wont be right" Well, haha to him cuz his cord keeps falling out and mine is PERFECT. neener, neener, neener:p I know I'm real mature...lol Jen
  13. Not too horribly long ago, around Christmas. You could call to see if they have them anymore, and not waste a trip. I never saw them on their web site.
  14. I have a Dazey, whish is awesome by the way. I got it at BJ's wholesale club, the only place I've ever seen them. Best thing I've ever bought. And if you set it at a smidge below the "simmer" setting it holds a constant 170*
