  1. Has anyone tried the Liquid Glycerin base from Essentials by Catalina? If so, what did you think of it?
  2. Try Soaper's Workshop as well. Their Avocado & Jojoba is very glossy. The Hemp & Jojoba is very nice too, less glossy. She's got a few more combinations too, but I haven't tried those.
  3. Your website and products look very nice. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just keep doing what you do!
  4. PLEASE post!!!! I for one would love to see them. If they are repeats, no biggie.
  5. Ditto everyone's sentiment. I thought the same thing when I first started making candles last September. I thought I'd be rolling in the dough by Christmas. I still haven't sold one candle yet. :embarasse The more I test, the more I realize that I want to put out a QUALITY product. And if my product caused harm to another because I didn't do all I should have to produce a safe, quality product, well I would not want to live with that on my conscience. No amount of money in the world would be worth me harming another over my greed. (Not calling you "greedy", I'm just saying.) Think about it...and pray again.
  6. Try this site: http://www.gina.antczak.btinternet.co.uk/CU/ING.HTM It gives a brief description of cosmetic ingredients. Might be a good starting point. Good luck.
  7. Wow Lindsay you are always so helpful!
  8. I really like this product, but when I add up the costs it seems rather expensive to produce compared to other things. So I'm just wondering how much do others charge? Thanx.
  9. I've tried Peak's, Cajun Candle's, NG's, and have a sample of ICS and one on the way from Scent Works. I'm on a quest for the best Pink Sugar!!! So far, I'd have to say NG has it best. The only problem is their's is a tad softer than the others in terms of throw. Peak's is a close second. However, there is something slightly harsh in the Peak's version. It didn't do well in my cyclo spray, but works well in everything else. But NG is fine with cyclo. But as I said, it's a bit softer than I'd like. Cajun's is not even close! Yuck! ICS smells just like NG and Peaks oob. So unless SW version is better than NG, I'm sticking with NG!
  10. I tried cutting the end of a baggie, but the bag really wasn't big enough. Where can I find the pastry bags? Would they be at Walmart or Target?
  11. Anyone have any tips or tricks on how to do this? For example, how do you fill jars without getting the product on the sides? TIA.
  12. Thanx for the input, Lindsay. I'm so sorry about your water problem. I would be devastated...and back to bed I'd be headin'!
  13. I'm trying to mail an FO via USPS. I don't know the flash point (I've contacted the supplier but haven't heard back from them yet). I'd like to mail this package today, if possible. However, I'm not sure what to say at the post office when they ask me about the package. How do others normally mail packages via USPS? Or is it best to just use UPS? I'd rather not as it's only a sample size FO that I'm sending to someone. Any advice is appreciated. Thanx.
  14. Ditto! Filled out the forms and no samples. Same with Lightning Labels. I don't know why these companies put up those forms if they don't plan to honor the offer. No worries, I just spend my hard earned money elsewhere.
  15. I don't yet sell, so I can't answer your question. But it might help if you ask family and friends and even strangers how much they'd expect to pay for the product if they saw it in a store. Or maybe check out the retail stores in your area to see what the going rate is. I have asked a lot of people who would be a part of my target market how much they'd expect to pay for my products. Surprisingly, their threshold is WAY higher than cost x 4!!! (Even for M&P soap.) So I don't necessarily plan to go with that pricing formula for my products. But then again, I haven't sold a thing yet. But I am getting requests for purchases now. As soon as I get labels...
  16. Never mind...found him in the supplier list.
  17. So who's this Tony I keep reading about??? *Like I really need to know about another supplier. :embarasse
  18. Michi, WOW that is amazing!!! With it all black it doesn't look so bad.
  19. I use NG's Pink Sugar in SFIC Shea. It started browning almost immediately! I've also used it in FBB. It's a little discolored, but not much. I have a sample of ICS' and one from SW on the way, so I'll give those a try.
  20. I've tried a sample of the shower gel from EBC. It's great. They're just too far from me.
  21. Giving them as samples...another good idea I had not considered! Thanx guys! Keep the great ideas flowing!
  22. Wow! All great ideas! Thanx! Especially the charity one. I might do that!
